Post Endoscopy

I'm new here, but have been in the shadows reading posts for quite some time. In April I had a borderline Iga (high, but not high enough for celiac), but other celiac blood work was normal. While waiting for the endoscope, I spent a couple of fabulous weeks gluten free. Then had a gluten fest 2 weeks prior to the endo. The results came back negative; no damage to the villi. I'm so confused! Don't think my bloodwork was accurate because I was gluten free for a couple of days before it was done.

When I'm gluten free, I feel better, the bloating, burping, and constipation go away, but the doc wants to put me through some more tests. Now with hypothyroidism, I'm also looking at diabetes. I feel like a poser to say I'm celiac, but it all seems to point that way (at least in my twisted sense of reality). ;)

any advice?

If not eating gluten makes you feel better then stick with it! Do what makes you healthier.

I ditto that....you could be sensitive to gluten and just not be celiac. I think that you should do what is best for your body. Your body can tell more then any test.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
