i have recently been told that i may have an allergy to glutens, i have a horrible rash that was diagnosed as poison ivy at first. food doesn't make me sick, but this rash is horrible, itchy, and seems to be getting worse. in the shower soap burns when i wash my body... do you know which shampoo, conditioners, and body washes are gluten free.... and where do i get them from?

I asked a question similar to this awhile back, so I'll tell you what I came up with...

For bar soap, the consensus seemed to be Dove Soap. Only one person replied re. a bodywash and she said she'd never had any problem with Caress, so I plan on buying that next trip to the store. If anyone else knows of safe bodywashes I'm sure they'll post as well. For Shampoo/Conditioner I plan on using Aussie b/c I have thick/color-treated hair that needs some strong conditioning. Some say Aussie is not ok, but two people here have very sensitive skin and react to everything but Aussie has never been a problem for them. BUT, if you want to be super safe (and aren't as picky as me :P ), Dove and Neutrogena are good gluten-free shampoo and conditioner choices. Hope this helps!

Also the whole foods generic 365 brand of shampoo/conditioner/body lotion/shower gel is gluten-free and what I use. I been sensitive to such things for years, and they are the first to not make me want rip my skin/scalp off

I use Suave for body wash. My favorite is the one for babies it has a nice light lavender scent. They will clearly label gluten ingredients. Garneir is the brand I go to for skin care and shampoos and conditioners. They also label clearly.

Giovanni makes some nice hair products, I had to stop using them because I am allergic to soy but at that time most of the shampoos and conditioners were safe. They have come out with some skin and bath products but you would need to read the label to be sure about those as I haven't used any. Burts Bees also makes some good products although I haven't used them they seem to get recommended often.

I like Soft Soap and use it in my shower as well as at all the sinks. I also like Suave shampoo and conditioner.

I looked at the bottle this morning and it is the Suave Naturals for Kids not a baby wash like I thought. Don't want you searching the wrong aisle. It is in a white bottle.

No, Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     I take both of these and a B Complex.

what Benfotiamine should I take as Life Extension contains both Ben and TTFD.
    • knitty kitty
I take both Benfotiamine and TTFD.   You might want to start with the Benfotiamine for a few days and then add in the TTFD.   You can look for NeuroMag (Magnesium Threonate).  A magnesium glycinate is fine, too.  Doctor's Best is a good brand.  Don't take more than 300mg total per day of magnesium or it may have a laxative effect.   Be sure to take the B Complex.  The Benfotiamine and TTFD will need the other B vitamins.

Life Extension Benfotiamine with Thiamine has 100MG of Ben and 25 of Thia..... Do you think this is the one I should take or Objective Nutrients Thiamax (TTFD) which has 100MG Thiamine. How much magnesium should I look for? I take the womens 50+ multivitamin since consumerlabs stated and tested that it has the right amount of vitamins and not too much for men and doesn't have BHT which has shown to cause liver cancer in animals. I was never big with multivitamins as well as doctors I just read when I was first going gluten free to take a multi but I think I will stop them and work on trying the super B Thia and Ben, Mag.

Hi all I’ve been celiac for 4 years now, I’ve done pretty well to avoid it thus far. Last night I took the wrong pizza out of the freezer and ate the whole lot!! The non gluten and gluten pizza boxes are both very similar.   2 hours later I was throwing up violently on my hands and knees over the loo.  .horrendous stomach pains,  My hair was wet from sweat every part of my body was wet. What an awful experience, just had a bad headache today  fortunately.    Is their any products/pills anyone takes if they have realised they have just been glutened to make the symptoms a little less worse.  thanks
