Burning Sensation

I feel a little weird writing about this and I'd rather not go into any details before I know it's O.K to do so but I just went to pass stool for the second time today and I've never experienced such a painful burning sensation before after (and during) passing stool.

I think some of my food was contaminated with gluten in the past 48 hours and I've been having all sorts of symptoms I had before my gluten-free diet ... Could this be related? I don't recall having this since I was a child and definitely not this severe. I managed to get off the toilet but the burning sensation is still there, 30 minutes after my visit. Stomach cramps, too. But those are not uncommon after having eaten gluten.

Well, sometimes if your system moves quickly D can be pretty acidic. Aside from that, there could be several explanations. Spicy food, etc. You may have hemorrhoids...

D? Diarrhoea? None of that. Although it wasn't very firm either.

Do hemorrhoids grow overnight? I quickly looked up the symptoms for that, doesn't seem to fit.

I did have red bell peppers and concentrated tomato juice on my (gluten-free) Pizza yesterday but it's not something I'm not used to.. Well, maybe my stomach is just upset due to the possible gluten-contamination. I'll add it to my list of symptoms to present to my doctor. Keeping a little log of the days leading up to my appointment when anything out of the ordinary happens.

This happened to me this summer after eating a lot of raw fruit a few tiimes. My dietitian told me to restrict my raw fruit intake, sadly, but the symptoms have not happened since.

Hi there,

does it feel like you are 'pooping' acid? whether its soft or hard? if so, and you are intolerant to gluten, i would say your food was contaminated.

things that trigger this effect in me heavily and rapidly: beer, fried foods (if the same oil is used to fry other foods that contain gluten, ie restaurants) and on a lower extent normal bread. i can get away with eating a regular thin crust pizza once a week or 2 weeks. but if i have that 2-3 days in a row i get what you described up there. however 1 can of beer has the worst and quickest effect on me. same with fried foods. the more the oil is saturated with gluten the worse it is. ive had a bad reaction after eating 2 fries from a fish and chips fast food restaurant. since the oil was used to fry breaded fish all day long.

i hope this helps. im still looking for a way to ease this symptom when it occurs. none can be found not even anti acid, or proton pump inhibitors.

lastly, out of personal experience, hemorrhoids can appear after a bad session of what i refer to as acid poop. whether it is acid or not, it feels like acid. as it 'burns' the skin it comes into contact with leaving it irritated for hours or days if it happend on multiple instances.

good luck :) and get well

The last post was from 2011.

if you can eat a regular pizza crust with no issue, then gluten isn't your problem.  You might want to look for something else.  The amount of gluten in a beer or fryer cc is very very small compared to eating a pizza crust.

I am assuming you do not have Celiac disease.

I looked further into Thiamax Vitamin B1 by objective nutrients and read all the great reviews. I think I will give this a try. I noticed only possible side affect is possibly the first week so body adjusts. Life Extensions carries Benfotiamine with Thiamine and the mega one you mentioned. Not sure if both in one is better or seperate. some reviews state a laxative affect as side affect. SHould I take with my super B complex or just these 2 and multivitamin? I will do further research but I appreciate the wonderful explanation you provided on Thiamine.

There are other Celiac genes. HLA DQ 2 and HLA DQ 8 show up in people from Northern European descent.   People of Mediterranean descent have HLA DQ 7.  People of Asian descent have HLA DQ 9.   There's other Indigenous populations that have other HLA genes that code for Celiac disease.   Are you still having symptoms?   What do you include in your diet?  Are you vegetarian? Are you taking any prescription medication?  Omeprazole?  Metformin?   Do you have anemia?  Thyroid problems? Are you taking any vitamins or herbal supplements?

There are eight essential B vitamins.  They are all water soluble.  Any excess of B vitamins is easily excreted by the kidneys.   Thiamine is Vitamin B 1.  Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.  Benfotiamine and TTFD are forms of Thiamine that the body can utilize very easily.   The form of Thiamine in the supplements you mentioned is Thiamine Mononitrate, a form that the body does not absorb well and does not utilize well.  Only about thirty percent of the amount on the label is actually absorbed in the small intestine.  Less than that can actually be used by the body.  Manufacturers add thiamine mononitrate to their products because it's cheap and shelf-stable.  Thiamine and other B vitamins break down when exposed to light and heat and over time.  Thiamine Mononitrate is a form that does not break down over time sitting on a shelf waiting for someone to buy them.  What makes Thiamine Mononitrate shelf stable makes it difficult for the body to turn into a useable form.  In fact, it takes more thiamine to turn it into a useable form.   Gastrointestinal Beriberi is a localized shortage of Thiamine in the gastrointestinal tract.  High carbohydrate meals can result in gastrointestinal symptoms of Gastric Beriberi.  Fiber is a type of carbohydrate.  So, high fiber/carbohydrate snacks could trigger Gastric Beriberi.   Since blood tests for Thiamine and other B vitamins are so inaccurate, the World Health Organization recommends trying Thiamine and looking for health improvement because it's safe and nontoxic.

Thanks very interesting I have to see if I should take these 2 vitamins along with my multi and super Vit B complex or if its too much or would hurt me. I don't have any other health issues but would love to see if this improves anything especially to feel stronger build muscle.
