Needing An Excellent Gi Doc In Northern Va Area

I've already been to one GI doc and that was a flipping mess and I do not have a lot of time and I have even less money to mess around so getting it right the first time is imperative! I have every classic symptom of Celiacs disease with a few others on top of that and I do NOT want to be diagnosed with IBS again. I need the right diagnosis the first time and I need a doctor that will treat me as a partner in my health and not act like he is a god. I know a good bit about my own heath and I don't need one to waste my time and precious money.

So, with all of that said, who can you recommend to me? I'm very tired of being sick and will not be quiting gluten until proper testing has been done but I am tired of spending time on the toilet and sleeping so much.

I've just moved back to the NoVA area...the nutritionist I saw (Cheryl Harris...*love her*) recommended Dr. Sean Hurley at Digestive Disease Physicians on Kenmore Ave. in Alexandria. She said that she's heard very good things about him from her other Celiac patients. He's also listed on the DC Metro Celiac Organization as a recommended doctor. I have an appointment to see him on October 1st so I don't have first hand experience yet!

I just saw this article in the DC Senior Beacon by Andrea Kohn on celiac disease. She is with Capital Digestive care, and they have 16 offices around the DC area. Pretty good article al in all. Cheryl Harris is well known in the area. I'd trust her recommendation.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
