  1. Wow, your symptoms could be my own. In fact, right now, I am undergoing all sorts of tests for my gallbladder and the ducts around it. I get the pain under my ribcage as well and ONLY when I eat gluten. I was recently diagnosed by stool test as gluten intolerant. This is my first week gluten-free. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. If you don't have the money...
  2. Rinne, I can definitely see what you mean. I DO think I eat emotionally to distract myself from how I feel. I mean, when you've got this bloated, distended stomach, why not eat more? At least that's how I often feel. I am quite overweight and need to lose lots of weight. I believe going gluten free WILL help because it's harder to get the refined...
  3. Almond Breeze now has unsweetened milks!! That makes me very happy!
  4. Oh my! Both of these recipes sound wonderful!!
  5. Wow, that pizza looks great!! I am TERRIBLE at pizza dough. I always end up with a hole in it. She makes it look very easy!! Thank you so much for posting this! Shannon
  6. BERNESES -- I am glad to know that many of us share similar intolerances. Sometimes I just get a craving for black beans and rice. But they cause so much distress that I am never going to eat them until I'm sure that I've healed. Right now it seems like the only safe foods for me are brown rice, vegetables, potatoes, fish, and chicken. So that's what...
  7. Shannon, I'm a Shannon too. Welcome! I know this is hard. I just went gluten free this past Monday. It is the hardest thing I've ever done. Carla mentioned denial. I was there too. All these ladies on here are so supportive and kind. Please come here whenever you need us. Hugs, Shannon
  8. Patti, I am so glad it's not just me that can't tolerate some of these things. I think I have been so sick for so long that I can't even fathom what it feels like to be well. I will continue on my way with a gluten-free diet. I am also an emotional eater, so I have to try to keep myself very logical about eating properly. I get down on myself for...
  9. Ursula, Thank you so much for your response. I believe what you say, completely. I do believe it is the gluten that is causing everything from my Hashimoto's autoimmune hypothyroidism to fatigue to inability to lose weight to abdominal pain and indigestion to hypoglycemia. I have been looking for my answer for years. I was eating raisin bran, wondering...
  10. I just want to say what a blessing this site is. Had it not been for you all, I would have thought I was stuck with mushy rice pasta. Every single review I have read says that Tinkyada is awesome. Now I just have to figure out where to find it. I am almost in tears, I am so happy that I don't have to give up lasagna or tuna pasta. Literally, tears...
  11. Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I went to the doctor today. She is the "typical" doctor who trusts blood work. My celiac panel was negative, so she says I don't have a gluten intolerance. My stool test was positive, but she doesn't recognize that. In any event, I have been having a lot of indigestion and stomach pain...but...
  12. I just went gluten-free because of a positive stool test...and the fact that I have terrible burning in my digestive system when I eat gluten (or legumes for that matter). But, anyway, I have quite prominent ridges in my fingernails (all of them). I think the middle fingers are the worst, but I can definitely see and feel them on all fingers. Since...
  13. Wow, I just posted a new topic relating closely to this one. I read the first few pages of posts before posting and somehow missed this thread! I just wanted to say that I also have a major problem with peanuts, peanut butter, soy, lentils, and beans. Peas don't seem to bother me much. But, Elizabeth, it's not just you, as you can see! Almond butter...
  14. Hi all. I am new to the forum! This is such a great place. I'm so happy I found it. I have not been diagnosed as celiac, however, grains containing gluten give me severe digestive pain, indigestion, and acid reflux (among other digestive troubles) and headaches. I also get recurrent ear and sinus infections, and have been doing a lot of research regarding...
