I am planning on going in October and want to be able to eat... any restaurants... and b&b's that happen to serve gluten-free food.. health food stores that have bars that i can sneak into a restaurant when everyone else is eating real food?

    went to a Gluten Free Vendor Fair on Sunday and picked up a at home genetic testing kit.. i thought how great.. a simple cheek swab and you send it in... no getting jabbed with needles (which leads to me passing out) and no trecking to a doctor who has no idea why you are even doing it.. i open it up when i get home and BAM!!! $355 to get the test done!     I will be going to a new GI next week... I havent been to a GI about celiac because the ones I had been to just told me I have IBS.. I tested postive with the blood test.. what other tests should I request?

    does anyone go to Dr. Green? I hear he is THE Dr. to go to. I was curious to know if anyone who does go to him, or any of the doctors at Columbia, use Empire for their insurance. With Dr. Green you pay and then get reimbursed. Has anyone used Empire with him?

    i am kinda new to this... so if you don't have the skin form of this disease... then are you less likely to have to watch your shampoos and lotions?? i have been using my same shampoo and lotion and maybe thats why i'm still sick... is there a list of mainstream shampoos and such that are safe??

    are there any diet pills that are gluten free? I know a lot of people are against them.. but I need to do something. I injured my knee so I haven't been able to work out like I used to and I am blowing up!! Also, my appetite has increased A LOT since going gluten free. I need something. Any advice?

    I made an appointment witha dr that was mentioned on this board. I have had such a long history of bouncing around from dr to dr who just gave me the run around and didn't help.     I am not interested in taking birth control to prevent pregnancy.. it's more of a regularity issue.. so I wouldn't mind one that had a 99% chance to getting pregnant lol.. I'm not worried about that.. but if taking the pill is going to make me never want to have sex then... ehh maybe I can deal with the irregularity!!

    i haven't been tested yet.. but i am almost certain that I am allergic to casein.. but it could be lactose intolerance.. what is the difference in symptoms?

    oh i'm getting mixed internet search results.. boars head: what's gluten free? i also need to eat dairy free as well.. some packages say gluten free some do not. Some say dairy free some do not. I've read that almost all of them are both gluten and dairy free, i've read only a few are. Their website doesn't seem to be too helpful. Maybe someone here can shed...
