  1. This is the weirdest thing. I updated my avatar on a Mac computer. I can see it on the Mac, but when I check it on my PC, I can't see it. I then tried loading my new avatar on my PC. I can see that the photo uploaded, but when I check my posts, the new avatar doesn't show up. Any clues? Claire
  2. Hi Lisa, I have 5 amalgams. You and Donna are scaring me because you both got sick after taking out your amalgams. This is exactly the reason I'm afraid to do it! I have been doing Chinese medicine for almost 2 years, acupuncture and herbs. I've been doing a lot to get my system in balance and my liver clear. I think I would be ready to have my amalgams...
  3. Happy Birthday Donna!! A Cancer, just like DH When you get a chance, can you tell me what you did to detox from removing your amalgams. I remember when you were posting about that. I think I'm convinced about removing my amalgams after looking at this video. It shows the off gassing of a 25 year old mercury filling: Open Original Shared...
  4. Thank you everyone for your replies on my questions  !! I didn't have the ASYRA done yet. I'll have to ask about it next time I go. Oh, what does ASYRA do? I have a feeling DMPS wouldn't work for me until I get my amalgams out. Andrea, are you still breastfeeding Seth? What problems have you noticed with him? Have you...
  5. Hello All, I'm back. I tried to catch up a little so that I have half a clue what's going on. I have questions for all you ARTsy fartsy people out there. I had my first ART session yesterday with Eve Greenberg. She knows Scott the better health guy, and is a Dr. Klinghardt groupie. When I told her about my 5 amalgams, I immediately got a lecture...
  6. Rachel, Thanks for the suggestion to e-mail Scott, the better health guy. He e-mailed me back tonight and confirmed that the ART person who I found in town is really good. Wow, that was quick! I'll be calling her as soon as my brain-fogged mind can remember ! I feel so much better having a reference! Donna and Susan ~ I'll be contacting you when...
  7. Hi Jin, Castor oil packs are pretty safe, so yeah, go for it. I miss you guys too , but now I'm on another mission . I'm now a thread mistress on another board. The topic is Eastern Medicine (acupuncture & herbs) and TTC (trying to conceive). It's my latest obsession, so that's where I'm spending most of my internet time now. DH and I...
  8. Just a drive by for me. Yeah, I know I've been MIA, but I've got other things on my mind! Rachel, your appointment sounded really good. Are you doing castor oil packs everyday? Which reminds me, I promised to give my easy version of castor oil packs. So, here it is: What you'll need: Castor oil wash cloth hot water bottle (what a great...
  9. Bummer about the castor oil pack. I never thought of it as loosening toxins. Maybe it's just the castor oil itself. I noticed that my bottle of castor oil had a little bit of mold in the bottom of it today . Needless to say, it got tossed. I have actually thought about doing this, or with probiotics. I don't see how that stuff makes it...
  10. Ditto. You can't keep me out of the woods. It's part of my job anyways. When West Nile Virus came through here, they were saying use DEET and stay away from standing water. Well, I work by rivers and wetlands, so it was pretty much impossible for me to do that. I did end up testing positive for WNV. I never even knew I had it until I got mono and...
  11. If you are interested, I can post my simple castor oil treatment. It's easier than messing with the flannel soaked in castor oil. Yes, you can do it yourself. That's the beauty of it. Yeah, I think I can, but I probably shouldn't . It's the sugar that really gets me. Haalllooooooooo to you too! Are you really far away? I think...
  12. Quick update on my latest Bioset files. I saw Dr. F yesterday and dairy is still a loser for me . He checked all his Bioset vials, and thought maybe I could have goat cheese once in a while. It's weird, because he thought this was the one food I would have a deep allergy to. He cleared it for me previously, and that's when I started eating kefir made...
  13. Jin, my doctor told me that if you are hyperthyroid, you don't want to be giving someone more thyroid hormones! But, if you are hypothyroid, Armour Thyroid is pretty good and better than the synthetic stuff. Ultrasounds aren't the most fun procedure in the world, but I've had worse procedures! If you PM me your address, I can send you some information...
  14. Well, the cookies turned out really dry. I was hoping for a nice moist oatmeal cookie. I wish there was a "Gluten-Free Baking for Dummies" cookbook! I tried grinding the oatmeal to make oat flour, which turned out ok. My cookies rose nicely, but they were dry. Don't know how to get them to be chewy . Jin, Yes, fibroids can cause bleeding...
  15. I soooo wanted cookies last night . Well, I'm in one time zone ahead of you, so it's later here. I would have been baking cookies at 9:30pm if I'd had gotten started sooner (sorry Rachel's mom) ! I'm definitely doing it tonight, but I think I'm going to add some maple syrup since I don't have Candida. I'm kinda lukewarm about stevia . ...
  16. Ooh, a topic I know something about ! Yes, fibroids can cause dark menstrual blood and foul odor. What happens when you get fibroids in your uterus is that the muscles in the uterus don't work as well with that fibroid in the way, and not all the blood may get out during your period. If you have dark blood in the beginning of your period, its blood that...
  17. Thanks for the oatmeal cookie recipe Rachel! I'm going to experiment with it. I've been dying for cookies, but the ones I can get at the store are too sweet. I'll let you know how my experiment goes. If I didn't have to go to bed now, I'd make a batch right this second! I'm thinking of grinding some of the oats into a flour first. It's easy to do in...
  18. I hate good docs gone bad ! Being tired all the time and crying a lot...could be that something is whacky with your thyroid. I think you have good intuition that something physiological is going on besides the brain chemistry stuff. It's all connected. When I was depressed a few years ago, I was crying 3 to 4 times a day. They, I finally...
  19. I am so needing the "OMG Thread" Cliff Notes. Huh, that's weird, your story. I've been kinda hairy all my life, so I think it's a genetic thing with me, being Italian and all. Unless we've all been toxic all this time . One of my docs left me a message about testosterone being high for all kinds of reasons. Well, when I find out more, I...
  20. Yay for getting diagnosed! I had an appointment with Dr. F earlier in the week and I'm STILL reacting to dairy. I was eating chocolate in the last two weeks, and we know that has dairy, so I'm off the chocolate too . I was eating a lot of it too, so it's just as well that I'm off it. I had more testing for other stuff. I had a procedure...
  21. Happy belated page 1000!! DH is lecturing me about going to bed, so I can't write much. Tomorrow, I have more unnatural tests done to my body. Ohhh, can't wait . Are we now on the the wedding pictures? Oh, I'd love to post mine, but they are super HUGE and it will take some doing to get them small enough. Jin, whoa, that glam-girl...
  22. I've had good luck using coconut milk instead of cream in some soup recipes. DH is so impressed, he can't tell the difference! I buy it at the health food stores. It's good in gluten-free oatmeal as well. I haven't found anything good to substitute for cheese though, which bums me out! I love cheese! Clarified butter or ghee is also safe. It's...
  23. Stupid fibroids ! You'll be having me test for Lyme next ! Andrea, I'd get it checked out. A simple transvaginal ultrasound will let you know. Better to know what your dealing with than not. In my case, my stupid doc who originally diagnosed me with fibroids said they were small and I didn't need to worry about them. Then, they got...
  24. Hi Klaya, I would definitely recommend acupuncture for you AND your husband. I frequent on another fertility board and the one group I'm on there is women who have been TTC doing acupuncture. There have been a lot of success stories. I'm not quite there yet, but working on it. I did the whole IUI thing and it didn't work. I'm also 40. I'm probably...
  25. Jin, I notice the chocolate craving more when I'm PMSing. If I take magnesium instead of eating chocolate, my craving for chocolate goes away. But of course, it's much more fun to eat chocolate . I've been doing acupuncture for over a year and a half. I'd love to adopt, but DH won't go for it. Mtndog, welcome to the 40 and fertility...
