ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Welcome Flowergirl (love the name!) Thanks for the heads up on corn syrup. Corn syrup and I don't get along, but your article didn't really say why it was bad. I think there is more to it than turning off your receptors to feeling full. I want to know the mechanism of what makes processed corn syrup so bad and what it does to your body. How exactly...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Have you tried the gluten-free oats? I've eaten gluten-free oats for breakfast the last two mornings. I hope that didn't set me off. I thought they would be ok. I gotta have some carbs. I so wanted some cookies tonight, or a big mug of hot chocolate, or some cheese and crackers, but I settled on sweet potato chips and pomagrante juice. Not exactly...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Ok, now I'm confused about the Imagine beef flavored broth. I noticed I still had some in the frig, and I needed it for a crock pot recipe. The ingredients are: "organic beef broth (filtered water, organic beef), organic onions, organic celery, sea salt, organic beef flavor, organic beef extract, organic carrots, organic garlic, organic spice". I didn...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut I found this off the internet. Just do a search on "green potatoes toxins", and you'll find lots of stuff. I don't buy or eat green potatoes. I always store them in a paper bag in a cupboard. I was just staring at the boxes last week trying to decide which beef broth to buy. The vague ingredient "natural flavors" baffled me. I'll know...

The testing for allergies is not perfect. Certainly that is the case with the IgG delayed food allergy tests (ELISA blood tests). You use the test results as a guideline, and try out what it's telling you. I showed a reaction to lamb as well, and I rarely eat lamb. If you have eliminated wheat, eventually your body stops making antibodies to it, so it...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Hi Laura (and everyone else), Both my husband and I have been tested through Diagnos-Techs Lab. We both had a low SIgA, my husband's being lower than mine! My score was <69 and DH was <28. We both have bacterial dysbiosis. Mine is the Klebsiella/Enterobacter group and his is C.diff plus yeast (not Candida). My doctor told me that the SIgA...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut That's worth saying again! Either I got you mixed up with someone else or I hallucinated it . I mean, it's so hard to keep up with all the posts here . Claire

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut I just like saying it, molybdum. Mol-ib-di-di-dum . Try saying that three times fast!

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut I've been tracking my food again in a diary. Sugar is feeding whatever little beasties I have too. So sugar is out. I'm not even chewing sugarless gum as I think those sugar (xylitol, etc.) alcohols aren't good either. I would do the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, but I can't restrict my carbs that much. I think I'll just cut down on my carbs so as not...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Lots to reply to, but first, we'll tune into another episode of...the BioSET Files . Well, I didn't exactly have a "BioSET" appointment last night. I went in to Dr. F all ready to bombard him with questions about parasites, but I forgot my list . He started testing me for foods. Eggs, ok. Dairy, ok. Wheat, ok . Whaatt? How did that happen...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Hi Rachel, Hmmm, interesting about the treatment for C. diff not working. Well, I'm still having digestive problems after all the BioSET, taking herbs for bacterial dysbiosis, and all the other supplements I'm taking to try to help me . I see Dr. F tomorrow, so I'll get his take on things. I know there were other parasites I was not tested for....

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Thanks Rachel! Very helpful. Have you gotten rid of your C. diff or just not worried about it? Just wondering, especially because of all the bacteria you said you tested for on the BioSET panel. What is that bacteria BioSET panel anyways? I don't think I've seen one at Dr. F's place. Does it have the specific names of the different kinds of pathogenic...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut I usually get loose stools or D during my period, unrelated to what I eat. I see mostly Chinese medical doctors these days, and there is an explanation in Chinese medical terms, but it's kind of hard to understand that system. It has to do with your hormonal changes. I don't really know the particulars, but I'll try a basic explanation. Here's my theory...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Hi Evie, I'm really curious about your experience with C. diff. My DH was diagnosed with it, and I'm wondering if I may have gotten it from him, especially since my immune system seems to be compromised. I was never specifically tested for it. If there are some posts on this thread you can refer me to, I'd appreciate it. I'm curious about your...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Scott, Thanks for giving this thread's subtitle a better name, but I do think it was weird that you changed it initially without getting the opinion of those on this thread. I do think that your comments to Mango are better addressed in a PM. Seems like you are taking it a bit too personally. There are many ways for people to express themselves...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Me too. I got cleared for all these foods, but I'm still having intestinal problems. Obviously, the food intolerances aren't the only problem. Whatever dysbiosis I had came back. I have been trying to be patient as I've only been on the herbs less than two weeks. I know it takes at least two weeks for the herbs to work. I'm wondering if I had the dysbiosis...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Wow, there are many different types of antibiotics !! Open Original Shared Link I guess DH was wrong. How did I miss all these years that Flagyl was an antibiotic ? What planet have I been living on ? Claire

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut  Damn girl, you've been through a lot! I know you've been trying to pin point one factor, but it sounds like you had the whole 9 yards at once, and that's your answer. Claire

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Thanks for the info Rachel. Yes, DH tested for Toxins A & B for C. diff. from a stool test. Dr. F doesn't rely on BioSET to diagnose pathogens. He makes you get the tests done, which is fine by me. DH does not have severe diarrhea, but he does have pretty bad gas. I mean, he can clear a room - WOOFF !! I've actually been woken up in the middle...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut When DH said he wasn't allergic to any foods after he saw Dr. F (BioSET guy here in CO), I had to think about the results he got from our other acupuncturist. She said he shouldn't be eating yeast, dairy, or sugar. I put two and two together, and summarized that since he has this intestinal fungus (not Candida), that he muscle tested negative to those foods...

ARCHIVED About To Go Dairy Free And Depressed As All Get Out About Itdiamondheart replied to eLaurie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut There is no question that dairy is hard to give up. I don't miss milk, I don't miss ice cream, but cheese is the hardest. Casein is not the issue with me and dairy, but the fake cheeses don't cut it. How do you have pizza without cheese? Being Italian, I've had to give up a lot of the Italian dishes I used to make with cheese. I once had rice "sour cream...

I used to get the kinda burning feeling you are talking about on my upper lip after eating nuts. I think it might be an allergic reaction. Now, the challenge is to figure out what's causing it! Claire

ARCHIVED I Have No Idea What To Eatdiamondheart replied to ami27's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut I hate that feeling of not knowing what to eat and being afraid to eat for fear that I'll have a reaction to something. The best thing is to take charge of your situation so you don't get yourself in panic mode. Reading on boards like this helped me figure out what to do next. If you can get tested for intestinal fungi, bacteria, parasites, and other...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Somethingdiamondheart replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Thanks everyone for your replies after the restaurant fiasco . It helps that you all know what it's like! I actually recommended to our local celiac group to put this restaurant on their list. I'm gonna un-recommend them ! Carla, I don't know if our local group does this, but I'll ask. This makes total sense to me. I think...
