    I'm toying with the idea of purchasing one of the cheaper tests. Dr. Fine suggested the stool test for malabsorption or the Genetic test. I dont really care about the genetics, since Celiac runs in the family. I dont have anything except a postive IgA, mild anemia and stomach rumbling on occasion. I'm wondering if any of the less expensive tests would...

    I did this today. Wrote him and asked his opinion. I cant afford much, but I sure would like to know why my stomach is rumbling. And with a high IgA, I need to see what else he finds. Just not sure what to purchase test wise.

    Thanks Lisa. I'm still doing research on this. I wish I could afford my own tests but I just cant right now. You were brave enough for the biopsy, I havent chosen to do one yet. Do you have symptoms?

    I guess the only positive test I still have is the Gliadin IgA. My doctor says it's not a big deal until the Ttg turns positive, but that it could be latent Celiac. I'm still wondering if anyone has any advice on high IgA and what to do with the info. Mine was 74 normal is 25 or less.........

    I feel that if I am leaning toward Celiac, my IgA, IgG and Endomysial tests are going to go from negative to postive, or in the case of my IgA, much more positive. So am trying to obtain a test of these to compare to last February. Am I wrong, or would these tests not show a change if things were getting worse? His nurse said he is calling these markers...

    I called and asked for a repeat IgA, IgG and Endomysial. The gal at the doctors didnt know what I was talking about, so I hope the doctor calls me instead next time!

    Ive been asking the same questions. My IgA was the only positive test last year, but I am having lots of stomach rumblings, and now show a slight bit of anemia.     I'm still trying to find out what other things can cause a higher than normal IgA? Since my Endomysial, IgG and Ttg tests were normal, but Celiac runs in the family I have no idea if IgA is anything to base anything on? My test result on this was a 60, with 30 being normal.     Dr. Fine suggests that I probably have at least Gluten Sensitivity at this point due to a postive Ig A test. That is the only thing that has been postive, the Ttg and others were not.     Thanks for being here to answer a few questions! I have now tested negative for everything except an elevated IgA last year, so I am not going to worry about gluten-free or Celiac for right now.

    YankeeDB: You win the prize for sending me the information. I appreciate it. I had a positive IgA test, but everything else was negative (that was last year.) This year the doctor decided to run the Ttg. I have no symptoms whatsoever, except some tummy "bubbling." I should have the results of this test this week, and am just trying to keep the situation...

    My Endo just ordered this test for me, and I dont believe I had one of these when I had my first Celiac blood test last year. Anyone know how reliable or specific this one is? Thanks for any info.

    Ellen: Thanks for all your sharing and questions. Unlike some, I was able to already be labeled Celiac based on one IgA antibody test, even though the other tests were negative.     I know, I read the research on this and I think it would be very beneficial, but I dont have the money to invest in it! Wonder if they ever do research studies? I would be perfect for it. And I agree, I think one day I could have Celiac. Mom didnt get really sick until she was 65, but by then she was pretty miserable.

    Thanks, I just went ahead and had the Endo put another blood test on the paperwork so I can see if there is any difference over one year. I figured that was a safe place to start!

    Last February my Endo gave me the Celiac blood workup. My Mom has Celiac and my sister and I have diabetes, so there is a good chance of problems in this area as well.
