  1. Don't forget to check the soap and hand sanitizers they use in the classroom.
  2. I use Arbonne cleansers & makeup and LOVE them! Arbonne recently changed their ingredients to be gluten-free. The company was very nice to deal with and helpful when I called them with more questions....
  3. Thank you for your suggestions. I've never heard of h. pylori. I'll be sure to look it up..... I did think about his new medicines but he began this heartburn before he started them. Since it comes and goes, I think my best plan for now is to keep a journal and write down anytime he is having this new symptom. He came home sick from school today but...
  4. I decided to go gluten free because of horrible migraines. Since going gluten free, I have seen a significant decrease in my migraines. However, when I first eliminated gluten I had one of the worst migraines I've ever had and my joint pain felt worse. I almost gave up because I thought I couldn't be gluten intolerant if I was still feeling so bad. My mom...
  5. I have a 7 year old little boy who has been gluten free for 4 years now. Going gluten free was the best decision we made for him and he has grown and been successful ever since. I have also gone gluten free (and my migraines are much better controlled) and am keeping our 22 month old son gluten free for now as well. My question is about a new symptom that...
  6. I have a 21 month old so I am always looking for gluten-free kid-fun foods. We really like the Chex and EnviroKids cereals. We recently found cute chocolate and vanilla mini cookies that are in the shape of bunnies by Annie's...very similar to a teddy graham. Also, Orgran's makes itty bitty bears that are similar to teddy grahams except they are gluten-free...
  7. Just wanted to add my two cents....as I know how hard it can be for a mom who is sending her lo off to school for the very first time....and when our lo has celiac it can make it even harder. I also can bring the other side as I was a teacher before I had children. I have been dealing with celiac with my middle son for over three years now. He is now...
  8. Hi everyone! I first want to thank everyone who has helped me throughout the years with my first celiac son. Your info has been a true lifesaver! He has been gluten free for 3 years now and I feel confident in the gluten free lifestyle or at least I thought I did :-) until son #2 came along....DS2 is now 1 year and I think I am having food allergies with...
  9. does anyone know of any gluten free pretzel rods? I know Glutino has excellent pretzel sticks and pretzel twists but I have a cute recipe to make "lightsabers" for my six year old using pretzel rods. I have been trying to figure out how to creatively change this recipe but am having the most difficult time. Does anyone have any ideas? TIA!
  10. To Pattymom, you said you had a recipe for a glutenfree girlscout cookie recipe? Would you be willing to share? Our family is split in half with allergies, one of which has celiac. We love to buy girl scout cookies but I would especially love to make an alternative in the house for little one with celiac. Thank you!
  11. This can be time consuming depending on how many kids are in his class but absolutely adorable! I have done it each year for each of my kids and receive lots of compliments.... Take a small orange, cut off its top (save for later), and scoop out its insides and place them into a big bowl. (you can save those insides to make fresh juice or slushies for...
  12. Hi! Hang in there....the overwhelming feeling goes away with time. My son has been totally gluten-free for two years now and it gets easier all the time. Last year was difficult as pre-k was his first year in a classroom. I am nervous about this year b/c it is his first year in a public school (kindergarten)....but I feel more prepared with each year. There...
  13. Before going gluten-free, we used to make gingerbread houses at holiday time. This is our first Christmas gluten-free but I still wanted to keep some traditions, even if we had to tweak them a bit to keep everyone healthy. So, we made igloos. Sugar cubes and frosting. They came out sooo cute and the kids had such a fun time making them. I told them they can...
  14. Hi, I am in Saratoga, NY. My son is a celiac and has a dairy allergy. I have been questioning whether I would benefit from a gluten free diet myself as I have terrible migraines. I would be interested in meeting anyone to discuss gluten-free issues. We recently moved here and are still looking for a doctor I can trust. If anyone has any recommendations...
  15. I need help finding easy holiday recipes for my 4 year old to use for preschool class. His class likes to cook but I need to send in a gluten free AND dairy free recipe. I would like it to be something cute, easy, and edible that will not take much time since it is a class of 4 year olds with their teacher. Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you!
