  1. Andrea- Big HUG!!!!!!!!!!!!! What you said about talitha and the clothes is very interesting. My niece is the SAME way- she too is very sensitive physically and emotionally. When she was in the 2's (she's 3 1/2 now) she would have these meltdowns that were really scary....she would completely lose sight of what had made her upset in the first...
  2. It has always bothered me that doctors make a distinction between gluten-intolerance and Celiac. They make gluten-intolerance sound like lactose intolerance- oh, you can eat it but you'll have a reaction. No damage done though. I think that is WRONG (and i see a GI who is a celiac specialist at one of the best hospitals in the country and their literature...
  3. Donna- thank you so much for all the links! Those were VERY interesting to read. Now you, carla and rachel (and potentially andrea) have mercury problems because of your fillings? rachel- Candida Spice I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Andrea- Bad news I thought my appointment was June 5th but it's June 12th. I MIGHT get my results...
  4. carla- Soundslike your trip was productive! And you managed to have some fun too! I have three questions. Could you guys explain chelation, BioSet and ART. I could google it all but it would probably be random. Even if you don't explain, some links or whatever. I did look up BioSet practioners in my area but I want to know more about these things. I...
  5. OMG- you'e the other Spice Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're Candy Spice (gosh- that sounds like a stripper name. I get the swollen lymph nodes too. My worst ones are behind my ears and my doctor said therer are a lot of nerve endings there so that makes them even more painful. I think you have lymph nodes all over your body (in places where you don't realize...
  6. OK- glad I'm not alone in my misery 9although sorry you're company). I once had a massage therapist tell my husband after massaging me "Yeah- next stop Christopher Reeve". I was so angry I mean I know my joints are in bad shape but she should have told me- not HIM.
  7. Hi laura and everyoneelse- Sounds like a productive appointment, but I'm sorry you're still feeling crappy. The plan spounds like a good one. I was actually thinking today about how little people mention joint pain on this thread- then you mentioned your severe neck pain. There are days when I feel like every CELL in my body is screaming!
  8. I didn't do the Enterolab testing (although I thought VERY seriously about it). I really pursued an MD diagnosis which took about a year and a half. I NEEDED something to tell me that I wasn't crazy (I know- I am crazy but that's another story ). I basically had borderline positive bloodwork, a negative endoscopy and at first a very positive response...
  9. Oh racheling Bumble bars Hi Moonlight! Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Donna- sorry about the uggy day. Hope it calms down for you. We must compile a Rachelville Dictionary and phrase book! In-bare-assed: to be caught in a sauna with very little clothing on and brain too foggy to remember how to open the door. Spinached: to be in so much much pain that one is willing to take a frozen bag of spinach to bed even though...
  11. OM gosh- I saw one yesterday and it was SOOOOOOOOOOO Ugly. dodge daytona- LYME green Ahhh!!!!!!!!!! Jin- you would love Salem. Full of history, cool stores lots of Wiccans and few ticks I actually just saw Laurie Cabot the other day- i went in her store. She's kind of controversial in the Wiccan community here because she declared herself The...
  12. Jin- I'm sorry :( I hope I didn't come off as too forceful or "Oh, it's so easy, just get a credit card!" I hope we can find a way to get you tested and treated. Gentle hug! rinne- you are so funny. Self-immolation Check this out:Open Original Shared Link I don't know how long this article will be up but my FIL just called to tell me about...
  13. Claire- My question is WHY THE HECK DO WE KEEP LIGHTING OURSELVES ON FIRE???? :P Rinne? Any answers? I'm running out of matches Rachel- I'm sorry about your lawnmower/sprinkler incident Jin- I agree. You need to get that stuff checked out. Contrary to what most Americans believe THIS is what credit cards are for (not Lucky Jeans and Ralph Lauren...
  14. I was wondering the same thing  Happy Birthday Cheryl- sounds like a great weekend! Rachel- I must agree- you are stunning!!!!!!!!!! Donna- The dress may have been fuschia pink but in the picture it looked more burgundy and you looked very pretty!!!!!!!!!!!! Welp- now I know why I can't eat any nut butters. Heinous mold. HARUMPH...
  15. I'm with Patti- rachel you look simply GORRRGEOUSSSSSSSSSS in both pics!!!!!!!!!!! I know what you mean about having dresses and not wearing them. I only like to dress up when I feel good or energetic (uhm- right now, like never). I love seeing everyon'e new avatars- I love the black and white ones too. I have 2 really cool ones of my mom on a ski trip...
  16. Carla- have fun in NY!!!!!!!!!! Rachel- We like your geekiness and scientificness. I think I'm going to invest in some new cookware too. have to go to Macy's today anyway. Hmmm...a little red Le Creuset perhaps. I always but red stuff for my dedicated cookware (except fot the two pans I have that look like spotted cows ). Red means "Stop. Gluten-free...
  17. rinne- I loved what you said about being beaten and bruised and making your way up a mountain, only to fall onto the rocks. Sometimes I think that I fight so hard I make myself sicker. I am finally learning to accept help and be honest about how I'm feeling. Mold?  I REALLY think that the mold in our old apartment was what killed me...
  18.   It would be even funnier if it weren't true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Good morning loves! I feel like arse but the bariium is finally exiting (my poops look like casper the friendly ghost's- sorry, I know, TMI) rachel- want your review of Disturbia. Mia- I had cranisacral therapy done once after a ski accident in 2005 and it felt wonderful. It was more relaxing than a massage. You made me realize i should look into...
  20. OMG- that sounds like something that would happen to me!!!!!! Glad you escaped unscathed! Rachel- That is a great picture and it sounds like it was taken on a wonderful day. You know, I truly believe you and SusieQ will find love. It's NEVER too late- sometimes it's there all along and you don't see it- I knew Kurt for 15 years before we got together...
  21. This is gross but funny and oh so Celiac!!!!! Open Original Shared Link Might make it my new avatar!
  22. Melie- I have long reactions too- I go the other way (constipation, nausea, night sweats and all sorts of fun stuff!). Hope you feel better soon.
  23. Cassandra- I have never heard enterolab called a scam. Just because someone hasn't published in a peer-reviewed journal does not make them a scam. It sounds like you haven't been gluten-free that long and many people will tell you that it takes awhile to fully heal. You should make sure that all your body products/personal care items are gluten-free...
  24. Yummmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Lisa- You are not our toxic friend- you arre a part of the Sister/Brotherhood of the Traveling Toxicities! Jasmine rice, I believe, is no better than any white rice. If you need fiber, go for brown rice. Vitamin C and magnesium help me too...but you have to go slow. If you take too much, you'll feel hideous. I am the self-procliamed QUEEN of constipation...
