  1. Well said! I think people sometimes can't see the forest for the trees. They LOOK to disagree and not to keep a productive logical argument )key difference between arguing for the sake of arguing and presenting a logical argument). I think the end result it seems is that modified food starch is safe BASED on the experience of some of the more senior...
  2. The attacking poster was addressed by a moderator. I have always had the greatest respect for ALL the veteran members here and really despise it when people post just for the sake of arguing. This board is a place to share information. We may not always agree but that's fine. Everyone has their own experiences and frustrations, but to come on looking to...
  3. I'm elderly too It takes soome getting used to and tiredofdoctors is right- older adults aren't much better. I have a friend who's a doctor who always passes me the bread basket and then looks at me strange when I say "Uhm, I can't eat this". I SWEAR to GOD she doesn't believe me. You know what? I've realized it's her problem, not mine! It's very...
  4. From the way I read the email, everything they listed is gluten-free. It's some of the other products (like their juices that are not 100% per juice). It's very frustrating- I had a similar experience with Tropicana bottled lemonade when I first went gluten-free. I would NEVER have thought gluten would be in lemonade but it was clearly contaminated!
  5. As the pharmacist told me when I called Pfizer about a drug, nothing is 100%. EVER. You can't guaranteed that the corn used to create the filler in the medication wasn't grown next to a wheat crop or stored in a shared silo, etc etc etc You get the picture. The FDA would never be able to regulate so as to guarantee a 100% perfect anything (gluten-free...
  6. Just poppping into say hello and happy Memorial Day! Patti- I hope you get better. You should definitely call your PC's office. They usually have a doc on call or a triage nurse you can talk to. If it gets worse- please go to the ER. Carla- Can't believe you got to the race! So cool! Rachel- I think I'm Racheling coffee enemas. Gin...
  7. Hello everyone- just popped into read and check up on all my friends. patti- I'm glad you are seeing the DO on Tuesday. When you mentioned they were near your waist, I thought shingles too. Thet=y are really painfu;l, but I THINK they can start off as itchy. I HOPE it's not that though because Shingles Suck! Or shingles sucks I think you and I are similar...
  8. OMG- that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the response too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carla- thanks for posting the Burrascano guidelines- gonna read that over when I get a chance. It will be interesting to compare that with what my LLMD is recommending for supplements. Rachel- My friend Michael once joked that I must have been the CEO of...
  9. Patti- Were you in the sun today? I have a VERY STRANGE rash on my left thigh that I sometimes get in the sun. Hmmm...also what are those little east coast annoying bugs we have- gnats? My dad called them tsetse flies when we were little so that's what I always called them (uhm-tsetse flies (sp?) are african). My dad's cure for all bug related bites was cold...
  10. OMG now I am ROTFLMAO because you all thought pipcs were something. we might have to make them something. HMMMM...what WOULD a Pipc look like. Must think about this. Chrissy- I am SO sorry about your neuro. LAME! My first appt with my LLMD was 2 1/2 hours. He gave me a 5 page write-up just from that! My next appt to go over my results is 1 1/2 hours...

  12. Rinne- I CAN"T believe you don't know what pipcs are You've NEVER heard of them? Where have you been living?  It was my Lymey brain trying to spell pics (photos) but yesterday was so bad, I put the iced tea in the pantry instead of the fridge and didn't find it for over an hour!! Oy!
  13. I love IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite is the premade, frozen, single serving pizza crusts. I think that Chebe is a gluten-free gift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Agreed. I see nothing in the language of Rachel's posts that indicates she is claiming anything is a fact "I see" "i have observed" "I believe" are clearly opinion statements. I think it's time we let this go and move on to the main purpose of this thread and this board- helping one another. There are no doctors here. Most of us speak from experience and...
  15. i agree- not worth the stress. Take a well-deserved break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Oh you poor thing...the miralax did that to me when I was really really constipated. It's disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One tea that I used to drink for constiaption was laci LeBeau's Super Dieter's tea: Here's a link with the ingredients:Open Original Shared Link It has senna in it which CAN cause problems but it gave me almost immediate relief. Definitely...
  17. tabasco, Laura and Donna- I hope you all feel better. tabasco- The Miralax should help you. I don't think you need more fiber as you are not eating a lot. I have had MAJOR constipation for most of my life and fibeer can actually making you worse (not eating it- but taking a fiber supplement). It bulks you up, bloats you and doesn't necessarily work. Well...
  18. Hi y'all- let's see...I know I'll forget something or someone so my apologies in advance. Patti- I think SIBO and Lyme would be likely for you. Our symptoms are so similar and NY state has Lyme too. It's like we are walking tick bombs So glad you are going to get tested! Rachel- You mentioned you had a "gut feeling" about me when I first started...
  19. No way- we NEED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drive by for the love fest- I told you guys before I told Kurt. Don't think I would have been nearly as calm without ALL of you.   I am proud to call you all my friends.
  20. Yes carla- my bad- The key word is WHEN- When we are well I think my cake will have to still be gluten-free, but that's fine!!! I would like crumbled Reese's pb cups IN the cake, in the frosting and one on each prong of my TWO five-pronged forks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I want for Christmas is 2 scoops of pb and Nutella
  21. Patti- I feel like we are symptoms sisters.....as you cyber "niece" I must insist that you get tested! I'm SO glad you made the appt. OMG- what is the world going to be like if we ALL get healthy? LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!!! I did just find out that he didn't test me for co-infections yet because based on my initial consultation he didn't think...
  22. Good morning (I think)- wel the results are in. Drum roll please: I am positive for Lyme on both the IgG and the IgM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now please don't faint of shock. I decided to push the envelope and call today for the heck of it and yep- I've got it! Don't know about co-infections yet (not sure which ones I was tested for) but they...
  23. I got a 22! I actually read her book The Highly Sensitive Person a long time ago and remember a lot of it resonating with me. Thanks Mango!
  24. OK- you're not going to like this answer BUT I'll give it anyway. In the US we have these masks called N95's which can block out even SARS. You can get them at a hardware store here. I have to wear one when I'm grooming horses. You won't look pretty but you can breathe easy!
  25. Great thread!!!!!!!!!!!! I am an English teacher- everything from 7th grade up to Freshman Composition in college. I am also working on my PhD in English Ed.....almost there. Just have to do the dissertation (ahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!). I love teaching- don't care what age! My hubby is a CTO/software engineer. I get lots of geek-speak around here and I've learned...
