  1. I will investigate this B-12 business... Thanks! (and I love your signatures Allison
  2. Here are three suggestions: -cook what you eat! look at the fruit, and the veggies, and enjoy how pretty they can be! or read about some cool grains or fruits and their fruit families and such, and know a little history and become a little attached (that may be far fetched for some, but i enjoy what i eat much more when i've cooked it--both because I...
  3. the message pretty much says it all... are you a one-day-at-a-time person? (i find it hard to keep that going) how do you convince yourself to go out or go to work when you feel this way?! let's hear it..i know we all have jobs, school etc (i found it to be easier when i was in school) thanks!

    ARCHIVED Dizziness

That's exactly what it feels like--a floating brain--unattached to my shoulders, or maybe even on a balloon string. Weird. I hate it. I have been trying lately to ignore it and just pretend it is not happening, get over my fear of it (I'm afraid because I do faint sometimes too and I have hurt myself before--and what if I'm in a public place?!) But...

    ARCHIVED Dizziness

Hi Mike sans gluten, Your experience is helpful! I have been adding more salt, but it doesn't seem to do much. Maybe this is just related to whatever sort of gluten-related relapse I'm in currently...I will also try to make sure I go for a walk everyday...I'm normally relatively active, but when I'm not feeling well that gets sharply curtailed. Just...
  6. Hi evereyone, Is anyone else suffering from dizziness? I was told that I had POTS (fainting due to poorly regulated blood pressure) a while ago, but this doesn't feel related. I'm definitely also having some sort of stomach episode right now, but I can't quite figure out why dizziness would also be involved. Write back if you have had this and whether...
  7. Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone else has been dealing with dizziness and whether you have found that anything has helped? I can't seem to get rid of it, and it goes in the category of "major-life-disrupter" because it's hard to be out of the house much! I was diagnosed with POTS (poorly regulated blood pressure that causes me to faint very easily...
  8. Hi everyone! Your responses are all much appreciated. This has been a very long and difficult road, and I was so SO grateful when I finally felt better that I didn't even want to darken the door of a doctor. The only reason I'm really serious about getting this checked out now is because I'm sick again. For the record, I don't NEED the official result...
  9. AK JENNY: What sorts of sores in your mouth? Were they white and in the back? Also, can anyone tell me what yogurt is OK?
  10. I also traveled around Europe for a month this summer, and was just thinking that I hardly got sick and I think it must have been because they don't add crap to their food. Anyway, in Italy, I had some mind-blowing Risotto, gelato (must make sure on this one, but most are just fine), cheese, rice crackers, fruit, meat dishes with polenta etc. People...
  11. Hey there-- I am 22 y. old living in NYC gluten-free. There are lots of places here to buy food. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Of course there is the usual Whole Foods and Trader Joes options, but lots of other smaller places as well. If you can't find it here, you can't find it anywhere
  12. In Chicago there are now two: -One at Lincoln and Grace -Another at Clybourn a few blocks north of North Avenue (It's right about the Crate and Barrel Outlet Store) I love the tinkyada pasta, carton soups (creamy tomato), Puffins and Envirokidz cereals, round rice crackers with wheat-free soy sauce seasoning, and i've heard that the wheat free waffles...
  13. I am trying to make the same decision (as you'll see in another post i just put up). I think reading this post just convinced me though that I should challenge myself for a few days (I have been gluten-free for a while too) and just see what happens. If I have a reaction, then SCREW THAT--you don't need some doctor to confirm with a test that might...
  14. Hi everyone, I'm new here. I was sick for three years (mostly extreme exhaustion, stomach pains, occassional diarrhea, dizziness, nausea) and decided to try eliminating gluten after a doctor SUGGESTED it (nobody but nobody could figure out what was wrong). I felt much better about a month after the elimination and have been gluten-free since August...
  15. I have horrendous reflux! They put me on prevacid, but it's hardly done anything. It makes me feel like I can't breathe fully (apparently if it irritates your espophagus enough it cuts off your inhale). Do others have reflux issues? Is this something that comes with celiac?
