  1. Sorry...seen this term around here and don't know the difference between the too. THANKS.
  2. I'm only on day 2. But I have to say, I've taken a nap almost every day for the last....um.....7 years....not a long one mind you, but at least a power nap every day. EXCEPT yesterday and today. I actually have a tiny bit more energy...surprised me. Nantze - I'm so encouraged by your story. I HAVE been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I've read some...
  3. COOL! My local grocery store carries Nature's Path stuff...I think it's a Genardis???? They're under the Safeway umbrella, I think. Hmmm. Very cool, I'll check thme out. We have a Whole Foods not too far away. They may have something too, I just haven't ventured over there yet. THANKS!!!
  4. UGH! I have a recipe for power sticks which use cornflakes. i love them! BUT, I'm having trouble finding cornflakes that don't contain barley malt extract!!!! Any suggestions????
  5. I have not bought them yet, but Trader Joes has a gluten free tortilla on their list of gluten free products. Our closest TJ's is 45 mins away, but I'm going to chance it this week! I'm a mexican food junkie! I'm going to need tortillas' I'll let you know how they are once I try them. I can only imagine they'll be great, I love TJ's stuff!
  6. That's actually waht got me thinking about Gluten free again. Long story - inconclusive blood tests, not enough $$ for the upper GI for confirm. We're trying gluten-free now to see if I get better. I saw her commercial on food network (i'm a food network addict). I was so encouraged. Read her blog for days. She seems like an awesome person! ...
  7. Thanks Happygirl! I really appreciate the help - DEFINITELY hanging onto your name for future help. The GOOD thing, in our house is that our kids are used to mom and dad being "fresh" and we try to get organic when possible. They've already had brown rice pasta with no questioning it or anything, so that is going to be really easy on them. We lived...
  8. THANKS! That's a big help. It's becoming a bit of a daunting task, i guess I thought - no bread, no crackers and I'd be fine! I didn't realize just how pervasive gluten is! I'm even having to dump some of my vitamins b/c they are not gluten free! AHHHHH!!! It's going to be a process to get completely gluten free in our house, but we are working...
  9. Thanks all! Our local health food store had a brown rice baking mix, it wasn't Gluten Free Pantry - but it is gluten free. Fearn? Something like that. I'm going to try it tomorrow and see how it goes. They've had brown rice pasta before and not complained. We've always been a "whole wheat" house, so they are used to things being brown! I'll...
  10. Saturday mornings are pancake day. Needing a good gluten free pancake recipe that they won't be able to tell is NOT regular pancakes. Hubby and I have serious suspicions I have celiac - so I'm going gluten free for a few months to see if I start feeling better. (long story, already posted, don't want to bore anyone!). Truth is, if I AM, then it's a good...
  11. THANKS!!! Working on getting all the wheat out. I'm a SAHM of 3, though...so eliminating out of the house completely is going to be a struggle. Going to need to go about it cautiously. I certainly would love to make it a completely gluten free home, especially for me! Your tips, and links have been really helpful. I have a lot of investigating...
  12. In July, I had a BUNCH of tests done. I had 2 of the Celiac blood tests done and they came back inconclusive. My doctor wanted to do an upper GI to see if there was damage to the small intestine, he said that would be conclusive. He also said that the blood tests often only show out right allergies and not sensitivities... Anyway...to avoid the fee...
