  6. No, I am baking by hand. I think I am using either water that is to hot or not letting the dough rise or it could be not adding enough water to the batter. Does anyone know if the dough is suppost to be sticky or think like frosting. In the recipe it states it should be like thick cake batter. But the first bread I did I tried that and it never baked...

Anyone have any suggestions...

  11. I have been trying to bake Bette Hagman's "new allergy free" bread. I followed it to the "T". But everytime I make it...it comes out crusted and golden brown on the outside and like it never baked on the inside. My daughter loves the fresh baked bread so much she begs me for the crust just to have the flavor. The only thing I have changed to see if it...

  16. I would like to ask if some of you would send me a list of your favorite gluten-free items. I would like to have as many gluten-free items in my gluten-free store shelves as I can find. 17. Boojca.... Could you post or PM me with that recipe. I have been trying to find a great "white" bread that I can make at home. I don't have a bread maker so by hand for me! Thanks!
  18. My husband and I want to do this right so...we are getting a business plan together and working on how much it is going to take to get this open. Wow! There is so much involved. I think that most Celiac's know that there is always the possiblity of contamination, especially if they are going to a restaurant that serves items that have gluten. I also...
  19. I want to make fresh baked breads and goodies, for sure. And I have been checking out bread slicers and ovens. I have some really great recipes that I have made at home and thought....this is so good! I have considered making it an "allergy free" like place. My daughter is allergic to peanuts and my son egg. So most of the things I make at home are...

  22. I would do the stool test. I would if you can afford to..do the mouth swab test from Entrolab (?) The lab mentioned on this site. It is the only one that will do it. It costs around $450.00 I think to do all the tests they offer. I do think one is a stool test. My husband and I haven't been able to afford to order the tests. But we will soon. I think...

We just saw Dr Jami and I wasn't impressed with what he had to say. And of course did not offer to do any tests ...just wanted to do the biopsy.
  25. I have known for a year that my daughter might have Celiac. But I didn't take her off gluten until Feb of this year. And I wish I had done it sooner! She is doing so much better in everything. I was really stressed out that first month, trying to make sure I wasn't giving her ANY gluten or dairy. But what you must realize is...until you've gone a few...
