  1. Yep, that sounds like the bread I remember! I still eat pasta once or twice each year (my birthday and one of the holidays) because I really love lasagne .. but it too has gotten much too expensive .. and I did notice how heavy it was on my stomach last time I had it, but I just figured my stomach must be shrinking, lol, but you're probably right, it...
  2. I usually know within 12 to 36 hours, and by then, I'm so bloated, I can barely breathe! Fortunately for me, I've been gluten-free for so many years, I've learned to think of gluten foods the same way I think of .. not sure I can think of an adequate analogy, but you know some cultures eat some pretty strange things that most western cultures wouldn't dream...
  3. I agree, I discovered the hard way that I can't work at a restaurant without being constantly sick, no matter how careful I am. I finally had to move out to my own apartment (still living here, but attempting to buy a house at the moment) because I couldn't get any support from my family to help prevent cross-contamination. My advice would be, if you can...

    ARCHIVED Stomach Flu?

I have had a lot of that sort of trouble this past month or two, then went to the doctor and discovered I'd been eating the wrong brand of peanut butter, and it had been tainted with salmonella. Took me nearly 2 weeks to almost feel normal after that. I still don't feel right, but I attribute it to being nervous about buying my new house. I hope you...
  5. I've noticed the bread often seems to be a compact version of the wheat loaves, so it would seem though a sandwich may be made with smaller, thinner slices of bread, it turns out to be as filling as a "full sized" sandwich. You guys might have found better bread than I have though, so I'm not sure that applies. I like the bread, but I stopped buying it...
  6. Yay, I'm not the only one! 4 hours is the magic number for me as well! I share a condition with my Aunt (I guess it's kind of a genetic defect) where my pancreas is folded or something, and one side is producing the insulin when it's supposed to while the other side is off, and when it's not supposed to, that side is on when the right side is off. I don...
  7. I have been diagnosed with Chronic Hypoglycemia too (ages before I ever heard of Celiac Disease), and that sounds familiar. I was told most people who have this don't know about it. It's been my experience that (if this is your case) you need your carbs to provide energy to operate your metabolism. My sister's advice to me has been to exercise to burn...
  8. Well, I guess we should all be careful not to bump into anyone at the mall .. you never know what they might be wearing. Sad they're making clothing from the top 8 most common allergies (or are they just the top 8 food allergies?).
  9. Hi If I'm not mistaken, Boise State University had a program that investigated the use of wheat as a fuel source, and students built vehicles to run on it, as well as several other crops. About the fabric and sutures, would not one only have a reaction to gluten if it reached the small intestine? I was diagnosed something like 6 or 7 years ago...
