so how much is your injections? 1 cc? (i wasn't really paying attention to the doc). Are the sublingual B12s comparable, really? Geez, if they are what the heck am I thinking of giving myself shots for???
Yes, mine is one cc. I prefer the shots over the other kinds of B-12, no absorption problems, it's very direct.

I've been gluten free for two weeks. I noticed a real change after 4 or 5 days but have had 2 days that were bad after eating dairy. Dairy was not a real problem before but I guess it is now. So that is normal? New things pop up randomly?

My story is like yours, 25 years sick, 2 weeks gluten free and I feel good. I didn't know how bad I felt.

I started doing self injections of B12 several years ago. My level was "almost none" according to the Dr. They do help, I can always tell when it's time, about every 3 weeks. It's easier than you might think to give yourself the injection. If you do it once you have it mastered.

I'm new to this but I have had the same thing for years. I gave up breakfast for that reason. Last bite then off to the bathroom. Breakfast always included some toast. When I was on Atkins I could eat eggs and bacon and not have a problem, now it makes sense.

Thanks for all the help, nice to know I'm not alone in the self diagnosis. I already know I have pernicious anemia and give myself b-12 injections every month. My daughter is also iron anemic. We pretty much fit about 70% of the symptoms list. This runs on my mother's side of the family, it's a trait shared by about half my aunts, uncles and cousins. I will urge the doc to check my vitamin levels. Whatever happens I'm done with gluten!

There are a LOT of people who don't bother with a medical diagnosis. Unless you have some specific need for it, you don't need to pursue it.
Sounds great, I will see what the doc says.

Hello,
I am new here, as of today, I have had ibs for 25 years, or so I thought. My oldest daughter also had it. She did some research and started the gluten free diet about 6 weeks ago, she feels like a new person. I started the gluten free diet 9 days ago and I already feel so much better I can't believe it. No more stomach aches! I'm going to the doctor next week to talk about it but I'm not sure how far to push for tests. To be honest I really don't want to be sick again just to get checked. Are there a lot of suspected celiacs who just follow the diet and forgo the testing?
Possibly Celiac

I'll chime in, I just saw my GP yesterday. I told him I was trying the gluten free diet, gave him my family history and my daughters success story, his reply was "I'm impressed". He told me to keep on the diet and come talk to him in 3 months just to see how everything is going. He said he had sent several people for a Celiac biopsy in the last 20 years and they all came back negative. He also said he was sure there was a lot more of it out there than we realize.
I do have a question, I started gluten free 2 weeks ago, I felt great after the first 4 or 5 days but have really felt crappy for the last 3 days. As far as I know there has been no gluten, I even put the dairy away. Is this normal, do you go up and down for awhile?
