    Just my own experience. I just went through a similar issue a few months ago. I recommend seeing a Cardiologist or at least a visit to your PCP and explain what's going on. I was in denial of my symptoms, honestly, because I was in complete fear - I suffer with extreme medical anxiety. It came to a point, that I was more worried what could be wrong...

    I would ask your PCP for a gastro referral - if you need one. Do a little research in looking for one that specializes in Celiac in your area. And even then it might take a few tries to find the "right" Gastro. My 1st gastro didn't help at all - he tested me for Celiac but I had already been gluten-free due to Hashimoto - still was allowing cross contamination...

    Hi Mary, I've not been to Italy but I follow a blogger who is celiac & she just came back from from Italy. Here's her link. https://noglutenguru.com/?p=1697 I just glanced at her blog and she notes all the places she was able to eat. Also, Italy test all their population for celiac by age 6 so, they are very celiac friendly - so I hear.

    From what I see, she is positive for the HLADQ8 Celiac gene. Having the gene doesn't confirm she has Celiac. Approximately, 30 to 40% of the population carry one or both of these genes.     I have Hashimotos - dx in 2018 & Celiac dx in 2023. I've been told once you have any autoimmune disease, the greater your chances for other autoimmune disease to appear. Definitely get her thyroid checked - I don't know that I'd wait till things clear up. The sooner you find out what might be wrong, the sooner she will begin to heal. Good luck...

    I'm assuming due to the severity of my symptoms. I ticked alot of the boxes - early onset osteopenia, anemia, elevated liver enzymes (which climb sky high when I eat gluten) nausea, severe join pain, the rash.... just to name a few.     I'm walking in your shoes. I would most definitely get a genetic test first - you don't need to consume gluten for this. At least you'll know if your gene positive.
