  1. I received a response from Enzymedica. You can read it here. Looks like they're willing to change the website, to be more clear. Please check out the above link to my other thread, if you're interested.
  2. We may have a success on the GlutenEase front. They wrote me back. You can read the email, if you're interested, Open Original Shared Link
  3. Well! It may not be necessary to bombard them with messages after all. I've heard back from them, and it looks like they're going to change the webpage. After my comment that I sent from the above link, this man, Dave Barton, wrote me back. His first response mainly consisted of a long excerpt from a book on Autism. So I wrote this back: Mr. Barton...
  4. Susie, I am SO SO SO glad to hear this!!! And I have to tell you, it is not dissimilar to what I went through, when I decided to go off the Prozac... it was not helping me, it was nearly killing me!!! Luckily, I had not been on it very long. Speaking of which... yeah... keep an eye on how quickly you go off it. I'm still dealing with the nausea...
  5. The following product is supposedly meant for non-Celiac gluten intolerants. It should not be used as a treatment for Celiac Disease, and (considering the long-term health effects of even small amounts of gluten) to do so could be dangerous. The language on the webpage for this product is confusing and misleading, and I believe it needs to be changed. Take...
  6. Thanks.
  7. Yeah, A LOT less common. While there are other causes, they are VERY rare, especially comparatively speaking. Just that *one* reason is pretty darn key. Why dismiss it as unimportant, just because you don't have a problem with the rest? If you're not concerned, again, that's your prerogative. I personally don't need "hurt people" lined up in front...
  8. Either that or it would burn like a flamethrower. Doesn't salt act like ACID on a slug??? Or maybe that's just an old wives' tale...
  9. Just a quick poop in... Thinking about you today Janet, hope you're doing well! I have so much to do today, and totally overslept. I have NOT been sleeping well at all, the past several weeks, and now I'm even having a hard time when I take something. Ugh. Anyhoo...
  10. Yeah, I was really annoyed with that comment- that guy's quote. Pretty arrogant, and ignorant himself. I think most of us could tell him a thing or two about why it's important for people to know what they're ingesting.
  11. It seems like you're referring to something other than the paragraph I quoted. This is the paragraph I quoted: "Gluten exhibits a unique amino acid sequence which creates inflammation and a flattening of the villi of our intestinal tract. The villi provide the intestine with the ability to absorb nutrients from the foods we eat, thus damaged villi...
  12. I'm not sure about the Tigger cereal, although as Happygirl said- we can help if you list the ingredients. I do buy Trix, Rice Chex, and Pebbles cereals, too. There's a couple others I like, but they're usually found in health food stores or Whole Foods- not mainstream grocery stores. - Envirokids Gorilla Munch. This has a similar taste to Kix...
  13. Welcome to the board! Ravenwoodglass gave excellent advice above! (Happy Birthday, btw!) But I can tell you that my oldest son was plagued with chronic sinus infections (and ear infections,) pre-gluten-free. Now he has not had a single one in a year. I also have had chronic sinus issues, and so has my younger son. We both have been improving as well...
  14. If you get a warning for that, I will personally pitch a fit on your behalf!
  15. It does, however point out that a respected university agrees that Glutenease makes false marketing claims. Probably about as many times as "for non-Celiacs, this product may be perfectly fine" has had to be. I've recently found that Enzymedica DID claim, straight-out, that GlutenEase could treat Celiac, right up until April of this year. They have...
  16. Aaaaaand the Miralax works... too well? It gave him diarrhea. Maybe I'll try him on a 1/2 dose tomorrow. Thank God he made it to the bathroom, because that poor little boy is empty now.
  17. Yeah, nothing like that. Our house is pretty new... only about 8 years old, I think. I don't think there's any nasties lurking. Honestly, these health problems have been going on for years, dating before we lived here too... It's been a weird progression. Luke's potty problems, well at first we thought they were potty training issues. It took a long...
  18. Yeah, Brian's pretty healthy! With the Miralax... Ugh, I know. What I'm thinking though, is that if there's an underlying problem, it's going to come through anyway, eventually. So it's a step forward no matter what... I hope... right? ... Sigh... As for disagreeing with someone, yeah I know. Honestly, with the day I've had today, I'm sick of the whole stupid...
  19. Yup, just got home. The appointment was... a smidge disappointing as far as the constipation problem goes. I updated her on what I've tried with the df diet, fiber supplements, etc. She already knew about the improvement he's had on the gluten-free diet. Her thoughts right now are that his system is sluggish due to... wait for it... IBS. :( Whaaaaaatt...
  20. Well, I'm outta here for now. Gotta jump in the shower real quick. Luke has a pretty important doctor's appointment today, regarding the chronic constipation. He also has a weird mark/lesion/thing on his leg, that has been growing. I don't know what it is, but with my mom getting dxed with Sarc, it makes me nervous. Will update yall on the appt later...
  21. :chuckling: The only transgression I know of is that I had a good point.
  22. No. I don't have to know someone personally who has gone through it, to make the logical deduction that it happens. When something is misleading, it's a logical conclusion that people will be misled by it. Did you know that GlutenEase somehow ended up in goodie bags at an NFCA event last year? Big snafu, caused quite a bit of embarrassment, and a bit of...
  23. I don't mind saying it again... I know that there are other types of gluten intolerances, other than Celiac. And I understand that it's possible that this enzyme might help those people's lives get a little easier. And I never said that it shouldn't be available to anyone who wants it. But I'm deeply disturbed at the way Enzymedica markets GlutenEase....
  24. I know. We're totally gonna get busted for it one 'a these days. Thanks!
  25. NO WAAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!!! Are you serious??? What are the odds?! Impacted Anal Glands.... Owie.
