Lollipop replied to Softballer7's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
hi i'm becca. i'm 14 and have had celiac for over a year now. pm me if you want my email, or just to talk. Right now I'm on a special diet for another disease i have, so all i can eat is formula (like the kind babies have-which i get through an ng tube cuz it tastes nasty ), cantelope, and potatoes. I was gluten free for a year before this diet and felt... -
If you want, you can have your daughter email me any time. i'll send you my email, and i'd be happy to talk to her if she wants to. becca i'm fourteen years old and have had celiac for over a year. i also have another disease called eosinophilic esophagitis, and i have a feeding tube (basically a tube that goes through my nose and puts formula into...

Amy's makes good bread, and bob's red mill makes really good cakes, i'm not sure about cookies. The other day I had this HUGE craving for pizza rolls, so I'm surrounding myself with good food i can have instead. still, its so hard! becca

Chebe mixes have really good pizzas and bread mixes, but we make the bread into breadsticks, and we use pamela's bread mix to make garlic bread. you just have to put the slices of bread on a cookie sheet (use parchment paper or something of the sort if you dont have a gluten free cookie sheet) spread some olive oil and shredded garlic (that sounds weird...

Subway is probably one of the things I miss the most! Its not the like sub bread, but pamela's bread mix is REALLY good, we've even added cinnamon, and then its like cinnamon bread (imagine that, add cinnamon to bread and you get cinnamon bread!). Anyways, I think its really hard to make gluten free buns and sub bread, i have yet to find a good bun. ...

careful with the dairy free ice cream, i think some of it has barley malt in it. also, i was told that goat milk is still considered dairy so I cant have it. The enjoy life brand foods have really good stuff. They're free of basically all major allergens! becca

Not all envirokidz cerial is gluten free. I was eating cheetah chomps for a while because they were with all of the other gluten free cereal, until one day I checked the ingredients, and it has wheat in it. Just goes to show you you should never assume anything is gluten free. It never said that it was gluten free, but be careful anyways becca

ARCHIVED Newly Diagnosed, And Not Feeling Better?
Lollipop replied to teacup's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Give it a little time. I know it sucks but hopefully it will go away with time. If you're still having the same problems in a while, you might want to talk to your doctor about having other intolerances. I know exactly what you mean. I was also diagnosed with another disease (eosinophilic esophagitis), and I'm doing everything the doctors are telling... -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Acne And Excema?
Lollipop replied to Mally-bug's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have had really bad itchy scalp. we originally thought it was caused by a dry scalp but it turned out that there was wheat in my shampoo. You might want to double check the ingredients on all your hair products. (I just realized I already posted that earlier) Also, I use head and shoulders for dandruff, and my haircutter lady told me that if you use... -

I'm not from Michigan, but I am from Wisconsin. As time goes on you get better and better at being gluten free. glutenous foods don't even sound good to me anymore. becca -
Hi! I'm becca, i was diagnosed in may of last year. I can totally understand feeling guilty, I have other health problems in addition to celiac (they also deal with food, or at least we think so) and the food that is allergen free and gluten free gets really expensive. Some ideas for food: Chebe is aweosome Envirokidz (made by natures path) makes...

Someone else posted this on a different board but i totally agree with it: they should make a shot that makes a person a celiac for like a week so that your friends can know what it feels like. Becca

Lollipop replied to diapason05's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know just what you mean. I always feel hungry, but sometimes I just get so sick of eating cuz I feel like i have to eat all the time to fill myself up. I'm new here but maybe it could be that your stomach is damaged so you're not absorbing food as well? becca -
ARCHIVED You're Telling Me This Because.....
Lollipop replied to phakephur's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
This happens to me all of the time. I am still on the diagnostic diet (its my 5th week) but my family (all except my mom) are terrible about this. At first (for like the first 2 days) my friends were all super supportive but now they eat my favorite foods that they can in front of me (just that doesn't bother me) and rave about how good it is. This...
