  1. I've now been back on gluten for about 6 weeks, while undergoing blood tests, Enterolab tests, & an EGD/biopsy (next week). As I continue to eat gluten, not only are my fibromyalgia symptoms getting worse (muscle/joint pain, fatigue, weakness), as well as the obvious intestinal distress (gas, D, bloating, etc), but I've had several episodes of nausea...
  2. My primary doc recently ran a fasting blood test for cholesterol, glucose, etc. Got the results yesterday, & saw that my triglycerides are below the normal range (normal is 35-160 mg/dl and mine is 27), and my alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is below normal too (normal is 35-115 U/L and mine is 31). Did some research online, which said low numbers on...
  3. I would think that if you contacted Enterolab directly with your questions about reliability, they would be able to let you know. I've called them with several questions recently, & they've been very helpful to me over the phone. Plus, the instructions do state that for adults too, several stool samples can be collected until enough is there for the test...
  4. Susie, I'm sorry to read of your experiences & losses. I don't have any wisdom for you, except to make sure you take care of yourself as much as possible right now. Do something extra special for yourself, & give your child a great big hug! Good luck in whatever lies ahead. My thoughts & prayers are with you and your family.
  5. So, has anyone out there had the EGD (endoscopy/Upper G.I.) without the sedation? I'm not crazy about having to be sedated, not being able to legally drive for 24 hours, etc etc. I would prefer to get in there, have them spray my throat, do the scope, & bye I'm on my way. I've had cavities filled with only minimal Novacaine (and once without because...
  6. Hi gfpaperdoll, Yes, most of my symptoms are neurological. My rheumatologist told me I have fibromyalgia last December, then told me "I could give you morphine & it wouldn't help the pain any", & basically said I need to do core strengthening exercises to help my whole body get stronger. But, I could barely do anything because the pain & fatigue...
  7. So I finally got all my test results back from Prometheus, and everything was negative (all antibodies as well as the genetic markers). The antibodies don't surprise me, as I was gluten free for 5 months, followed by a gluten challenge of only 3 weeks prior to the blood test. During the 5 months gluten free, I had no joint/muscle pain, my fatigue was almost...
  8. Hi Sarah, I'm new to much of this too...I'm mainly replying because I saw that you're from Sacramento, which is where I'm from too. Which doctor is ordering your daughter's blood tests? I just had a blood draw yesterday too for Prometheus, & am hoping to get some good answers about my own health problems. I have a 3 year-old daughter who doesn't have...
  9. Hi- I'm looking for celiac/GI doctors in the Sacramento, CA area. Any ideas? Also, any thoughts on allergists in that area too? Thanks for your help!
  10. I'm going to see my primary doctor next Thursday (6/28) to talk about options to rule out/in celiac. I've been gluten free since January to treat symptoms of fibromyagia (very successful!!) and now I want to see if I am Celiac or not (I've realized I have had many symptoms of Celiac in the past). Should I take a "gluten challenge" prior to seeing the doc...
  11. Has anyone ever had negative results from the tests done at EnteroLab? Seems like everyone I've read about on these forums has always had positive results. Do they always give positive results to everyone? Seems like some people might not test positive? Just considering all my options; I'm new to all of this & trying to figure out what to do next...
  12. I've been gluten free since January `07 in hopes of alleviating my symptoms of fibromyalgia, & it's been very successful. However, after reading many websites like this one, & reading various books, I'm wondering if I have undiagnosed Celiac (or gluten intolerance of some degree). So, I've made an appointment with my primary doc, but he can't get...
  13. Hello, I'm new to all of this "forum" stuff, but wanted to share my story in hopes of getting some advice or suggestions on how to proceed with my health problemsas they relate to gluten intolerance. I am a 35 year old woman, & I first developed symptoms of arthritis & soft tissue problems at least 15 years ago, when I had back surgery for herniated...
