  1. Hi, I was diagnosed with DH back in June of this year. My DH doesn't nessarily match the "textbook" descriptions in my opinion. I would get red bumps, that would BURN if I touched them on anything. Mine were never blisters, would never pop open or scab over. I would get them on my elbows, knees, the back of my calves, sometimes, rarely, I think I would...
  2. I had previously posted the ingredients when I first purchased them. I went back and found the post, so here are the ingredients: They are called Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch, the ingredients are as follows: Peanuts, sunflower seeds, sugar, corn syrup, salt, and almond flour.
  3. I was also missing granola bars. I recently found a new product at Sams Club, haven't seen it in regular stores. It's Nature's Valley Roasted Nut Crunch. I love them!
  4. I know, sick and wrong. But I used to eat these at lease once a week. I want to try attempting to make them on my own, but have no clue about what to use for the "secret sauce". Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! Stephanie
  5. A second opinion wouldn't hurt. See if you can find a local Celiac group that might have suggestions on a reputable dr. Hope you get feeling better soon. Stephanie
  6. Hi All, I thought I would let everyone know of a new product I found today. I have been sad that I have not been able to find a very good cereal bar/granola bar type thing for snacks. My husband and I were at Sam's club today and he of course was running around sampling everything He finally yells at me to come back and look at these bars, so I...
  7. Hi Cheryl, Welcome to the board, this is a great place for information. I don't know a whole lot about PCOS, but I do know that it can cause issues when trying to get pregnant. I belong to another board, and a lot of ladies with PCOS have to take glucophage or metaphormin (sp) these are pills to help with the insulin resistance. So do you have celiac...
  8. Hello, I was recently diagnosed a month or so ago, so I don't have a lot of info. But I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I have been trying for three and a half years, so I know your pain. Have you had any kind of fertility work up? Contact me anytime if you need someone to talk. Take care, Stephanie
  9. I am paraphrasing - taken from the Living Gluten Free for Dummies book. Gluten Intolerance - Means that that your body doesn't react well to a particular food and you should avoid it. Notice she said should. Celiac - Is a genetic intolerance to gluten. Triggered by eating gluten, the immune system responds by attacking the gluten molecule, and in...
  10. Hi, welcome to the board! Definately sounds like DH to me. I am curious though who told you not to follow the gluten free diet? That just seems crazy to me. Everything I have read, even if you are asymptomatic you are still doing damage, which is evidenced by your biopsy. I have read a couple of posts mentioning something for the itch, but I...
  11. Welcome to the board and I would find a new doctor.
  12. Thanks Janet. I will go check Wal-Mart today. I have found that if you spend over $25.00 on Amazon shipping is free. They have a huge gluten free selection and most are a great deal. It does seem that the mac n cheese is not though. Thanks again for your reply. Stephanie
  13. Hi All, So, I looked for this stuff at Albertson's today and could not find it. I am about to put in an order on Amazon, they have a case of 12 for $23.88, is this a good buy? Also, since I haven't actually eaten this stuff before, does it really taste like the stuff in the box? I appreciate any input. Stephanie
  14. Welcome and I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I was recently diagnosed as well and the first couple of weeks were very overwhelming. I think I ate baked potatoes and some sort of mexican food every day for over a week I too was hungry all the time even when I was through eating I felt as if I hadn't eaten a thing. But that has subsided...
  15. WOW, thanks for that list. I wasn't able to find anything like this specific to Utah, so thanks. This is a great list, but the small towns you mentioned will not have these restaurants. I do knot that Moab has Burker King, McDonald's, and maybe a Wendy's.
  16. Matt, I don't really have any recommendations for that part of Utah since they are quite small towns. I am fairly new to eating gluten free, but I have read several posts about non-chain restaurants seem to be more accommodating. There is a place called Smitty's in Moab that I LOVE, not sure about the gluten free though. Anyways, not that I was much...
  17. Don't have much advice, but wanted to welcome you to the board. Good luck. Stephanie
  18. Meredith, I don't have any advice, but just wanted to say sorry. It's amazing that there are still SO many doctor's that know very little to nothing about Celiac or DH. I am starting to feel better physically (still getting new rashes everyday) so I have decided I am not going to bother trying to get a biopsy. I mainly wanted this to show what kind...

  22. Are all the Altoid products unsafe? Thanks, Stephanie
  23. Taken from the Jamba Juice website: Does Jamba Juice offer gluten-free products? Yep! All smoothies EXCEPT Coldbuster
  24. Thanks Jenny! It's just myself and my husband so I don't think we could go through that much flour before it went bad. Stephanie.
  25. Has anyone had any issues with buying gluten free flours from eBay? I guess the big thing to be concerned about would be CC. Or does anyone know a good store (probably online) where you can buy bulk flours so you can mix your own? It just seems like this would be so much more cheaper than buying it pre-mixed. Thanks, Stephanie
