  1. Ok. So here's what happened. I have been gluten free for like almost a year now. Just this past month, I consumed 0 gluten/casein, I had 0 symptoms. Then a few days ago, I got either glutened or caseined, idk. I'm betting that it was casein that did this to me. Before I went dairy free, my symptoms weren't all that bad. I would have a little gas for half...
  2. Thanks. I went shopping today and bought some zip lock bags. The thing that worries me is that me and my mom share the canola oil in our house (It's a gluten free brand but i'm worried. I'm afraid that maybe I could get contaminated from doing this. I just thought about it a while ago.) It's in a container that you pour out of, but idk if I should be worried...
  3. Kind've like my situation, here at my house. Just be glad you have your own pantry to begin with. As for me, I don't have my own pantry. I have to share the cabinet with my family because I can't afford to buy a shelf and there isn't enough space in this house anyway. I want to move out and live with my fiance, who is very sensative to my condition, but my...
  4. Actually, I live with my parents and they think i'm crazy. They won't split the shelves because they pay the bills so they think they own everything. They take my condition very lightly, not really caring about cross contamination much. It's very frustrating and stressful on me to have to deal with this every single day. Not alot of people I know understand...
  5. The mini kitchen thing sounds like a good idea, but I'm not that wealthy. I can't afford to buy a microwave and a bunch of cabinets. I'm currently unemployed atm so thats really hard to do.
  6. Thanks, I don't use any wooden spoons or collenders, I have a cat that eats gluten food. I don't see what the difference would make if I changed my shampoo. I don't wash my hair very often and since I live with people that eat gluten, they are probably contaminating everything in this house. And that is completely beyond my control. This is way too difficult...
  7. That is pathetic. If that were my husband, he wouldn't have heard the end of it from me. I have a very low tolerance for those who refuse to accept illnesses and brush them off as simple conditions. This very same thing has actually happened to me. A family member took food from my plate without asking and boy was I mad. I made them eat the rest of it because...
  8. Hi, I came in to this forum in the middle of last year, I was dx'd in april of last year and I still can't seem to get this diet down exactly how I want it. I replaced most of my cooking wear, still in the process of buying some dishes exclusively for me, changed my body wash, hand soap, and lotion, and I cleaned up my workspace. (I couldn't change my shampoo...
  9. Yes, I prepare most of the food myself and I check the labels well...But what I donot understand is that sometimes, when i'm not even eating, my stomach begins to hurt. I have a super big appetite, but my stomach aches keep me from eating sometimes. I've been to the doctor to check to see if I had inflammatory bowel disease or even stomach cancer, all came...
  10. Before I changed my diet, I had sores all the time. Like once every week or so. Was really bad. Now, I hardly ever get them. Last time I had a sore was 3 months ago. It might be something you're eating thats giving you sores too. Salty foods, chips, mints, certain toothpaste, citrus.
  11. Okay, here's what I eat, in a nutshell: -Almond milk (blue diamond and sometimes, i make my own almond milk too) -Gluten free/dairy free cereal -fruit -vegetables -rice/rice pasta/pinto beans -yogurt (sometimes i eat yogurt, it doesnt bother me though) -chicken/turkey/beef/pork -gel snacks (gluten/casein free) -organic gluten free/casein free french...
  12. I've been eating gluten/casein free for about 3 months (gluten free for 7 months, i got rid of dairy 3 months ago) and I still have some symptoms. I still get bloated sometimes and my stomach hurts every now and then. But even after going gluten and dairy free, I still have symptoms. Could I be suffering from something else too? I no longer have medical coverage...

    ARCHIVED Bloating

I still bloat and i've been gluten free for almost 5 months. I don't bloat as often as before but, it's still there. I'm off dairy and it's absolute hell. First I can't eat wheat, now I can't eat dairy. Soon, I'll probably find that soy bugs me too...I found that cheddar doesn't upset my stomach tho.
  14. I would have to say that i've gone atleast 1 year without diagnosis. After I graduated from highschool, I started to drop alot of lbs mysteriously even though I was eatting alot. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with celiac disease or not. I didn't really have many symptoms until after a year working at my job. I started getting symptoms while I was...
  15. I didn't take any medication for my DH. It went away on it's own with a gluten free diet. Although I still have problems like gas and bloating, I no longer have DH like I used to. I had it on my chest, shoulders, arms and a little on my back before I went gluten free. It takes a few months to a year if you're just starting the diet to see improvements on...
  16. I have a boyfriend. I don't think I ever meantioned that I have a boyfriend. He's great. Only problem is my mom doesn't allow him to come over to see me, so I call him on the phone and go out with him when I get the chance. He's very open to this diet and he tries to eat gluten free just so I don't feel bad. He's offered to let me stay at his place because...
  17. Okay. Everyone is saying that I need to go back to a doctor and get things checked out. But I can't. Do you understand that I can't go back to a doctor? My medical coverage has run out a few months ago and so im screwed. The last job I worked at did not give medical insurance for some strange reason. I was diagnosed before insurance ran out. I tried going...
  18. THANKYOU. And i'm gonna go break something now. This all seems like a really bad nightmare. I honestly can't live like this any longer.
  19. god...These forums aren't really helping me either. All everyone does is talk about their positive experiances. I NEVER HAD ANY POSITIVE EXPERIANCES! I slip up too damn much and my life is hell right now. I feel like a 50 year old worrying about my health and getting cancer and all that other bull #$%@. I'm extremely angry because i'm doing everything I can...
  20. i've cut out most dairy and soy. The only dairy that i can tolerate is cascade yogurt once every other day with no problem. i do not eat straight cheese or drink milk. my diet consists of mainly lean chicken or turkey, some beef, vegetables, fruits, noodles, and kikinikk bread (i do not have any reaction to kikinikk bread btw) my problems went away when...
  21. i've been doing all I can to stay gluten free. I've been doing this diet since april of this year. I would be feeling perfectly fine. I would read every single label on every single product I buy, do research and call up companies for information, I changed my soap, lotion, and body wash, bought a new toothbrush, bought new rags, new pots and pans, cleaned...
  22. Oh god. I did that a few days ago...I didn't read the label on the ketchup and got sick...When I get sick, it takes me about almost a month to get back to 90ish%. And yea, I get terrible mood swings when i'm glutened. Everyone thinks i'm just naturally angry and upset. But it's the gluten I tell you! Utherwise, i'm the nicest person on the planet.
  23. Thank you so much for the list NoGlugirl. You must know exactly how I feel then. Everyone calling you spoiled and lazy when you're really just sick and need some support. I have gotten 0 support since I was first diagnosed. That was about 5 months ago. I'm thinking about buying some new pots and pans because they're not guaranteed to be fully clean due...
  24. I honestly don't know what to do atm...I don't know if my soap and hair products have gluten in them. I have really difficult to manage hair and Alberto VO5 is the only product that works in my hair. Seriously. I heard that if you wash your hands after using lotion and shampoo, its ok...But idk about my soap. This whole thing is just driving me insane...My...
  25. My mom isn't much of a reader or a listener. If I handed her a book about Celiac disease, she wouldn't read it. If someone talked to her one on one about celiac disease, she wouldn't care to listen basically. She wants to believe that everyone in the family is in perfect shape and noone can get sick, and if you get sick, it's because you did something to...
