  1. You sound like me, similar symptoms, simliar age (I'm 26) - my folks told me the same thing, that food with a lot of yeast bother them. All my tests (including celiac) came back negative, etc, etc. Do you drink at all? If so, do you notice certain drinks bother you more than others (beer vs liquor - or Beer Brand A vs Beer ? After all my tests...
  2. I did my breathe test on Saturday - took my big bag o' air back to the doc first thing this morning - we'll see what the results say. I noticed when I drank the lactulose (little medicine/drink) almost immediately (a couple minutes) I noticed my guts started rumbling and had the big "d" (kinda - little different) for a couple hours & then it went away...
  3. With my test I'm supposed to breathe into the bags every 30 mintues for 5 hrs!!!! Yeah!! another 14hr fast for me The stinking time involved has delayed my completion of this test. The doctor recommended FloraQ probiotic. I've heard that the capsules aren't necessarily as stable as liquid form though. I've been drinking Bio-K. So far I can definitely...
  4. My regular doc gave me some sort of stool test - it wasn't a multi day sample or anything. It was one sample into 4 different vials of various liquids. She also did blood & urine tests. My GI doc did more blood and a biopsy when he did the colon/endoscopy. I haven't seen the actual paperwork for any of these tests though - The nurses for each doctor...
  5. I was researching via the web on my symptoms & possible causes & treatments. I still have the hydrogen breathe test to complete for my GI Doc. I was reading about bacteria overgrowth & what all it can do to your system. While my symptoms have definitely responded to the gluten-free diet, I'm not totally convinced that it is the root...
  6. I haven't drank, until this weekend, for months - it sucks - I LOVE beer!! I can't drink it though. I quit smoking & about the time I quit is when all this started. Since then, I ended up smoking again - American Spirit 100% organic lights. If I can refrain from smoking more than 1 or 2 per day - for some reason they help calm my tummy, but I need...
  7. No the brats and buns was the final trigger that sent me into the doc - My gluten-free works at Wild Oats and she happened to bring home some cheese & chips (my total favorite) that happened to be gluten free. I ate that one day - and it didn't affect me at all - I felt like I actually ate something. I can't skip dairy altogether, not yet. I'm too...
  8. So is mine, but I dont seem to be moving anything - passing clear liquid freaked me out, but now its little pellets - I feel like I could drop half my body weight, it just wont go, though Do you smoke? or drink any alcohol?
  9. So update - I felt great since I went off gluten about 2 weeks ago - until now Over ther weekend had a few drinks (tanqueray vodka, redbridge beer) Stayed gluten free (possible gluten in tater tots from the late night diner?) Come Monday - new set o' symptoms - quick painful cramping *new one for me, bloating, fatigue, D, confusion, and one very peculiar...
  10. I had the same symptoms - got all my test done - nothing showed up. Up until then same deal - 1st thing in the morning - fluffy, mucousy, etc. So I've been gluten free for 2 weeks now. Most of that went away - I had some drinks over the weekend (tanqueray vodka & redbridge beer - not together though) Unleashed fury Sunday. Monday & part of...
  11. I had endo/colonoscopy run with biopsy (according to doc - stomach lining biopsy, not intestinal), and bloodx2, stool, urine Everything came back negative. Felt bad, couldn't figure it out. I stumbled across this site researching my symptoms. I've tried going gluten-free for about a week now - & I feel a TON better. I have energy now & I dont...
  12. I dont know too much about mayo in general, but has anyone looked into Veganaisse or more noteably Grapeseed Oil Veganaisse? My gluten-free buys the grapessed oil veganaisse & I've got to say, I like it
  13. Thanks!!! Thank you for your help. I've been looking into the Wild Oats gluten-free more. It kinda sucks because my gluten-free works there and always brings home some sort of soup or cookie or something that they serve/make in house & that stuff is harder to track down gluten-free or not. Creamy soups (like a cream of mushroom or clam chowder...
  14. OMFG!!! I am soooooooo glad I stumbled onto this thread! ALL of symptoms became extremely apparent when I quit cold-turkey 4 months ago. I always had nicotine induced BMs, but once I quit, it was like my system didn't know what to do. I stayed quit for 4 months and was I started seeing my GI, I started smoking again - mostly due to stress and fasting...
  15. So.....12 BM's per day isn't normal? Sweating, bloating, anger, and explosive gas after meals isn't either I kept up on the doc, so far my testing has saidy otherwise, but a couple days ago I started to try gluten-free, since I could "safely" eat corn chips and cheese or corn tortillas and meat. So I tried to keep up the gluten-free & so far...
  16. Certain kinds of beer will do me in right away - Bell's Two Hearted - probably my favorite, at one time - will now put me on the floor after one or two. I never thought about it until I got on this site. A couple times in the past when I have drank it, I got imediately "drunk" - not good, but swirling pass out sick drunk with 1 or 2! I missed work...
  17. Cool, I didn't know, thought I'd ask. In the past I've had several severe reactions to a certain couple beers (Bells Two-hearted Ale will literally put down on the floor within 1 or 2 beers, passed out, missing work the next day cause I'm still passed out on the floor) but I've never had a reaction like that to liquor.
  18. According to the GIG (Gluten-Intolerance Group) wines and distilled spirits (aka hard-liquor) are gluten free. Obviously beer isn't. I've read several posts that speak of sensitivities to alcohols like vodka - Shouldn't that be gluten free as well? Or is it more a case or irritating a preexisting problem by drinking?
  19. Bio-K comes in dairy and non-dairy (soy) variety. The non-dairy is labeled gluten-free. They are the refrigerated small drink type. The non-dairy actually tastes way better. I found these at Wild Oats.
  20. Yeah, pretty much the Whole Foods/Wild Oats deal is gone - especially after the Whole Foods CEO's shenanigans came out online. FTC started investigation into monopoly and it ended up finding that the CEO had been perusing finance sights under an assumed name (an acronym of his wifes) slandering Wild Oats and boasting about the superiority of Whole Foods...
  21. The GI doc did mention that he was testing for Celiac went I went in. They told me I checked out fine and that it was "probably IBS", WTF!?. I have a follow up appt with him Sept 11th (weird). I am going to try to get the paperwork from the tests I've already done, if nothing else - have someone else go over the results.
  22. Ok - I first posted yesterday after much reading of this board - I've been dealng with many GI issues just like I've been reading around hear (diarrhea - fatty, orange stools that float, gas, bloating, constipation - not too much, fatigue). I've thought about seeing a head doctor for anxiety/depression/fatigue/generalized brain fog. Recently went...
  23. Hi! I'm new to this - 1st post yesterday - trying gluten free - on day 3 I'm wondering about a couple different foods if they do/do not have gluten or CC Tylenol - or more specifically generic (Meijer Brand) acitometophin (sp?) Wild Oats Corn Tortillas - 100% Corn but aren't labeled gluten-free Coffee-Mate Blueberry Cobbler Powdered Creamer ...
  24. Near vegetarian - for me - mostly veggies, some meat (grilled or baked chicken) - usually days apart. A whole lot of wheat pasta, beans, tomato sauce. I'll have eggs for breakfast on the weekends & tuna salad sandwiches for lunch at work. Would going gluten free before the breathe test affect the test? I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt so...
  25. I've been trying to find out whats wrong with me/my diet - For around 4 months now (coincidentally the same time I quit smoking) I developed chronic diarrhea 8-12 times/day-everyday, painful gas, intermittent back pain (kidney area - it usually gets a lump), major fatigue, bloating, and sometimes headaches or fever. My regular doc did a stool, blood, and...
