  1. Hope you feel better soon and get it checked out when you can. It sounds awfully painful
  2. No advice, just jealous. I love Maui and my husband and I are planning to go back in 2 years. Have fun!
  3. I don't really like the vanilla personally and neither did my daughter when she was that age. I actually would give her the plain Silk, or soy infant formula just to get her the extra calories. Have you tried Almond Milk? I know he may be a bit young for nuts but some people don't worry about almonds.
  4. I had a bone density scan on Monday and my doctor calls today saying it shows Osteopenia (?). I know this isn't uncommon in Celiacs. Aurg.. I am so frustrated all I can do is laugh! Like are you kidding me, here I am 33yrs old, I have lost 35lbs this year, have lost another 8 since I was diagnosed a few weeks ago(there is nothing left to lose), have the...
  5. I felt terrible after mine. Took me about 2 days to feel better. Tired, nauseas, vomiting, stomach pains, the works... My in laws thought I would be just fine and brought my 2 little ones home 30 mins after I got home! Aurg.. Hope you feel better!!
  6. I am sorry, that is a bummer. Next time I would sneak it in my purse, heck maybe just sneak in some cake!! I feel like maybe I should sneak something in everywhere I go. I had my first gluten free pizza the other day and it really lifted my spirits except for it was gluten free AND dairy free . Hang in there!
  7. Awesome! Good job!
  8. I have been planning making this same post. My sister has a gluten/ wheat intolerance (along with a bunch of other intolerances) but has only had the food sensitivity test. What is the difference in testing? I have only had the Celiac blood panel and biopsy. If she has a gluten/wheat sensitivity is it likely she actually has Celiac? I am asking because...
  9. Thanks guys! I am trying to figure this whole gluten-free thing out and then I remember oh yeah I am supposed to go dairy free for 3 months too, augh! Atleast my Dr Pepper is on the safe list
  10. I have been walking through life with no idea I was Celiac or real symptoms from gluten. I just thought it was me, how my body was, never really thought anything was wrong (except losing 30lbs). It is actually my biggest fear about my recovery, that I won't know if I accidentally ingest gluten.
  11. Very cool! ! Hope she has a great birthday! My daughter's first bday is in 2 weeks and have no idea how to tackle a gluten-free cake!
  12. Yes they are, too bad they have MSG another thing I can't have:( Enjoy them!!
  13. I have been gluten free since monday, when I had my endoscopy so I guess today would be 6 days. I really feel like I am going to lose it. I am so overwhelmed. I am in the "I can't have rut", and having a hard time finding what I can. I know the list is huge of what I can but it is just stressful! I have no groceries, made a special trip today to a store...
  14. By the looks of that letter I would be sceptical about buying any Archer Farms product right now. They need all that info for each item?? Do they're products differ that much from package size to package size etc.. They certainly aren't jumping up and down to help. Bummer.. Good for you for writing them!
  15. I was about to ask the same question What was told to me is that if they are from Ireland they are ok because there is little risk of contamination?? Is that right? I'd rather be cautious at this point though and have cut it out for the time being.
  16. Husband. DH= Darling husband, DD darling daughter, etc.. yes dx is diagnosis.. HTH (hope that helps)
  17. DH is a chef, he often has people ask specific questions about seasonings/ marinades etc... May restaurants now have a Gluten free menu, which is basically just items on there current menu and how to order them gluten-free. Just ask the manager/ Chef, DH actually likes it and takes pride in when he can help someone with a very specific request. GL
  18. Jeanne- thanks for the info, so that is something they outgrow?? Fiddle-Faddle- I haven't actually talked to anyone who had been and TPN during pregnacy before. Sorry you had to go through that too. Yes I was induced early also, I developed a DVT so was anti-coagulated, had placenta previa, and a few other issues. She was born healthy except for Apnea...
  19. No I don't mind the interrogation at all!! First of all I didn't know I was having Celiac symptoms, I thought I was a mess from the pregnancy and postpartum. My dr became alarmed about 6 weeks ago when she noticed I have lost over 30lbs. I really had no idea, I have been in a fog, exhausted and generally haven't felt very good gosh since I had her. I had...
  20. Can someone explain to me the deal with Blue Cheese.. Is it safe or not?! I am completely confused by it.
  21. Wow! I had no idea that you could cross contaminate like this!! So are metal utensils better? What about cutting boards wood/plastic? I am working on my whole house going gluten-free so it shouldn't be a huge issue but should I replace my kitchen stuff?
  22. My biopsy was Monday and had the results yesterday, although there was no question on Monday after the biopsy. Goodluck with your biopsy! This is such an interesting Topic. I thought my symptoms were just me and normal for me. Brain Fog- yup have that, so I guess I am not just an airhead good to know. Constipation Bloatedness Irritability...
  23. Thanks for that! I needed to hear that.. I know I had heard that before about third world countries, just needed to hear someone else say it.
  24. Ok, so this is probably not the right place to post this but the closest I am newly diagnosed and have been breastfeeding my 11 month old. She is "failure to thrive". Is this bc of my celiacs? I am concerned that I have ended up unknowingly deprived her. I wanted to give her the best start I could and now well.. little bummed at the idea that this is because...
  25. Glad you asked this question! I was wondering the same thing, I am 3 days in and I feel terrible, and incredibly cranky. I assume it is just the stress and reality catching up with me. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!
