ARCHIVED I'm Getting Gluten In Somewhere! Please Help!
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for that info. I am working with a nutritionist who said I need to have a lot of variety and rotation in my diet so we'll see if that helps! -
ARCHIVED I'm Getting Gluten In Somewhere! Please Help!
LoriG posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there, I really need some guidance. I've been gluten-free 5 months and CF 3 months. I see a ND who I saw last week and he confirmed I recently got gluten in (I've been sick so I know it) and it doesn't appear my malabsorption is getting better. I MUST be getting it in somewhere!? I unfortunately don't have immediate, obvious symptoms so I'm not sure... -
Jason, I also know how you feel. I've been at this 5 months and have seen very little improvement. I also have symptoms of fatigue and constipation. What has helped me immensely with the constipation is a product called Natural Calm Magnesium. You mix it in a tea and can adjust the amounts. I see a natural doctor who uses energy/biophysics to diagnose...

ARCHIVED Not Better 5 Months Later - Please Help!
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know my thyroid is playing a part, too. This is why it is hard because my symptoms are very common for both diseases. My tsh level is suppressed, free t3 is 3.3 (trying to get it up to the top of the range which is 4.0) and free t4 is mid range. I am on 3 grains (180mg) of armour. -
ARCHIVED How Careful Do You Need To Be In The Kitchen?
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you for all of the suggestions. I am really not getting better all that fast and decided I really need to start paying attention to the small details like the kitchen and soaps/shampoos etc. I am afraid I am making mistakes and don't know where! I didn't think about the colander. Doesn't the dishwasher clean that spotless? How can gluten hang around... -
ARCHIVED How Careful Do You Need To Be In The Kitchen?
LoriG posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am the only gluten-free person in the house. Right now we share pots/pans/cooking utensils/colanders. I have my own toaster and use a cutting board that is washed in the dishwasher. Everything is washed there really! Can gluten hang onto these utensils? How do I make my kitchen safe? -
ARCHIVED Not Better 5 Months Later - Please Help!
LoriG posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there, I really need some help and advice from those who understand. I have been gluten-free 5 months and CF 3 months. My symptoms are: chronic fatigue, depression, irritability, insomnia, and constipation. I have suffered for years trying to figure out what is going on. I was also diagnosed hypothyroid in 2002. Finally, enterolab results gave me... -

ARCHIVED Meridian Stress Assessment/food Allergies
LoriG posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi all- This is the first time I am posting to this thread and saw some of you talking about this testing. I have been gluten-free 4-1/2 months, CF 2-1/2 months. I still have symptoms of chronic fatigue, irritability, sometimes constipation, depression - these have always been my symptoms. I am also hypothyroid. Some have told me that I'm not... -
ARCHIVED Should I Only Eat Products Labeled gluten-free?
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Gemini, Thanks for your reply. Trust me - I have been around and around w/ my thyroid this past 6 years and have educated myself. I know now to test tsh, free t3, free t4. I think because of the gluten, I wasn't able to get my thyroid regulated or something. I was initially on levoxyl 6 years ago, and then in 2006 went to a natural doctor who... -
ARCHIVED Should I Only Eat Products Labeled gluten-free?
LoriG posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi all, I have been gluten-free 4-1/2 months and CF 2-1/2 months. My symptoms before enterolab results were chronic fatigue, insomnia, constipation, irritability, and depression. Since going gluten-free, insomnia and constipation are better, but I am learning the fatigue is the worst. I just drag through life. I also am hypothyroid. Anyway,... -
ARCHIVED I Think I'm Going To Eat Gluten On Purpose!
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks you all for your responses. I don't think I am going to chance it afterall. I am so desperate to start feeling well that I don't want to set myself back even more. I was glad to read that some of you are experiencing different glutened symptoms so it may be hard to tell. It was also encouraging to read that it does take time, which I've read before... -
ARCHIVED I Think I'm Going To Eat Gluten On Purpose!
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks Tim-n-VA I think that is a good idea because I have also eliminated dairy so what would I be reacting to, then? I am hoping for an immediate obvious reaction because that would help me then in this healing process to know when I get it by cc or otherwise. Good luck to you! -
ARCHIVED I Think I'm Going To Eat Gluten On Purpose!
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you everyone for replying. I wanted to clear up that I wasn't planning on eating gluten on a continuous basis, only trying it for one meal like pizza and monitor how I feel. I want to do this so I KNOW what eating gluten would do so I would not question if I am getting in gluten and not knowing it. This is because I don't have the usual symptoms... -
ARCHIVED I Think I'm Going To Eat Gluten On Purpose!
LoriG posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there- Just looking for some of your suggestions because I am thinking of eating gluten on purpose to see what happens. I was diagnosed by enterolab and have been gluten-free 4 months and CF for 2 months. I have had years of ill health and it took me going around and around with doctors to finally figure out what it was. This was due to my symptoms... -
ARCHIVED First Gfcf Christmas -- Gluteny Gifts
LoriG replied to zarfkitty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I also have had a bad day feeling bummed about food! I have a sister who recently told me she thinks "I take it too far" - ugh! She has it, too, but is in denial. She said that because whenever we get together I have to choose the restaurant and sort of make a big deal about it. Now we are having people over for Christmas this Friday and people wanted... -
ARCHIVED Seriously, How Long Is This Going To Take?
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks again for the tips. Yes, I have read a lot about soy, too, but honestly I mentally cannot handle cutting that out, too. I don't have symptoms that come and go so it is hard to determine a pattern. I watch my soy consumption because of my thyroid. Yes, I am watching ingredients as far as dairy. I have a friend allergic to dairy so she's been... -
ARCHIVED Seriously, How Long Is This Going To Take?
LoriG replied to LoriG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you everyone for your speedy reply! It sure helps to hear I am not alone and this does take awhile. I have 2 friends who also said it was at least 6 months before they felt better. Yikes! To answer some questions: I am being careful about cc as best I know how. I was diagnosed by enterolab and I will check out the lyme disease info. My 2 biggest... -
ARCHIVED Seriously, How Long Is This Going To Take?
LoriG posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hello- I have been gluten-free 3 months and dairy free 6 weeks and seriously, I am not that much better! My ND says it can take anywhere from 9 months to 2 years for the gut to completely heal. This is an extremely difficult diet to follow especially since I'm not feeling better. I would be so much more motivated if I felt better! I must say... -

ARCHIVED Pacific Brand Almond Milk Isn't Soy Free Or Is It?
LoriG posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've seen on this website people recommending Pacific brand for almond milk because it is gluten, casein, and soy free, but I see SOY LECHITIN in the ingredients list. And it even says on the container, a good soy alternative?! Huh! I am looking for a almond milk that is free of all of it! Any thoughts? -

ARCHIVED Frustrated - Not Getting Well/questions About Enterolab
LoriG posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there- I got my enterolab results and it said I have a celiac gene and gluten intolerance gene, positive antibodym(18), and moderate malabsorption score (771) SO I believe I have Celiac's Disease because I haven't felt good my whole life. I also have hashimoto's thyroid disease - so between the two I am still very, very fatigued, constipated, and... -
