    I use hydrocortisone (brand name Cortaid). I use 2.5% when it's bad, and 1% when it's mild. The 2.5% is prescription, but you can get the 1% over-the-counter. I have an extremely bad case of excema on my face... sometimes my eyelids swell closed, itch and flake, but since I started using hydrocortisone, I've been able to control the symptoms.     I had a false negative, but my regular doc only ran 2 of the tests, and the most unreliable 2 at that! I learned recently that there are 5 blood tests that should be run on a potential celiac. I had the other blood tests done and had low vit d and other signs just as your husband does. Did your husband get all 5 celiac tests done? It doesn't matter...

    Biopsy done! I'm such a baby. :-) I had my husband drop me off at the hospital and go home (he was making me MORE nervous). I sat in the lobby and cried for 10 minutes before heading to the clinic. I thught I had pulled myself together, but as soon as I checked in, I started bawling again. I know...     Alex, Ice water's a good idea...I'll have to bend over the sink so I'm less tempted to swallow. :-) I also thought I'd try chewing gum. Sometimes that helps activate the saliva glands. I've been thinking that I should binge on all my favorite glutenous food tonight just in case I'm put on the gluten-free diet tomorrow. :-) Thanks for the suggestion...

    My endoscopy is tomorrow and I'm terribly anxious. Although I've tried, I've failed to be nonchalant about it all. I've obsessed about my symptoms and the possibilities of feeling so much better if I have celiac and go on the gluten-free diet. I've gone to a ton of websites and read lots of postings on this site.
