If you are willing to travell to western Nassau then you can go see Dr Gautum Ready. He is the best in my hard headed opinion. His number is 516-825-8484 or you can go to www.gastrocareli.com.

Hey all,
I'm new to the board and am looking for some help! My Girlfriend has Celiacs disease and has a birthday next week. The one thing she said she misses the most are bagels and I was hoping to do something nice for her. While I realize this isn't much, I know that if she were to wake up next week and was able to eat something she has missed so much, it would make her day/week/month!
So, my question to you all would be: Where is the best place to find something like this? I've done some looking around online and have been to my local Whole Foods, but I'm curious to know which has the "best" in your opinion? Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!
Joans Gluten Free Bagels are by far the best.

Just because you eat a product that is gluten free and you stomach gives you problems doesnt mean that product gave you the contamination. You might have other sensitivities or accidently ingested gluten with prior foods you may have eaten that day.

Coming from a Big MCDs fan prior to Diagnosis I say McDonalds sucks for not proving any real options for Celiac Sufferers. But I do love Wendys and get them at least once a week.

There is a new restaurant in Long Beach, La Bottega 36 E Park Ave., 516-442-0982. When I noticed that there is a restaurant by the same name in Oceanside, I looked them up on line thinking that they might be a chain. Their website is not finished but the Long Beach location said that they can make gluten-free panini. I called and they said yes. I immediately did a little happy dance and then had them fax my office a menu. So today we ordered. When I picked up I asked why they were the only location offering gluten-free and she (owner? manager?) said her husband has Celiac so she knows what to do. The rolls are from "Everybody Eats" and they wrap it in tinfoil before it goes in the press. She said eventually the other locations will do it but she has to educate them. So I just finished mine and it was delicious! I never eat sandwiches at work. This was a strange sight to those around me. Call them and they'll fax you a menu.
Awesome. I live in Long Beach and pass that place all the time.

I neveer had any problems with their gluten free foods.com.

I believe that was the price I paid for them. Finally made the brownie mix last night and they where amazing. Just have to try the two cake mixes now. So far 5 stars for both the cookie and brownie mix.

They are in the regular bakery aisle.

Im no lawyer but I think the new laws must state if the product contains one of the eight top allergans which in this case is Wheat. So if it had say rye in it then wheat would not show.

Try Pathmark here in Long Island they have all four mixes.

The Pathmark in Bethpage NY has all four mixes. I bought them all for $4.19 each one. Didnt have a chance to bake any of them yet.

Bare Naked Bakeries in Bellmore is totally gluten free. Chiles, PF Changs, and Texas Roadhouse has gluten free menus. A great place to shop is Wild by Nature and Uncle Guissippis with multiple locations.
