  3. Gemini- Some quick things: 1) the doctor saw the damage during the Upper endoscopy part of my exam yesterday. He said something to the effect that the villi (or whatever ) looked pushed over-whatever that means. 2) I had 2 sets of blood tests done. One done before I went gluten free and one 6 months after. Both sets came back negative. But, I do have...
  4. I finally found an excellent and up to date doctor in my area (His name is Doctor Laskin out of Paoli Hospital in PA if you are interested) and he ran the standard blood work on me to determine if I have Celiacs or are just gluten sensitive. While I tested positively genetically, he felt that my blood work didn't come back strongly enough to have Celiacs...

  11. Hi All, I hope you don't mind a newbie jumping in on your thread In late October/early November I realized that I can't tolerate gluten. I have not had the official testing done with a gi because I can't bare to eat gluten any more to get the test done. 12. I have been gluten free for about 2 months now and my life has completely changed for the better. Now that I feel well, I would like to get my weight down. 13. I have thought about everything you all have said and how absolutely ill I feel after 3 days back on the gluten-and, I have decided to cancel that proceedure (the endoscope) and stop eating gluten. I just don't think that I will survive if I keep eating gluten. So, I will look into endolab and see what that entails. But, I thank you for allof your help...
  14. I am not a doctor so I don't know for certain, but that doesn't sound correct to me. Hopefully, more knowledgable others on this board will respond. Good Luck!!

  16. kbtoyssni & buffettbride, Thanks for responding!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and info as well. I got the blood work done and one of the test came back abnormal. I did the gluten free diet challenge and I felt 100% better so when this endoscopy is done then I am going off gluten. The doc I went to was part of a practice that was suggested...
  17. Saw my GI doc yesterday and he wants to do the endoscopy which I agreed to since I decided it was better to know for sure. But, here is where he confussed me. He said that either you have Celiac and are allergic to gluten or you are not. Having Celiac and an allergy to gluten are one in the same. If you don't have Celiac, then you shoud go about eating...

  19. My chiropractor just got me the results of my blood tests The only item that was out of order was the Gliadin Antibody (IGG) where anything above a 17 was positive, I got a 45. But, all of the other numbers were normal. So, am I wasting my time going to a GI doctor? Will they just tell me it is not enough evidence to be concerned? Just wondering what you...

  21. Would someone please explain to me the differnce between Celiac disease and gluten intolerance. My allergist saw my blood test results and told me I needed a GI doctor and not her. Would that rule out gluten intolerance? I am really confussed by all of this. Thanks!!!

  23. Is there any benefit to getting an official diagnosis?
  24. Angie, I see that you are from Pennsylvania-so am I!! Are you from the Philly area? If so, can you share who your doctor is???Thanks!!
  25. I have already started on the gluten free diet and already I feel so much better. In fact, I never want to eat gluten again. Question: would a doctor ever diagnosis you with celiac if you haven't done the biopsi but responded well to a gluten free diet? I am terrified of the biopsy.
