About Me

DQ2 Homozygous (getting retested as neurological symotoms are presenting)

Sons and older daughter DQ2 (mild symptoms vary from kid to kid)

Baby probably DQ2 as well still on a mama milk diet.

Grandma diagnosed Celiac 25 years ago via biopsy.

Grandma's second cousin is Celiac.

We're all getting retested to check IgA's as the first time around we were on a gluten-free Diet.

  1. I carry 2 copies of DQ2, my older 3 have at least one copy of DQ2. My maternal grandma was diagnosed celiac over 20 years ago via biopsy. Her second cousin also has celiac. The kids and I gave had little but different symptoms suggesting celiac but our iga levels were low when tested a few years ago. We are getting retested next month ang I'll be insisting...
  2. I started natural family planning after being on the pill for a year, I got pregant because my cycle was regular and did a 180 all of sudden...Make sure you use a back up method for a long while to get the pill out of your system. My second and third were mini-pill babies and we have been using NFP and spermacide for the last 4 years and now we are using...
  3. I love this thread! Where do some of these doctors get their degrees??? My mom probably has Celiac. My brother is getting tested and has classical GI symptoms. My grandma was diagnosed 20 years ago. We are pretty sure my greatgrandma had it....Her symptoms were classical. All three of my kids have wierd issues and all three have one gene..... ...
  4. Are the DQ2 and the DQ8 both genes? They only tested positve for the DQ2 but they were all 5 and under when they were tested. I plan on having them tested each year.[ quote name='Ursa Major' date='Dec 7 2007, 11:35 AM' post='371636'] First of all, those blood tests are notoriously unreliable with little kids. Were the boys officially diagnosed with...
  5. I live in the Sacramento area and have UCDMedical Group. The kids' doctors have been very open in testing for Celiac. They use the PORMETHEUS lab's Celiac Plus test. I am getting tested tomorrow. I don't know of a specific doctor but it seems like you need to go in these days with a list of what you want done...pretend you are your own doctor.
  6. Hello, My grandma has Celiac diagnosed about 20 years ago (she always had severe exema and now has advanced ostio.). Her mother was in the same boat, never ate and had very low weight her entire life (I am sure she had it and was never diagnosed). I am being tested tomorrow due to weired nerological issues...slight GI issues. My three kids have been...
