  1. Hi there - see the below: Open Original Shared Link The information on the site is frankly minimal. If you watch the video it claims that all grains contain gluten (true - ie. zein, oryzenin, avenin etc as well as the "gluten" grains). The implication is that in years to come celiacs will be told to avoid ALL grains, but from what I can see (and I am...
  2. Dear all, I am contemplating getting this test done. From what I have been told by my practitioner (here in the UK), it is supposed to tell you if you have sensitivity to non-gluten grains gluten - ie. the glutens in corn (zein) and rice (oryzenin), for example. The gluten free society, which appears to provide this tes, argues it is sensitivity to the...
  3. Thank you all very much! That is tremendously encouraging and I will feel quite happy trying some of these products now. Best wishes to all, Carolyn
  4. Dear all, Apologies as I'm sure this has probably been asked before but I'm new to using this board. How do super sensitives find Ener-G products, such as the yeast free rice bread? I don't tend to have gastro issues after eating them but I have a feeling the bread may be giving me slight joint pains in my elbows. Just wondered how other people...
  5. Thanks - yes I absolutely realise that, but it's very helpful to hear what people say, and yes - it is usually way more helpful than anything that comes out of a doctor's mouth! I think the zinc might be helping things a bit actually - fingers crossed.. The surgeon did of course look at me as though I was off my trolley today when I asked if the stitches...
  6. Thank you all very much for your replies and apologies for the delay in mine. That is reassuring on all fronts re dissolvable stitches. And very interesting re zinc - thank you for that. I will try some as something isn't going right with the healing. Best wishes to all - and thank you again so much for your replies, Carolyn
  7. Dear all, I just wondered if it is a rumour that dissolvable stitches can contain gluten, or if anyone knows if it is actually true? I had an ankle operation 12 weeks ago, which is supposed to take 6 - 8 weeks to heal and frankly it is currently worse than before the operation, so I feel I have made no progress at all. I just wondered as somewhere...
  8. Thank you all again so much. That is a fascinating (and horrifying) report about how small an amount of gluten is damaging. Frankly it makes me think it's too dangerous to even eat things like rice, quinoa and amaranth as at least here in the UK they are termed "gluten free" if they register less than 20ppm, which is clearly still way too high. Perhaps...
  9. Hi Irish Heart, Thank you very much for your post, which is much appreciated. It's interesting to hear of another sensitive coeliac who has no issues with Digest Gold. I got a reply back from Enzymedica eventually about their most recent testing and it shows gluten as being undetectable at < 2.5ppm level, so it can't be gluten. My other query...
  10. I wondered about this as well and actually contacted Dr Borody's unit in Sydney that pioneered the whole approach. They said they do not treat celiacs with this, although did not confirm why this was. I wondered whether the "host" donating the faeces would need to be eating a gluten free diet in order to avoid any inadvertent inflammatory damage. I would...
  11. Thank you all again. I have ordered the NOW enzymes and Doctors Best ones as well to try those instead. The general issue I have is that animal-derived enzymes give me terrible heartburn for some reason - it really is so annoying. DWS - I am similar to you in that having been gluten free for six years, things were going along quite ok. I had actually...
  12. Thank you both very much for your responses - which are really interesting. That is really odd then.. I wonder if it's the aspergillus per se that I am having an issue with. It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrating as they really help my digestion but with sudden serious joint points and eye twitching (both of which stop within 2 days of stopping taking them...
  13. Dear all, I am really desperate for feedback from anyone who has tried using Enzymedica's Digest Gold and Glutenease. I am a super sensitive celiac without doubt, reacting to tiny traces. I have had a re-emergence of symptoms after six years on a gluten free diet, and am not sure what is going on. However, what I have found is that Digest Gold...
