  1. I felt better when I first went off gluten.. but now I feel the same as I did before.
  2. My GI gave me a blood test for gluten antibodies in early June. I came back "highly positive" in one area.. I believe it was Igg. My biopsy was negative and he diagnosed me with gluten sensitive enteropathy. I went to an allergist a few weeks ago to test for other food allergies, because I'm still getting sick. My blood tests for food allergies all came back...
  3. I first went to a GI because I didn't know what my problem was. Then after I still had problems after going gluten-free.. I went to an allergist. It seemed to be a smart path.
  4. I was watching Malcolm in the Middle tonight and during the "war games" they used flour as ammunition and one guy gets hit and says "I'M ALLERGIC TO WHEAT!!" I just thought that was funny.
  5. My cramps had increasingly gotten worse, so I had my gynecologist put me on birth control. They're still there, but less severe. I, at first, thought maybe my stomach problems were due to my period. But, I think our stomachs may just be more sensitive during this time, because I'm sure it lowers our immune system. That's my opinion, anyways.
  6. I'm with you, Jill! I was so surprised when I saw this article in my local newspaper. And it took up most of the page. Rock on newspapers.
  7. Is fried rice okay if it's cooked with gluten-free soy sauce?
  8. When I was in the process of getting diagnosed... my GI gave me Nexium and then we tried Protonix. I was just wondering if anyone else suffered severe abdominal pain when taking those. And, if so, what could that mean? Just curious. I look forward to some input!
  9. I know Taco Bueno is not in many places.. but I was wondering if anyone had any info about whether it was gluten-free or not? They have the only beans I will eat. Also.. I was wondering if anyone had any gluten-free info on KFC. I used to work there.. so I get cravings quite often. Thanks! Holly
  10. I could be fine just hanging out at home by myself eating gluten-free. But, when I get around other people eating gluteny-goodness.. I get cravings.. not to mention depressed. But, it's only been 2 months for me.. so I'm still dealing.
  11. I'm from Claremore, Oklahoma. It's a suburb of Tulsa.
  12. Thanks alot Burdee. The Lactaid was my own little test before going to the doctor.
  13. I'd greatly appreciate that Jill! Thanks.
  14. Is there a list somewhere of things to avoid when avoiding casein. I know the basics.. but are there as many things to look for as there are when avoiding gluten? I'm pretty sure the casein is my problem. I tried Lactaid and still got sick.
  15. I know dairy products are making me sick. But, what's the difference between lactose intolerance and casein intolerance or sensitivity? How can you tell which is which? Thanks.
  16. I am almost sure I have some sort of dairy allergy and I plan on getting tested. My doctor's appointment isn't until Friday. I know that not having the allergen in your body at the time of the bloodwork would be pointless.. but how long does it take? I can't handle eating dairy and feeling sick for one more week. Thanks.
  17. I just recently started taking Sundown B-12 vitamins. Nothing in the listed ingredients looks suspicious.. but I know the first brand of B-12s I picked up had a ton of "bad" stuff. If anyone has any info.. please let me know.
  18. I used to do my fair share of drinking as well. But now, anytime I even try to drink.. I'll get nauseated after just one. On the other hand though.. I haven't gotten any answers on whether margaritas and the like are gluten-free. I'm kind of afraid to try any straight hard liquor when the minor stuff even affects me. I totally sympathize with you, Catfish...
  19. Well, I could never find an email address for Blue Bell, but I saw a gluten-free menu from a restaurant here in Tulsa, and Blue Bell ice cream was listed as a gluten-free dessert. I still eat it with no problems.
  20. I was just wondering what gluten-free bread is most preferred: store-bought or home-made? Thanks.
  21. I've heard that lactose intolerance is kind of typical after first going gluten-free. I wouldn't normally expect permanent lactose intolerance in my case, because I have no damage.. just the symptoms.
  22. I have only been gluten-free for a few weeks now, but still get sick occasionally, even when I eat things that I KNOW are gluten-free. It's usually after I eat a dairy product, but it does not happen everytime I eat a dairy product. What should I do?
  23. I know that there are still a wide variety of alcohol that are gluten-free, but what about mixed drinks, like margaritas and pina coladas?
  24. Does anyone know of any gluten-free Pop-Tart-like items? I'm dying without my Pop-Tarts.
  25. Hello. I'm getting ready to go on vacation and will be visiting Niagara Falls in Canada. I know that there are many restaurants there and was wondering if anyone knows of any that cater to gluten-free people. Thanks.
