  1. The Aussie rep I spoke to said that the exact same product might contain gluten in one lot, but not in another. It's so frustrating! I've been calling companies on an as-needed basis since my husband was diagnosed with celiac this past December. He has for years used Thicker Fuller Hair shampoo, but he thought I had once said Aussie was safe, so he proudly...
  2. I phoned Aussie today and was told by a customer rep that they can't guarantee the gluten-free status of any of their products, due to varying sources of raw materials. I also phoned Schwarzkopf & Henkel, mfr of Thicker Fuller Hair shampoos, and was informed by a customer rep (Norma) that they do contain gluten. ~Pat
  3. Here's an excellent resource providing info from several manufacturers about the gluten status of their products: Open Original Shared Link
  4. I don't have any advice for you, but I'm sending you *hugs*.
  5. JustMe75, I heartily second the advice Nyxie63 gave about thyroid testing. Her paragraph about "normal" vs "optimal" levels of thyroid hormone should be laminated and hung in every doctor's office in the country. The ignorance that abounds within the medical profession about thyroid disease is astounding. Most doctors diagnose TD solely on the TSH...
  6. My husband, the celiac member of our family, is mostly Irish.
  7. gypsyqueen, thanks for sharing your experience. I can't believe your baby was prescribed Reglan; it's not supposed to be given to children under the age of 18. I think that the tide is changing as far as how the medical establishment views non-traditional medicine (non-"traditional" is an interesting choice of words, since Eastern practices of medicine...
  8. Or maybe that mean old Sylvester had something to do with it!
  9. I'm so glad, Donna, that your reaction apparently wasn't from the B12 shot. There are ways to get around allergies to band-aid adhesives or latex, but B12 shots are a different story. Please don't blame Tweety for your reaction... I love that bird!
  10. The latex itself could be the culprit. I have noticed that I've become increasingly sensitive to body lotions/creams containing shea butter. In researching the topic, I discovered that some people with a latex allergy experience cross-sensitivity to shea, because the karite tree, from which shea is derived, is a botanical "cousin" of the rubber tree, used...
  11. bluejeangirl, I'm sorry about your little girl. Have you talked to her doctor about having her take a probiotic, such as acidophilus? They can help the entire GI tract--not just the colon. In fact, while she is on erythromycin, it might be a good idea for her to be on a probiotic, to prevent diarrhea and/or a yeast infection. Has your daughter's doctor...
  12. Following up on gfgypsyqueen's post, the gastroparesis drug currently available in Canada is Motilium; its generic equivalent is domperidone. My understanding is that per FDA regulations neither the brand name nor its generic form can be sold in (or shipped to) the U.S., though they are certainly available via online Canadian pharmacies. An alternative...
