  2. we feed the dog before the kids get up and again after they go to bed, other than that, I made him some gluten free dog treats and he doesn't lick.......anyone........ever. we haven't had a problem. I have to wear gloves of course since I have celiac too, but it hasn't glutened me yet.
  3. we had used baking soda for a while on my girls teeth when before the store here started carrying the children's toothpaste we use now. It didn't taste great, but it was gluten free and safe.
  4. From one of the ladies in my support group she says it keeps them in line a LOT better because they know that if they screw up you have it in writing that they know what to do, it means they were negligent with your kid, and that's not something the school wants everyone and their dog to be talking about, so you might look into getting this done. oh, and I would be very mad. I would be the mom at the school office "don't you know that your food damages my kid?! how hard is it NOT to posion my kid?"
  5. I'm gluten free, but I am glad that I don't have to give up watermellon baby! yum, had some today for breakfast........it's God's little gift personally to me Ijust know it. LOL
  6. that's what I thought, but I have been surprised before....... I remember harvest being hard on my allergies when I was at my uncle's wheat farm, but I really thought it was the dust.......looking back it could have been a combo I wonder though if you are right about the stalks being "de-glutened"

  8. so the consensus is "not safe"? I found a place with Alfalfa hay, is that safe?
  9. I am trying to set up a hay ride this fall and guess what the hay is made out of? wheat Do you guys think it would be okay for us to sit on it if we don't come into contact with it (blankets ect.) and then eat at the bonfire after if we really really really scrub our hands?
  10. My grandfather, my mom, myself, and both my daughters have celiac disease. We suspect others in the family do to, but they are too stuborn to get tested. So far, myself and my daughters are the only ones 100% gluten free and guess what? we are the only ones who aren't sick (shocking isn't it)
  11. I had them pre-dx and was told it was my gallbladder, had it removed, it was better for a while, then came back when I would eat gluten. Dr. said it was scar tissue, but since I have been gluten free it's been gone. Have you had them check your gallbladder? I know that mine was actually messed up, so I don't know what the pain was other than it's gone now. could be a coincidence.
  12. I should have fixed it once I found out that I had been mistaken, in fact I will go fix it now.

  14. un-treated or undiagnosed celiac can kill, it's very rare that a person who is diagnosed and eating gluten free dies. Think of it this way, when a celiac eats gluten they can't absorb the food they eat because of the damage to the intestines, basically no matter how much they eat they starve to death. If you go gluten free and your intestines heal, you can live a normal life, and not starve to death.
  15. My youngest almost died from undiagnosed celiac, but technically she would have died from malnourishment caused by celiac disease. I do know that some people are so far gone even when they do get diagnosed that they die from complications related to celiac, like a friend of mine who is fighting stomache cancer that they say was "caused" by her celiac disease.
