  1. IrishHeart, I have wondered about the cereal too. My son eats a ton of it and I often feel he is much more hyper , trouble sleeping (issues he has with gluten). I also thought it could be that there is trace gluten - I assume they test to 20ppm or some amount - so maybe if he eats a lot it adds up to too much. Plus he craves it which makes me wonder....
  2. For me its a great help hearing from people who are super sensitive. My son has been gluten-free for over a year now, but has begun to have issues exactly like before going gluten-free - I am searching very hard to see if there is a x contam source since I think he may be super sensitive (he has a severe milk and soy allergy and reacts to trace amts of those...
  3. Thanks for the info - I went ahead and ordered it. Sounds like a great idea since my son seems so much like he is getting gluten somehow and I can't think of the source but have a couple of suspicions for x contm.
  4. . I tested the ingredients that were new to find the source of my discomfort. The test showed the McCormicks ground cumin to be about 5 ppm gluten. What test are you using (I know I posted that , but don't think I saw an answer) - I checked on the EZ Gluten test and they say it only tests to 10ppm and that it doesn't give you a number , just that it...
  5. I never knew there was an at home test - do you know if it is the same test Univ of Nebraska uses (I think theres is ELISA test), and is it considered accurate? If so I will order some. I looked at the web site and it is much cheaper than sending in for testing. Thanks for the info sarah
  6. What was the method of testing - I saw someone said it is not considered reliable by some? My understanding was that the ELISA testing can only test to 10 ppm anyhow? I had sent a sample to Univ of Nebraska and I think that was the level they test to - so it just comes back less than that which could still be zero is my understanding. I used to buy the...
  7. Did you get an answer from them? I called almost a year ago and they said there could be x contam - not a gluten-free facility I think. My 3 year old son eats tons of it and is having a lot of problems and I keep wondering if its the cereal (hard to take it away , its his only cereal). There is a possiblity he has issues with rice itself too. I was tempted...
  8. Just another thought - you might want to look at Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis (FPIES). The elevated WBC made me think of it. My son has FPIES to milk and soy - he has extreme vomiting , followed by diarrhea (I'm not sure about yours having the reverse - I think vomiting is usually first). He has to go to ER and have IV with steroids - it can lead...
  9. I thought the label used to include barley in the ingredients and now it does not? I was assuming that meant they did change the formula. Do we know that is wrong? My 2 yr old son is gluten free, but has been having what appear to be some reactions and I've been trying to figure out if he could have got any gluten. He has been drinking rice dream since...
