  1. mmmmmm peeeeeeeet-zuuuuuuhhhhhhhh <drool> Was it at all disappointing like Carla's? I'd forgotten all about a conversation I had many yrs ago w/ a long-time celiac. I was still yrs away from 100% gluten-free. He said he cheats every 6 months w/out repercussions. mmmmmmm vicarious cheeeeeeeating <drool> donut? pie? croissant...
  2. What kind of noodles? I would've been fine w/ Tinkyada or Tjoe's brown rice version. You're right about lack of bloating pointing away from candida. Can't say I'm 100% sure that the bloating is must w/ candida. Have you tried anything w/ vinegar lately? Did the applesauce have ingreds besides apples?
  3. Hi Kassandra, Those would both do that to me before I first started treating candida. Tea leaves ferment - nothing you can do about it. (Tho I'd wondered if living in Indosesia and picking them myself would've been ok) And apple sauce was too sweet. They'd make my gut feel like cement was hardening in there. Your homemade gluten-free...
  4. Ummmmm thx but no thx Light. One stalker accusation per lifetime is enough. Funny DLB stuff!!
  5. I wondered if Ethiopians use teff for bread. Thought I'd heard that. Annnnnnnnnnnnd Pseu-zee .. . . secret experiments If we gave them a silly name could we hear about them? to no reaction anyway!!
  6. Uhhh this is a general statement and I thought we were talking specifically about c.albicans' rhizoids. I'm not sure that posting in something from whoknowswhere.com does any good. A source link gives any paste-post more value. <sigh> yes . ... . .both HAVE cell walls. <sigh> Yet something IS different betw the types of walls, since...
  7. My 1st major clue to candida was a York test result of yeast intolerance. So, while "must" is probably too strong a word, I'd say "most likely" anyway. Oh my . . . .. . . I hadn't even considered having to deal w/ an ARMED cookie-craver! You just keep that soy-milk squirtgun holstered missy!! And I'll stay out of the cookie aisle. (Until my...
  8. I read something recently that the overall benefits were GREATER in cooked broccoli than in raw. Wish I remembered where. Broccoli has SO MANY good compounds! "Broc all around! It's on me!" Oy he's so much more than gluten-free. Probably more restricted than me. Zero sugar, incl fruit. And yeast-free and free of anything to do w/ mold. I don...
  9. another time I'm glad I wasn't drinking while reading. ( . . . .sure seems like it was you! ) OK, a little backtracking now, but w/out using the forum's quoting. I've gotten impatient w/ waiting for all the pageloads on this phone, not that I love it any less, just that I have more to do now - VERY unlike June/July. Jess - "...
  10. WOW!! Congrats! Sounds amazing & fantastic & amazingly fantastic & fantastically amazing!! Yup. Flew on Tues. Only 95deg comin' today!! Just "maybe"? I say "Just Do It"!! It's Shelly. I've been surprised at how well the 8 yr old follows the diet w/out whining or complaining. Very matter-of-fact about it...
  11. 3 IS a Magic Number!! One of my fav early 90s Bay Area bands - contemporaries of Green Day before *they* hit it big - named Helen Keller Plaid used to do "3 is a Magic Number" at shows!! Then wasn't it the mid-90s when a celiac disease -OOPS! Compact Disc! - of remakes of Schoolhouse Rock came out, all done by big name bands?
  12. But it was one of the MOTHERS that started it! I'm way back in the 'frozen exotics' section (hard to find if you don't know where to look btw) checking prices on emu breasts & tapir chops, when I hear this woman, apparently trying to remember a recipe, continue to repeat "baste the yeti meat"! Ok ok the truth is I only said "let the yeti lead...
  13. Schoolhouse Rock!! conjunction junction . ... .what's my function .. . . And you're ALL CERTIFIABLY INSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANE!!! 7 pages in ONE DAY?? Emily - LOL @ new av & I didn't even see the show!
  14. Oh oh ohhhhhhhhhhhhh I missed such a busy day. The flurry of posts might be better called a blizzard! Quick Tip: In a blizzard, let the Yeti lead. (Hard to say "let the Yeti lead" 3x fast w/out a "yet the .. . ." sneaking out) Simply atrocious timing for my crappy day. Maybe crappiest since May. I *did* try to read some in the AM, but wasn't even...
  15. Kassandra, Hmmmm directly (and uselessly) answering the 'How' part is easy. It's just not having any. But I don't really know when the interest faded to near none. In the beginning, ~2.5 yrs ago, it'd hurt to have any, so that makes it pretty easy to quit!! Probably stopped wishing I could have sweets w/in a couple wks. For a few months before...
  16. Don't spook the Yeti!! or the sax player, for that matter Nojito on the Mojito for me - sugar syrup in there. How about a Super Redbridge Soaker? Holy Oompa Loompas Batgirl! Robert Duvall??? Doesn't he have grandchildren our age? I'm in on the flowing tri-color rainbows of candy corn!! Regarding honored...
  17. Hey maybe you're right! I'm all for that! But since it started by quoting me and includes "those of us still working on our health" - as if I'm not, simply because I finally feel great mentally after 10+ yrs - and w/ very recent and previous sporadic disagreements, it sure felt like it was at me. I hope I DID misread it and you're right.
  18. Wondered when DoTL's machine-guns' role in the parade would be questioned. But if they're just firing probiotics, magnesium & candy corn, what's the harm in indulging our new, youngest member? **The Children are our beloved thread's FUTURE!!** Ammo suggestions greatly encouraged. Altoids could even be shot in a gentle arc to facilitate mouth...
  19. Oops Double
  20. Oy . .. . . . Wasn't it nearly 2 months ago that the thread was moved for an hour or two? You're seriously trying to pin that on me? And is there an implication that I'm always off-topic? How would u know? You used to say you stopped reading my posts. Not everyone who shows up is asking about Lyme, mercury or pathways. I couldn't count the # of...
  21. Although it was pages ago that I called "shotgun" for whichever vehicle has machine-guns, I know in my heart that I must yield to DoTL. Not sure about the ammo procurement on a Russian gun. Maybe we could just shoot probiotics and magnesium capsules. And CANDY CORN!! Bet they fly well w/ the right rifling to provide good rotation.
  22. Suz . . .gotta tell ya - I don't understand this at all. Why not completely? I've been 100% dairy-free for years and it's a breeze. I DID recently find that goat cheese is fine for me. It seems pretty common for the casein-intolerant to really just have trouble w/ cow casein. Every goat cheese I've tried has been fantastic, tho I'm only trying 'fresh...
  23. Honey, I'm so off sweeteners it would've been in-con-THEEVE-able that it could even be possible for most of my sweet-tooth-driven existence. Really thinking about it (for a thread about reducing sugar intake) made me realize how I don't even think about dessert or anything sweet anymore. But I did try a pseudo-macaroon at Shelly's a few days ago...
  24. "Repugnant"! A wonderful yet woefully underused word. Saw one like this also. But some faves of mine missing in your list are: "Haven't we met before?" "Yes, I'm the receptionist at the V.D. Clinic." "I know how to please a woman." "Then please leave me alone." P.S. Ahhhh Pergo ... . .. I had just started choosing which...
  25. Oh Gnychy-unyted kyngdum! Tyres again? This one just makes sooooooo little sense! (I do concede that many of our spellyng dyfferences at least make some sense) Is there another word w/ a Y where an I belongs? Any of these? Whyle I smyle at myles of pyles of fyrewood, I'm myred in dyre desyre of lyghters that flippin WORK! #!*^$##@! WTH is the...
