  1. Jin!! See this yet? Evansville celiac group! Open Original Shared Link And, somewhat related, I'm meeting *another* forum member tomorrow! He even lives in my little Ahwatukee part of Phx and owns a Health Food / Vitamin store. He's offered up his resources and knowledge re: pills, supplements etc on this thread. Open Original Shared Link...
  2. <wiiiiiide grimace> juuuuuuust barely <shudder> Tho the massacre one was new to me and got a quick chuckle
  3. CarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrLAAAAAAAAAAAA (hehe now I'm reminded of Fred Flintstone - awesome horn section on that theme song btw) "Argumentative" would be asking Rachel which of the "5 foods" pockets-full of cookies replaced, not just hoping that a humorous 'anti-male' post has something I can try to have fun with. That's the tiniest harrumph. ever...
  4. 3 or 4 yrs ago it sure seemed like the only way to get bread I could enjoy. And it was well beyond 'enjoy'. It was fantastic and friends' kids thought so too. I'd never baked before, so I went w/ a machine. Many ppl make great bread w/out one tho. Unfortunately I found out yeast was a problem for me a couple yrs ago, so haven't been able to have the bread...
  5. Hey broncobux, maybe if your name were bengalhawk THOSE teams would've won. No idea when I might get to LV, but wanted to throw out that if you're ever in the SF Bay Area w/ a free hr or two, we should do something.
  6. Well, let's see . . . . . I think the 1st 45min or so we talked about talented southern indiana 'chinese' girls lol. You haven't had a chance to any drawing in a long time I bet. OK, seriously, it was madness! There was not near enough time w/ them. And w/ 7 ppl at the table there's usually 3 or 4 conv going on at once. Even *while* I'm talking...
  7. Heck, I'd sleep in a tent if she has a backyard!
  8. that's so horrible. I can barely believe you have to deal w/ such bs just as things are looking up. AAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!! I dealt w/ a little of that attitude. Nowhere near this extent or impact. P.S. I was just looking for Kassandra's post about the rashes and allergic throat-closing, then finally realized it was its own thread. Anyone...
  9. Can I get a"were" in place of "are"? Argumentative sounds so negative. Besides, I thought u upgraded me to master debater!
  10. LOL! I really truly expected there to be at least ONE I could dispute, but it's all true. Of course, we would never frown on women in white t-shirts at a water park. Hmmm would it be common in a country where even regular beaches are full of topless women? Or maybe that's rumor crossed w/ wishful thinking. Wait! No it's not!! I've been to a few...
  11. I'm also surprised at the number of positive posts. Maybe the angry ones are too pissed off to post. I saw this thread when it was new and the first thing I thought was "we're supposed to stop hating the disease?". I wasn't ready to even read the thread yet. And I'm surprised at how often hating the diet is mentioned. I don't hate the diet at all...
  12. Did he get it right? Arizona's pretty weird. In the summer we're same as CA, PST, but when everyone else changes their clocks, AZ doesn't, so most of the year we're Mountain Time.
  13. Quinoa flour is pretty versatile, or so I've heard, and should be widely available. They also grow amaranth there, so it also may be easier to find. Not sure how well they sub for a bean flour, if the application is particular.
  14. Yes Definitely Yes & Definitely No IBS is a symptom, which does have a cause. And you'll find the cause. "If the blood tests show nothing" go gluten-free? Why wait? I think you may have crossed a threshold by posting your 1st post. Many here 1st took control of their own health by doing the same. The diet itself is a test as much as...
  15. What can I say? It's great to meet forum ppl in person, and I got to meet Momma Goose, mouse & broncobux earlier today, in Scottsdale Az. It was at a mah-velous "gourmet pizza" place which is not only rightfully popular for their regular pizza, but also so serious about gluten-free pizza that they make it in a separate room. (It must be separate oven...
  16. Well, ok, I'm actually not entirely through worrying. I may worry, at least a little, for the rest of my days. BUT!!! It IS *greatly* reduced since something that happened a few days ago. I'd had a few 'not great' days in a row (nothing worth posting about and still better than most days even pre-celiac), and began to worry more that it may be the start...
  17. Well, I'm strongly righty for everything, but I won't be surprised if this bizarro-world thread has the RIGHTY as the 10% minority. What are the odds? <rhetorical? not so much [1/10**n]x0.9> (oops sorry dingy! don't go!) Ahhh, I see . . . . . I'll keep such phrases holstered until I grow weary of witty repartee. (Is there any...
  18. He was *pretty* darn BIG!! He belonged to that guy in the pic. The pic is in front of my fav SJ coffee house, in that nice tranquil little Willow Glen neighborhood, taken from my spot in the sidewalk table area. ahhhhhhhh I love my Willow Glen. It was funny to see the rest of dogwalkers look a little worried as they approached. This Big Dog could almost...
  19. Verrrrrrrrrry interesting!!
  20. Yes good luck w/ the tests! And I second the idea of keeping a food/symptom diary. It can really make it easy to spot some of these things.
  21. Bravo!! I say WELL DONE! Seems we've found a common denominator, and I appreciate the reciprocation! <I can't beLIEVE I didn't think of "difference"! grrrrr> But, to sum up, we're still staying away from math anecdotes, right? Tales of hexadecimal just don't even APPROACH silly, (for all n from 1 to infinity) Maybe I asked this...
  22. Yeahhhh now that u mention it. One I posted to had started her diet-related thread in the Tech Help section. I hope it's not still there. GuitarGurl I think. And not to make light of his/her frustration, but the one who created a thread and 10min later posted to it, a bit perturbed that nobody responded yet was a little amusing. Yay! I think...
  23. What the . . .. . Oh wait . . I forgot that italics was the 'new black'. Oh that SO reminds me of this little place on Sanibel Island FL, where they had this flavorful combo platter of conch fritters & aspirated fricatives. Mmmmmm MMM!! Would someone please tell our Miss co-Poohbah Susie that riffing on a word doesn't even constitute...
  24. Aw Janet I was actually figuring to abstain from the math talk, unless it became integral to another topic - however tangentially. It could too easily stray into math anecdotes. No one wants that. . . . . Now see here co-Poohbah! I don't diss your glottals (much ) and you should know I find Truth & Beauty in Differential Equations, so...
  25. D'oh!! You really got around! OK then, narrowing it down to Austin, LA & St. Pete, which was fav? Gah!!! I'm lucky I wasn't drinking anything as I read this!
