  1. While it maybe shouldn't be tried immediately, many of us w/ casein problems w/ cow's milk are fine w/ goat casein. All milk has casein, but the molecules are all different. I've read that smaller mammals' milk have smaller casein molecules, tho I don't remember whether that was in a reliable source of info. Anyway, I've found some great goat cheeses...
  2. Part deux: <that's what . ...no . .. ..that's not what *she* said> not yet .. .. Just some chuckles. Tho for a few of us Sillies, the word 'handle' can be replaced w/ 'hips'. Congrats to yer boy. Sounds interesting. Is there much field work w/ extensive use of words like "Niiiiiiiice badger"? Gah!!...
  3. Bah!!! I got a THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND You have posted more than the allowed number of quoted blocks of text ******** Part one: LOL Jess did a therapeutic "SLAP!!" on another thread. Will it have a counterpart? (Sonic yonic .. .eh) Or would a mash-up of the two songs necessarily reduce to just a repeated...
  4. All giggles fo'shiggle Haven't even taken anything from the ND yet, save the multi-multi-everything vitamin+ which has 2 ingred I'd *never* otherwise ingest. Soybean oil & milk - no idea actually whether pure soybean oil alone does what soy (protein I assume) does, but wth do I need to buy WITH the oil that I can't find w/out it?? She...
  5. Whoa! The rare reverse vocabularical confuzzlement!! And yay Boris
  6. HEY!! THEeeeeeeeere she is . ..Miss (almost-a-)Hurricane '08! Was Cristobal by Fripp? Dang! I missed those! GAH!! Well, Anna, until reading this, I was thinking only "hey, what a cute kid". Now I'm altering my perception of the excretory event by imagining a Baby Ruth wrapper out of frame, in his(? her?) left hand. <Caddyshack...
  7. I say diagnosed is diagnosed. Don't know your symptoms, but once gluten-free chances are, before long, you'll feel better than you have in many years.
  8. That's how I remember 'em. Maybe closer to nickel-sized for me long long ago. (in a backyard far far away)
  9. Hi Anna! EM!!!!!!!!! To everyone BUT our Divine Miss Em: Mefinks Em piqued peeked Happy Anniv Gnic!! <twenny's a bunch> Wasn't Turkey last year too? Sure must've liked it. No Shveeden? 10. I'm off to the Naturopath in an hour, so wish me luck. I really REALLY need to get me brain whirring again & lose at least SOME fatigue!! Yesterday's thoughts included: "Oh the interminable boredumb of a dull brain .. .." I'll try to slip in some replies/silliness later.
  11. Then here we go .. . That's what they want you to think. Heehee Jess Here's a fun bit - a woman in the yahooceliacbayarea got her new license plate: NOGLU10 Ground bees & land sharks & sea cows oh my! Good luck at the casino Manda!
  12. Is that an order, Mistress Jess? Where's that scary avatar you had?
  13. 1st thought same. 2nd thought "ack why would I wanna see that?!" Sarah, there IS a little giddy thrill from something so simple as another possible restaurant, isn't there? Jess - as a matter of fact, no, I do not know how expensive those things are. Hmmmm Knick's phluids . ..post count just over 2450 . .. ..thread post 17165 .. ..member...
  14. Anyone watch The Colbert Report? He was dissing the new Ben&Jerry's flavor honoring Elton John - said one ingredient was "candied lamb cartilage". Sounds more Scottish than British, imho. Emily, I tuned in to the Rogers Cup and saw: DANCEVIC -vs- DJOKOVIC Was momentarily fooled into thinking both were from . .. .uhh .. .somewhere over...
  15. I'm totally w/ ya on the New Grist. It's not bad until that very late aftertaste hits. Inconceivable to me that while developing the recipe/process, someone thought "There! Done!" Green's is spectacular, ain't it? It was downright shocking a gluten-free beer could be like that. Couldn't knock the smile off my face w/ a shovel while I was sampling...
  16. Cracked me up on yesterday's email cc: lists that someone has (Ptaum). <tom takes a guess & changes an addr book listing to Boehvee-woehvee> Lisa said abyss-mally Sayrrrrrrrrr-rahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! 18. I'm pretty sure that there are many w/ a straightforward wheat allergy, who don't react to spelt. Not that it does US any good. I looked this up once - it's not actually part of the Hippocratic Oath, tho things like "not using a knife on a patient" are. Besides disallowing any & all surgery, an argument was made that hypodermic needles...
  19. Looking fwd to trying this. Mmmmmmmm I like Redbridge well enough, but variety would be VERY welcomed. I did try 3 new gluten-free beers by Belgian brewery Green's. Faaaaaaaaantabulous .. ...didn't know gluten-free could be so pub-worthy. The Amber stacks up to ANY gluteny amber worldwide. But at $6.50 per 500ml bottle (16.9oz I think) it's...

    ARCHIVED Pho

Mmmmmmmm I used to love Pho - vietnamese co-workers got me started long ago - but SO many potential issues. W/out absolute proof, I wouldn't trust the 'rice noodles' to be just mostly rice w/ a good amount of wheat. Far more common than I used to think. And I'd have to agree w/ Fiddle-Faddle on bases, sauces, & also meat marinades.
  21. Hi Stephanie, There's Open Original Shared Link w/ ppl in the South Bay, Peninsula and Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley. I haven't made it to one of their near-monthly potlucks yet, but hope to soon. I get a daily email of the prior day's posts. Some days there are 2 or 3 posts, some days a dozen. Mostly it's about useful local info - restaurants, stores...
