  6. This sounds very patronizing to me! Of course....it may just be the mood I'm in, and the fact that I really take offense at being spoken to (written to) as if I were of less than normal intelligence. I have used Pantene in the past....maybe I won't bother to use them in the future. Thanks for sharing, btw, and good luck to you in healing.
  7. Hammer.....your experience sounds like a lot of us. I, too, did the million dollars of testing...which continued even after I got a diagnosis! My doc didn't truly understand Celiac and was convinced I was dying from some cancer or other physical malady. A great many problems cleared up with the gluten-free diet, but I also have been diagnosed with other...

  10. Sounds so much like my own. My Dad in among the youngest in a very large family, and many of them are still going (his family seemed to have longevity....or maybe they all just seemed old when I was a kid). 15. Sleezy-ann...out 'bout the mumu housedress, and don't forget about the "old-chicken-soup"scented deoderant! Hubby needs to wear dirty, holy coveralls which don't quite cover all. Make him grow out his hair and beard. Neither of which need to be washed all that often. The coon hound laying around on your unpainted, warped-board front porch is a must...

  18. Of course! Bacon!!! Did I ever tell you this little story? When I was growing up, there were many of us. My mother was often concerned about feeding us all enough (btw, we all had all we needed....this is not a poor us story.....but then again, times were very different then). Anyway, many times we all got small portions of what ever we were having...
  19. D, sorry to hear about your situation. I hate to admit I have no advice....I just wanted to wish you the best of luck getting rid of the darn things. I know you'll get some good advice here. Sending a hug and some strength to deal with it.
  20. Hey! Juuude! Sounds like all good news. Yeah, things are changing as we are all getting older, and everyone around us seems to get younger. Why is that? Anyway...I believe we are soul sisters.....love of flowers and playing in the dirt, gardens....I hate cooking too! Probably the worst thing about this diet in the increase in kitchen activity! Too poor...
  21. A solid tan color indicates they are ready. So does die-back of the vines, or the vines near the squash turning brown. Cure them by drying (warm, dry place ) for 10-14 days. When the skin is too hard to easily puncture with a fangernail, they are ready to store. I cooked some ahead to freeze for easy fixin'...but they are not hard to fix anyway. Been...

Ken...I also owe thanks to you along with so many others who have helped me through the first/worst part of this journey, and who help to keep me on the right path! I just love the people I've met here and am so grateful for all of them! Wowee.....1000 posts!
  23. Just poppin in to say hi! Don't want to hear any 4-letter s-swear words! Oh no, no, no. I moved away from that stuff.....well....we do actually get "some" here, but not enough to count! 25. I've read about gluten being addictive. I think most of us craved (bread, bagels, pastas) gluten things at first. After 2 years, I still sometimes think about how yummy something would taste. BUT.....I was deathly ill before my diagnosis, so I have a strong motive to keep me off the stuff. Think of it this way......many poisons prove to be addictive,...
