  1. I checked over at delphi and it doesn't list anything about air fresheners.... I have often wondered about air fresheners, but then again, I kind of spray as I am exiting and hold my breath so I don't inhale it (mind you, I'm also holding my breath because of the smell! Eek!) Karen I found this thread on this forum: Open Original Shared Link...
  2. Hi! Welcome to the board! From what you describe, it sounds ALOT like what I have gone through..... Sometimes the burping will be constant and each breath in brings a new burp. Oddly enough, I burp most after I just had a bm (I have permanent diarrhea)...... Sometimes the gas pain is so severe, it cuts my breath off...... I would definitely pursue...
  3. Actually, over at the House forum, this episode is causing quite a stir. The fact that the scenes of the baby in the water shocked alot of people and the fact that the baby died is causing quite the controversy. Most over there agree, this is the most memorable of House episodes - and it was about Celiac! Yeah!
  4. My brain fog is alot like an out of body experience also. It's like I am just "not there"..... Totally blank. Sometimes it will happen right in the middle of a thought or sentence...... Also, growing up, my Mom used to call them "Karenisms" - where I was in another world...... Karen
  5. I really don't put as much stock in the biopsy results as I do to the positive dietary response. With the biopsy, if the damage is spotty and patchy, it's basically a hit or miss situation as to whether they take the samples from the damaged areas or not...... There's a bunch of really great helpful, knowledgeable people here who are always around for...
  6. Even if tests show inconclusive, there is a very strong possibility she is "gluten intolerant", which could be just as damaging as celiac itself. Another thing to consider is with a biopsy, depending on how many specimens they take, it basically is a crap shoot. Damage to the villi quite often is "spotty" and "patchy", and it is hit or miss as to whether...
  7. I'm with ya over there Guhlia!!!!! Karen
  8. Hey, Nini, don't worry, you're not the only one..... I dug up this old thread about more of us hearing voices: Open Original Shared Link Maybe it was celiac related after all!!!!! Hugs. Karen
  9. I agree. It is the type of show that House is and if they did just any old run of the mill story about celiac, the channel would have been changed in the first 10 minutes....... Karen
  10. I think he said that stress "triggers" celiac (I could be mistaken, but that's what I thought I heard), and that statement is absolutely 100% true. Karen
  11. No. Chase came in saying the baby had "slight villous atrophy". So celiac was in it's early stages for the baby, but full blown for the mom. The mom could have been an asymptomatic celiac, there are many out there...... Karen
  12. Yeah, but what most of us have wouldn't make an exciting show though...... I personally am quite happy that they featured it, even though it made it out to be a really obscure complication of celiac....... They did a good explanation of not absorbing, etc. etc....... Karen
  13. I betcha Cuddy has it!!!! I bet it has nothing to do with the mother, it's Cuddy who thinks she has cancer but it turns out to be celiac!!!! (Guessing here........) Karen
  14. NaNa NaNa, Boo Boo!!!!!!! Better rest up moderators!!!!! Hugs. Karen
  15. In one preview, she looked darnright possessed! Let's hope it gets celiac "out there"...... Hugs. Karen
  16. Hi! Welcome to the board! You have found a place that has a great bunch of people who are supportive, helpful, knowledgeable and great listeners when you need to vent! As the others have said, our motto is "The only stupid question is the one not asked". Also, don't be shy - we've had pretty candid discussions about every kind of poop out there...
  17. Chrissy, My heart goes out to you and I will keep you and your daughter in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine the feeling of helplessness watching your child go through this. At least she is exactly where she should be to get the best treatment. Are they giving her any kind of psyciatric treatment, specializing in eating disorders? I hope so...
  18. You are so good, nini!!! You rock!
  19. Hi! Welcome to the board! Once you get the hang of it, the gluten free diet really becomes second nature - in fact, I can hardly remember what it was like eating gluten-filled stuff! LOL! Is your whole house going gluten free? If that is the case, you don't have to worry about any cross-contamination issues. It makes life alot easier, especially...
  20. Connor had it in November. I ended up having to take him to emerg because he was having difficulty breathing. I did find that the steam shower sucked - it didn't help him at all. What helped him immensely was when I took him out to the van to go to the hospital - the cold air opened things up quickly...... Hope it passes quickly for you - it did for...
  21. Thanks Nini..... I have e-mailed her back giving her the link to come here..... I knew you could come through! Hugs. Karen
  22. Hi. I also belong to a parenting forum and one of the moms e-mailed me about her children's diet (I post alot about gluten free and celiac). Anyway, this is her question: Thanks guys! I have also directed her to this site too...... Hugs. Karen
  23. Spent every day combing through strand by strand for 3 - 4 hours - yesterday there were only two little nits left that I found. Today is her second shampoo, so we should be in the clear after that (knocking vigorously on wood at that statement!!!) LOL! I stayed confined to Rhiannon. Checked everyone daily and they are in the clear, including Terry and...
  24. OMG! That's hilarious! These people must have the Food Network on 24/7!!! Hugs. Karen
