  1. Did you have to use the word "nitpicking"???????? (my 7 yr old dd Rhiannon came home from school last week with lice and that's all I have been doing all week - nitpicking!!!!!) Agree with you also, by the way. I am one of the ones with "complications", but if I do happen to get down emotionally because of it, I always find that humour helps...
  2. Thanks guys. I don't feel strong right now, I feel like a broken shell of the person I used to be.... This too shall pass....... Tomorrow is another day....... Hugs. Karen
  3. Well, had the upper GI series yesterday. I ended up having to drink more of that barium stuff because when they took me back in to do more pictures, the stuff had already gone through me. The technician said I was what they call "rapid transit", LOL, "No Kidding Bub! More like Super Sonic!" LOL! Anyway, I had to stick around the hospital until...
  4. Gax X Chewables have gluten in them. Gas X Softgels are okay for us to take, they are gluten-free. Karen
  5. Vincent, you are a hoot! I missed last night's episode (kinda busy around here ) Can someone give me a rundown of what Part 1 was about so I won't be so clued out tonight? Thanks! Karen
  6. Oh wait! I forgot to add one: Centreville: It is on Centre Island at the Toronto waterfront - you have to take a ferry to get there and the ferry ride was a real blast for the kids! Here's the link: Open Original Shared Link Hugs. Karen

  9. It's finally coming!!!!! Thanks! Karen
  10. Hi Betty, I just want you to know that I can completely relate to the continued pain that you experience..... I firmly believe that I do indeed have the celiac under control (although I continue to have malabsorption issues and flat villi) and it is the collagenous colitis that continues to cause me the problems and more specifically, the continued...
  11. Mmmmmm........ You're making me hungry!!!! Karen
  12. I use two different types of pain medication, depending on what kind of pain I have. Abdominal cramp pain, I take Tylenol with Codeine (up here in Canada, you can get it over the counter at the pharmacy). Now with me, since I have nothing but water diarrhea, constipation is not a problem for me regarding the codeine. For my mentrual cramps (which are...
  13. I was diagnosed around 20 years of age with endo. Extremely painful periods and pain during intercourse where my main symptoms. It is diagnosed after a doctor does a procedure called a laparoscopy, which two very small incisions are made (during surgery), one in your belly button and one about 3 inches below. They go in and "view" to see what it looks...
  14. Collagenous colitis is very nocturnal. It loves to wake me around 2 or 3 a.m., I have to go around 5 or 6 times, have cramps and abdominal pain for awhile then it settles down around 5 or 6 a.m. (just in time for the kids to get up! ) That is why so many of my posts are through the night....... Karen
  15. First thing you need to do is the happy dance, since the hardest part for you is already over. You FINALLY got a diagnosis after years of symptoms. You will have a whole ton of questions about this disease and this diet, so just fire away, we're used to it! There is really not too much we HAVEN'T discussed here! The only stupid question is the one...
  16. Wow! He comes on here later tonight! I'll have to check it out! Thanks! Karen
  17. Hi Fairydust! Welcome to the board! Although I am not into the fairy dust kinda stuff (I'm more like our grounded celiac3270..... ), I just wanted to welcome you aboard. p.s. You should have been around about a month ago, we had a thread going about 70's flower children, San Francisco, etc. You would have blended right in! Hugs. Karen
  18. Juliem: I am glad you have gotten encouragement from our experiences. We've lived through it, in fact, it sounds like there's a whole bunch of us that were still not diagnosed while we were bearing our children. You're already ahead of the game by being gluten free! If I let all of the imperfections of my genes worry me too much to the point where...
  19. Events for whom? Is it just you and/or hubby or kids too? Karen
  20. Happy Birthday, Michael!!!! Awwww, to be 33 again!!! Hope you have a wonderful day! Karen
  21. I can remember when I started taking the budesonide (steriod), and at the beginning, I actually had one BM that almost was normal. I was doing a day long celebration and felt like shouting it out to the world! Unfortunately, the next day, things went back to water, but heck, for one day, I was in poop heaven! Karen
  22. Sometimes I wonder if they will EVER find out why I fail to heal, and if it happens to be refractory, that they come up with SOME breakthrough that will be able to reverse the damage. I get angry sometimes too. I get angry when I am rocking in pain at 4 a.m. because of the cramping and explosive diarrhea. I am angry that it decides to be at it's worst...
  23. Hi Julie! Your fears are totally understandable. But remember, it's kinda like "I am going to wait for the right time to have a baby", well, the "right time" never comes. If you were going to wait until you have reached optimum health to have a baby, you'll never get there. Through all my pregnancies, I was consuming gluten (in fact, I lived on Terryaki...
  24. Ian, you crack me up!!!! That was SOOOO my hubby talking! Karen
  25. Hi Babbia! Are you in Toronto or are you going to be visiting for the convention? If something gets set up (for say an Outback or Il Fornello, count me in!) I don't get out enough! (Can't ya tell?) Hugs. Karen
