  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Thanks everyone! Grocery shopping is getting a little bit easier everyday!
  3. Yes, prices are totally out of control at the grocery store and gas station-- gas is $3.97 here in Lodi, California (near Sacramento)...disgusting...
  4. Where do you live? I find lots of great foods at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods...I agree, we are very blessed to be in California!! One good thing about this expensive, somewhat crazy state is the great fruits and veggies!
  5. Hey! Don't know if everyone already knows this, but Yoplait is o.k. unless it specifically states gluten! Which is very good new for me because I used to live off the stuff!! Here's what they wrote (I am in California): Thank you for contacting Yoplait regarding gluten in Yoplait yogurt. It is our goal to help our consumers determine whether...
  6. You can call the companies-- Safeway and Trader Joe's have lists...M&M's, Resse's PB cups, all Lucerne Yogurts at Safeway...there's a lot of stuff in the "regular" grocery store. A lot of the Organic Foods are o.k., just read the label to make sure! Good luck, it does get easier!
  7. Does anyone use a good skin care product/line that is Organic and gluten-free? I need some suggestions before I get new products; they are pricey, so I want to get something good...thanks for any responses!
  8. Glad you all enjoyed this...we just got a puppy (4 1/2 months ago) and it has really put things into perspective, etc...

  11. I was just sent this, and I thought it was worthy of sharing with everyone: A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year-old) Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle...
  12. Only the Hershey's pb eggs?
  13. Sorry to complicate things, but, I am Gluten Intolerant, I have hypothyroidism and Fredriech's Ataxia (an autoimmune disease). We (the doctors, my family and myself) don't know what is causing what-- it's like asking which came first, the chicken or the egg. I had abnormally high levels of the antibody that processes gluten, now it's all normal with...
  14. I was diagnosed when I was 33, after I had my 2nd baby. Yes, I have been a little better since being on the diet, but I am also being treated for hypothyroidism, so we're not sure which is helping the most. It has really been good to "talk" to others dealing with some of the same issues.

  16. Trader Joe's (if you don't have a store near you, I think you can get it online) has really yummy granola-- 2 flavors too!
  17. My friend's a veterinarian, and she said that your dog may just have injured a disc and maybe you should try accupuncture (sp?)-- worth a try! :)
  18. thanks for the info.!
  19. Thanks for your comments and advice, April in KC. I've been given every possible test there is. My condition is a degenerative one, but so far I'm doing very well. Yes, by the end of the day, at night and in the middle of the night I stumble into everything in my path...etc...
  20. Who makes those?
  21. Can someone tell me which candies are gluten-free? I thought Hershey's Kisses were, and then I read somewhere that they're not...confused-- I try to stick to Organic Chocolate or Trader Joe's stuff...but, it would be so handy if I could have the stuff that they sell at the grocery store!
  22. I've been on the diet for almost 6 yrs., and the ataxia is only slightly better (I still can't ride a bike or ski!)...I guess it's a good thing that it's not any worse. I'm lucky to not have a worse case of this ataxia...
  23. I believe that Aquafresh, Aim, Colgate & Crest are all gluten-free...

    ARCHIVED Helpful Tips?

I think that everyone with young children feels like you do-- it does get better! Let some stuff go! Have some easy, gluten-free meals on hand and take the day off sometimes-- I am also a stay at home mom. You don't ever really get "off" from your job, so you gotta do whatcha gotta do to stay sane! I am dealing with the same issues, so I know how hard...

    ARCHIVED Sad

Everyone is giving great advice. It gets easier to deal with. The first few years on my diet, I TOTALLY felt like you do, but, hang in there! You need to get the rest of the family to eat "your" food too, in case the kids need to go on the diet one day, it won't be such a big adjustment!
