It was the worst. A lot of her classmates were there----not a dry eye in the place. And her mom was smashed out of her mind. I am an assistant with hearing impaired students. I am also put with learning disabled and emotionally disabled kids. Middle school is great!!! I've worked in grade schools also, but middle school suits me. Sarcasm is an effective... -

Hi Sillies!! Seems I am always getting on after everyone's gone to bed . Went to a job interview, trying to find work for summer break. Scared to death I won't have income for 6 weeks. Recent posts creating all kinds of mixed emotions . The worst funeral I went to was for a student at my middle school----she went missing right before Christmas. Was found... -
I don't get the severe bloating so I can't help you there. But I am overweight and I also thought that eating gluten free would automatically cause me to lose weight. Then I read on this forum that rice turns to sugar much quicker than wheat----not good for the diet. I realized that most of the gluten foods I had replaced with rice based products. So now...

When I shut the door I get little kitty paws darting back and forth under the door!!! -
My throat is a lot better----have to watch the sugar, cause it will cause reflux symptoms. Dry eyes haven't changed---I use prescription eye drops. Lisa

HAD 2 snakes--back when my son was in high school. They were for his research project. He grew up to be a wildlife biologist and ecologist. And yes, they eat mice and rats. I don't normally mind snakes----even have a picture of me holding an 8 ft boa in high school.....but I REALLY don't like surprises! ......probably why I can't stand spiders. They have... -

Tinkerbell hasn't been outside since we got her. Doesn't seem to miss it. She used to be a stray...and pregnant. A lady took her in, gave away the kittens, and my DD got Tinkerbell. She has a big scar over her right shoulderblade (favorite place to be scratched ) She did find a mouse in the house once and left it in Briana's shoe! -

We got Zeus from an animal shelter. He cringes, cowers, shakes and pants whenever DH watches football ( can't handle the yelling) Doesn't matter how much DH loves on him during the game. He's petrified as soon as he hears the pre-game announcers. -
ARCHIVED Weight Watchers And gluten-free Diet?
curlyfries replied to LIZARD's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
That sounds like acid reflux, or GERD. Mine got better when I eliminated gluten and most dairy and sugar. My daughter clears her throat a lot, especially when she does't take her Prilosec. Haven't been able to get her to go gluten free, yet. Lisa -

The Tom/Ptauoghmn reminds me of my DD's name---Briana. Alot of people don't pronounce it right. Someone else gave their daughter the same name but solved the pronunciation problem by spelling it---B-R-E-A-U-G-H-N-N-A Leighhsuh -

Hey all!! Remember my backed up kitchen sink? Yeah.....much bigger problem than I thought. I tried to unclog it myself.....always been able to before. (Didn't want to have to tell hubby I put too much down the disposal....again ) In my defense, it's been awhile since the last time. So.. had to tell DH and he worked on it last night----had to use a balloon... -

I know I'm new around here, but how long have you been on Effexor? My DD used to be on that....and several others at different times. Many of the ones she tried worked at first, but after a while became ineffective. She hated to keep changing and was sure nothing would ever work. She's been doing really well for over a year, but I don't know what it is she... -
ARCHIVED Amy's New Indian Meals
curlyfries replied to BallardWA's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I might be wrong, but I thought I read once that a product can not be labeled gluten free if it's not something that would normally contain gluten. Perhaps this is the case. If these are foods that would never have gluten to begin with, then it can't be removed or altered from the recipe, so they can't say gluten free. -
ARCHIVED Do I Call Myself A Celiac?
curlyfries replied to GlutenFree4Life's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi lapentola! I don't really have anything to contribute. I am self-diagnosed. Because of the bleeding I used to have, I know there must be intestinal damage. I actually just wanted to say welcome neighbor! What side of Indy are you from? I live on the far east side. Lisa -

curlyfries replied to Krystens mummy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I agree. If that's the case, perhaps you should see an ENT....especially if the gluten free diet doesn't make it better. Untreated reflux can lead to bad things Lisa
