  1. I don't think it's weird at all. Before I finished reading your post, I was thinking that it should be done in private. And do tell her where it came from and why you want her to have it. If it were me, I would be very touched by that gesture...and I'm sure the waterworks would be going full blast!.....but in a good way I think it's an excellent idea!
  2. Hey Ptaughm, we missed each other! I used to live in Tucson from '77 to '79.
  3. Lisa, Thanks for posting an answer to my question in the forum.

I see you like swing dancing. We learned a little of West Coast, but not a lot. We used to go ballroom dancing once a month. I loved it!

    Have a great day.

  4. You haven't been gluten-free very long....could be you have unmasked another food intolerance. Have you eliminated dairy? Many celiacs can't handle dairy until their villi heal. Others have to eliminate soy also. I have had to eliminate dairy and sugar.
  5. All A+ in my family.
  6. I had one that looked exactly like that on my hand. I couldn't find a similar pic either, so I waited---thought maybe it was eczema. Finally went to the doc......he thought it looked pre-cancerous. Did a biopsy.....it was basal cell carcinoma-----that's not as serious as a lot of other skin cancers. When he did the biopsy he took off the whole thing, so nothing...
  7. I thought they were champagne bubbles!!!! Alex, if you want a fun book to read, try Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels. She's hilarious!!!!
  8. I had to eliminate sugar. Also, do you you the same sponge as everyone else to wash your dishes?
  9. It doesn't have to be super expensive. Stick to a basic meat and veggie diet. The specialty pre-made foods are what hit you in the pocketbook. Next to that, the best advice I can give is to go back and read old posts. That's what I did when I first arrived. There's nothing I can tell you that hasn't been said hundreds of times before. Welcome to the...
  10. I also hate to cook. I am an empty-nester, and I no longer feel like spending time in the kitchen. But celiac has made it necessary, so I look for shortcuts wherever I can. First off, I NEVER bake. I can do without bread and such. Secondly, most of my meals are simple...meat and veggies. McCormicks has great spice blends for seasoning. Then there...
  11. I mainly stick with chicken, fish, roasts, steak, hamburgers(no bun).I season these with Mc Cormick spice blends or rubs. I also eat lots of veggies, frozen or fresh, and sweet potatoes. But I understand your need to know what other groceries you can buy. When I first found this forum I scoured through hundreds of posts to see what had been talked about...
  12. You can borrow my scuba goggles!!!!!......( see picture in my personal profile)
  13. Everybody run while you still can!!!!
  14. What about everyones' cars? We still have dings in ours from a hail storm similar in size we had over a year ago.
  15. Wellll....I wasn't going to say anything..... Actually, I think that smell is all the poop flying around tonight......
  16. HAH!! hey,....now my name will live on in posteriority
  17. yeah...it worked for me ....the longer I hung around, the more things started to make sense to me...............<I'm not so sure that's a good thing>
  18. *SNORT*.........Holy crap!......oops....did I just say that?.......ROFL
  19. OK.......Wow! .........NNNNEEEEEOOOOOWWWWWW<handpassingovertopofhead>.....what a great example of symbolism!!!
  20. Actually, I was referring to the pooping and crying
  21. Use chicken bouillon when boiling brussel sprouts. Not one of my favorite veggies, but they are actually rather good this way.
  22. Parting is such sweet sorrow.........
  23. Yes, it's been quite delightful. Pennsylvania usually gets our weather 1 day later. My DS lived in Pittsburgh until just recently. We're supposed to keep this weather for the rest of the week!
  24. Sooo...what is the difference between standard and linear? Is there any? Or are they just trying to confuse us? Ooohhhhh.....I see....linear has that annoying first post on every page of a thread.....standard does away with that.......Thank gawd....now maybe I can get the Oscar Mayer song out of my head ........my bologna has a first name.........
  25. On a similar note.....I once knew a woman who would cry when she went poop...some sort of uncontrollable physical response. I wonder if there's medical term for that. To solve the mystery of the disappearing phrogs, I think I will pose this question to my wildlife biologist son the next time we speak. So...how invasive is this knee surgery?
