  1. Hi - I live in Miles City Montana - I updated my signature!! I have access to a small health food store here in Miles. I go to Billings MT - and they have several. My sister lives in Washington and she goes to Trader Joes for me once in awhile. I also order on the internet - especially - "Manna From Anna" That is the best bread in the world!! BamBam
  2. More poop talk!! I started taking Zelnorm last October and that has caused a lot of the constipation to go away. I would be constipated for up to six days, then have four or five bowel movements in an hour, then diarrhea for a few days, then back on the roller coaster. I am still not very regular, and that gets my anxiety going once in awhile, especially...
  3. Most everything was homemade - I used Kraft Mayo - and there was nothing naughty on the label. Actually, I read the smoked sausage label, and ya know, there was nothing bad in it. HOWEVER, the next day, I drank a sip of that root beer, and stomach ache almost immediately. So I do think it was the root beer. Barque's doesn't seem to bother me. The rest...
  4. I love "Manna From Anna" and I just read where someone is using the muffin rings, and making like sandwich rolls out of it. How long do you bake them? I don't want to mess up, since these mixes are a little pricey, I don't want to over or under bake them. I never thought of doing this with Manna From Anna, it would make good sandwich rolls. I'm gonna...
  5. We used my own brand new Weber bbq - so no possible way of having gluten on the bbq. We do not cook any buns on the grill ever!!! I also ate some potato chips, but don't remember the brand - the ingredient list was simple - potatoes and salt and oil. bambam
  6. We had a barbecue yesterday. I used Kraft Mayo, French's regular yellow mustard, Bush's baked beans with maple syrup, the regular potatoes, boiled eggs in a potato salad, my own homemade pickle relish, Heinz ketcup, I drank a Hire's Brand Root Beer. I ate a plain hamburger patty - no bun - not even near a bun. I ate part of a smoked sausage - no brand...
  7. Viola Can you give me some suggestions on safe food - I know gluten free, but what are some safe items that you eat before travel.
  8. This past week I have read almost all the threads through this whole message board. It is just amazing the symptoms and problems associated with Celiac disease. I don't remember where I read some of them but I associate with so much of the depression/mood disorders. One gal mentioned that when she eats gluten, she is a "b" to work with and that she doesn...
  9. I've reqad a few threads about finding a cheese replacement for some people. Now this won't be for everyone but maybe it will work for some of you. I buy what is called Rice Shredds - made with wholesome brown rice and it is also Soy Free. The ingredients read: rice beverage (filtered water, organic brown rice maltodextrin/rice proten 1%), Casein...

    ARCHIVED Good News

I work in a clinic setting and we hired a new internal med that lists Celiac as one of his "specialties." Today the clinic offered a "Lunch and Learn" where he talked about his practice and the different pocedures and sicknesses/diseases that he works with. I asked him about celiac today and he explained the blood test and the anti bodies and also the EGD...
  11. We read a lot about this topic, but I guess what I am wondering is how do you work and live a normal life when diarrhea/bowels are always on the mind. Having to know where the bathroom is all the time or do I travel or don't I travel... I had diarrhea for years - accidents and you name it. I am now gluten free and am feeling better, but just can't seem...
  12. Hey, you guys are great!! I never expected four responses before I left work. I can do my shopping on my way home, no extra trip. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!! BAMBAM
  13. My home coomputer is giving me problems. And my brain is on the fritz!! I need Gluten free: Tuna Syrup (I think it is Aunt Jemima) Pasta Sauce (I buy Classico) Soy Sauce Worchesester Sauce For some reason I am having problems remembering the right brand to buy on these items. I don't use them very often, I am pretty much a meat/fruit and...
  14. Broncobux My husband is diabetic, he has for the last ten years or so, lots of diarrhea, boated, gassy, has to burp all the time. He says he has to drink pop to get the air out of his stomach. He is also taking Nexium. He has a huge appetite, about 50 pounds over weight. He also has bad teeth in general. He also has mood chjanges but I usually hook...
  15. My husband, by mistake, has not eaten much wheat, if at all since my kitchen is pretty much gluten free. Anyway, he commented that he has not been near as bloated lately, he has been having much more normal bowel movements, hardly any diarrhea (the toilet has been clean for a week!!) . And he is not constipated for five or six days. He does eat school...
  16. I have 8 weddings to attend this spring and summer - unbelievable!! I am going to go to these weddings with very good spirit and know that I am going to have fun, even though I have to give up wedding cake and the meal/luncheon 8 times. I will either take my own food or eat before I go! I used to stay home and only go to the dance, but not anymore!! ...
  17. I've been reading other message boards. Do you call every company regarding ingredient labeling? If my can of peas says "peas, water and salt" - I don't call the company. But if a different label says " peas, dry milk, modified food starch, artifical flavor or color" or something that could be wheat, those are the companies we are supposed to call, isn...
  18. I am wondering what others have for symptoms if you eat corn? I am thinking I may have an intolerance, but not sure. I ate corn in a few meals last week and my insides were just in an uproar.

    ARCHIVED New To Gf Diet

I was in the hospital recently also and my husband brought me almost every meal. I could eat breakfast fairly well, cream of rice, and hot tea and jello. But my lunch and supper were brought by my husband, I even asked for a credit on my hospitla bill and they laughed at me. BAM

    ARCHIVED Corn

I read somewhere where a few people were discussing corn intolerance, and for the life of me, I cannot find it. Anyway, I have a question. I can eat popcorn fairly well, but yellow corn, yellow tortilla chips send me to the bathroom in just a short time. Would anyone know the difference? bambam
  21. What do you guys do to cope with a diarrhea day. Is Imodium safe to take? What foods do you eat to comfort on a bad day? bambam
  22. I am also self diagnosed - I welcome IANM and JUNEVARN to the boards. I felt somewhat alone not knowing very many other people that are self diagnosed. I also share the same story, doctors were of no help to me whatsoever, I learned through a friend about wheat intolerance, but had no understanding the true meaning of it all. Then I found Celiac...
  23. I am trying to eat healthier - eating more veggies and to save some money, I try and buy some frozen items, instead of fresh (I don't always get it all eaten when I buy fresh, then have to throw it out). So I buy a bag thinking I can serve it in several portions, but after I put it in my freezer it freezes solid as a rock and I can't even bust it apart...
  24. I should have been a little clearer - but I guess I am just having anxieties related to always having to check everything I eat and people not understanding and stuff like that. Thanks for asking. Bambam
  25. I just need some reassurance that the anxieties related with wheat/gluten will go away in time. I've had a rough week and just need some good vibes! Bambam
