I've been reading so many different symptoms here, that I almost feel overwhelmed. I have been diagnosed with depression just recently, and some days I feel great, others not so good. This past weekend I may have eaten some gluten, can gluten actually cause these depression symptoms? I just feel blue, tired and yucky today. BamBam

ARCHIVED Those That Are Not Officialy Diagnosed
BamBam replied to dbuhl79's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I spent 12 years being misdiagnosed and refuse to eat gluten for 6 weeks or months to get tested. What do I tell people? I refer to what Pastor Dave said last month or so, that "eating gluten is like putting poison into my body." And that is what I tell people, that when I eat it, I feel really really sick, so I have decided to refrain from eating any... -
Hello, I visited with my doctor the other day about some meds that I have taken for depression. Each anti depressant is different and cause different side effects, but many of them can cause diarrhea. I have been diagnosed just recently with clinical depression. Last year I was taking Lexapro and I was having bad diarrhea attacks (was not totally gluten...

Hi, this is BamBam's husband. I need some advice please. My wife thinks she can't eat anything now! She has lost close to twenty pounds in the last six months, and she I really believe she has some depression issues here regarding all of this. I am really worried about her. I support her as much as I can, it is just the two of us here in the house, so...

I just started taking them and haven't learned a whole lot yet. I understand that they help by decreasing the chances of diarrhea and also decreasing bloating or intestinal churning type things. It is worth a try.

Is there anything a person needs to know when taking probiotics? I want to start taking them, I've heard they can help a lot with intestinal bloating and diarrhea. I thought, though, that I read somewhere in the threads here that a person shouldn't drink dairy products when taking probiotics? Is this true? I am lactose intolerant, so only eat yogurt and...

I've been gluten free for only 2 months, seems like an eternity some days. HOw do you guys handle bad days, when you don't feel good or having a marathon bathroom day? I've just been down in the dumps, not feeling well, and just was wondering. I started taking some vitamin B12 and vitamin B6 and those seem to help, I take one pill of each every other...

Oh, I think we have all made a stupid mistake at some point, especially in the beginning. My stupid thing was with oats. I didn't understand the cross-contamination" issue and I ate a huge bowl of Chocolate Oaties cereal. The box said wheat free so I just figured they are all right. The products I eat should say "wheat free/gluten free." Anyway the cereal...

Thank you all for your responses, I was just having a bad day last week. Thanks to Pastor Dave who so simply stated "everyone is human and prone to mistakes." Thanks for sharing your stories with me! Bernadette

Some days, don't you think we should all call our newspapers and radio stations and yell "I HAVE CELIAC AND I CAN'T EAT WHEAT!!" I've been reading the various threads here today and ya know, people just don't get it do they!!?? Non-supportive spouses, or co-workers or even best friends. Basically, they just don't understand any part of it. I have given...

Yesterday, I inquired with the dietician at the clinic I work in, as to what I can eat in the hospital cafeteria. I know I can eat the salad and the veggies and I was asking about what the turkey is soaked in or the ham. She did not have much information for me and when we discussed eating the hamburgers and i said "they flip the buns with the same turner...

Moving On - There is a difference in the two products, there is a Montina Baking Supplement, plus a Montina Flour Mixture. I used the flour mixture. I have the baking supplement, but have not used it yet, I noticed on the recipes on the box that with the baking supplement, other flour is required for the cookies. Bernadette

BamBam posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Approximately 12 years ago I learned I was lactose intolerant, so I gave up dairy. HOwever I did not feel any better. So I gave up wheat/gluten and my problems are a lot better. My question is, do you think some day I will be able to drink milk again? And how long should I wait before I drink real milk? I've been gluten free since August 6. I get really...
