Yeah, I get these too. I am really dreading having to sit in a very quiet place with someone, or in class.

Yeah, count me in. I was just crying the other day on the cancer is a fungus thread because it felt like my entire life had become a fungus. I am sick all the time, and allergic to everything. But, I haven't been completely clean with my diet either, but it is sooo hard. Especially since I also can't do dairy. Right after my crying spell, I realized...

ARCHIVED Cancer - - A Fungus?..........
Calicoe replied to elye's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks so much for all your help, you guys. I'm crying now. I have to go and do cover letters. In addition to bad health, I'm totally broke and underemployed. Talk soon. -
ARCHIVED Cancer - - A Fungus?..........
Calicoe replied to elye's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
OK Shay, I looked up the diet on various websites. I am motivated. I am going to give up beer and chocolate, and everything else. I am truly in bad shape, and very depressed. I have to get my life back, and the key is diet. I'm going to do it. Thanks so much for your help and encouragement. I will check in again this week. -

Thanks so much. I am going to do the garlic/oregano/coconut. I think I heard that it should be virgin coconut oil. I am having trouble sticking to my allergy diet (stick with wheat, but have trouble with dairy and beer), but I want desperately to be health again. Do you have any suggestions about how often with the garlic/oil of oregano/coconut? -
ARCHIVED Still Drinking Regular Beer - No Problems
Calicoe replied to Mountaineer Josh's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yeah, I've been having the same experience. Some beers make me sick as a dog for days, and some beers I can drink 2 or 3 close to bedtime and wake up clear as a bell. I have found that the clear lagers and pilsners are a good bet for me. I'm sure it has something to do with the brewing and fermentation time. Darker ales usually have a caramel color added... -
ARCHIVED Cancer - - A Fungus?..........
Calicoe replied to elye's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
This is of extreme interest to me because I am suffering with an illness which I first thought to be celiac disease, but now am increasingly convinced in Candida A. I intuitively new that this could turn into cancer. I have removed wheat and struggle with dairy, but it seems like I am sick everyday and am allergic to everything. I seriously feel like I... -
ARCHIVED How We Can Do Something To Help Cure Are Celiac
Calicoe replied to Will The Thrill's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yeah, but denial might be less if it becomes more visible and a lot easier to maintain. But, I do see major opposition, in two words: the wheat industry. Heck, maybe we can convince them to throw wheat into the lot of biofuels to help offset the high production cost of palm oil. (only a joke - I know alternative fuels are a lot more complicated). -

Nice recipes and advice on this thread. Thanks for the recipe on Teff Peanut Butter cookies, PJ Maxx! -
Yes, I am in the exact same boat. I feel like I am sick just about every day. I almost feel like just the act of eating makes me ill. I'm so sorry to complain, but I feel like I can't take it anymore. I have a doctor's appt. on Aug. 14th, although I don't have much faith in them anymore. What are they going to do when I tell them I want to be tested...

I really like the New Grist Beer, which is advertised on this site. It is a real, quality beer, and has won some awards. I also have my favorite pils which I like, but won't recommend it because I don't know what's in it, and it is not advertised as a gluten free beer, but doesn't make me ill at all.

ARCHIVED How We Can Do Something To Help Cure Are Celiac
Calicoe replied to Will The Thrill's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I love your posts, Shay. And I see all of the new things you have eliminated this year - wow. I need to start getting serious myself. Will, your thinking about highlighting public awareness on celiac disease is on the right track. Even if there isn't a "cure", at least public awareness will increase the amount of products and services for us out there... -
ARCHIVED I Cant Take It Anymore Someone Help
Calicoe replied to Will The Thrill's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Will: I haven't been on this site in several weeks until today, and wanted to respond to your post. I have been living with a gluten intolerance for just a few months now, and I have my hard times also. I have cheated on my diet a couple of times, but mostly with dairy. I am allergic to dairy, corn, wheat, and to a lesser extent soy, eggs and other... -
I never could drink coffee like anyone else, and I figured that one out very young, at 18. The celiac thing just happened to me this year, and I am still undiagnosed. But coffee is delicious and the bigger burden for me will be no more coffee ice cream, or ice cream of any sort (just for now, I hope). I've always been more of a tea drinker.

Thanks Rice Guy, and everyone else who contributed to this thread. I increased my intake of calcium and magnesium, and all seems to be fine now. Pleasant dreams.

ARCHIVED Newly Diagnosed & Vegetarian
Calicoe replied to DLake's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Very good posts above, and all have been very helpful for me. I have always respected the values and tenets of vegetarianism and vegans, and have been a part of their communities, but I am now struggling with an illness in which I cannot eat wheat, corn and other grains including millet, dairy and most cheeses, and now eggs and soy. Heaven help me if I... -
It's so great that you are thinking about it, and trying to plan in advance not to contaminate her. Very sweet! On the beer note, I want to thank everyone here for additional suggestions. I am a lover of Belgian beer, and will go out and look for Green's beer. Can you find it at Whole Foods? I am relatively new to the Celiac stuff myself, and...

ARCHIVED What Is This? Warn 0% Box Box Box Box Box
Calicoe replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
I appreciate this thread, because I am relatively new here and logged on and saw the same thing. I was starting to wonder what the heck I said or did. I thought it was a pre-warning grace period or something. Thanks for clearing it up. -
Yes, I've heard a lot of good things about consuming coconut oil. Thanks for the great advice. I'm going to introduce it to my regimen.

Yes, I had problems with speech before going gluten-free. It was one of the worst and most debilitating symptoms, besides the excruciating pain and D that I was experiencing on a daily basis. I would have trouble with memory and thinking of simple words, stutter or stumble on the pronunciation of words that I knew, and jumble phrases. It was humiliating...

I get a lot of those same symptoms. I often wonder if I am dealing with a hypothyroid issue.

Yes, I had this problem before figuring out gluten and dairy intolerances. My leg skin was extremely, extremely dry, and my facial skin would at times cake over in a dry mask. It was horrible. I am figuring this all out on my own, so I don't have any official diagnoses, apart from my own observations. The dry leg skin has disappeared with my going gluten...

ARCHIVED Feeling "hungover" Everyday!
Calicoe replied to kristend's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes! I love Bjork. On to our symptoms, over the last week I noticed a bald patch in on of my eyebrows. I also cheated last week with gluten. It turned red and itchy, and then some time after I noticed the bald spot. I initially thought it was because of a product I used to clean the bathroom, but I have used it before and have never had a reaction like... -
ARCHIVED Feeling "hungover" Everyday!
Calicoe replied to kristend's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, you are definitely not alone with the hungover feeling. I am getting over that now, and the total length from onset to full recovery is about 3-5 days. I have always been susceptible to migraines, but they increased in frequency this year, right around the time when I found out about my dairy and wheat intolerance. I now see a direct link to what... -
Yes, count me in. Terrible, painful cramps, long periods for a full seven days or more, heavy clotting, shrill, debilitating migraines that lasted 2-5 days or longer as they subsided, brain fog and clumsiness, word jumbling, shakiness - a total wreck. In fact, I first cut out gluten in response to my terrible periods, and then learned from there. I confirmed...
