  1. I just read this on www.seacoastonline.com if anyone is interested, the owner of Anello's Pasteries is opening up a gluten-free cafe in downtown Portsmouth, NH! There's not much details yet, but since they already have sandwiches, pizza and other stuff available in the bakery up in Wells, ME, I'm assuming they will have alot of good stuff at the cafe when...
  2. Thanks Mtn for the info!! I'm psyched to go back to Foxwoods, it has been way too long. Three hours away seems alot closer than it is when you consider staying over and all that if you want to enjoy yourself with some drinks and stay late, so we never get there. The MGM @ Foxwoods is doing $63 week day specials right now which is amazing considering...
  3. I posted a couple weeks ago about Popovers on the Square in here as well, I highly recommend it. The gluten-free bread they use for their sandwiches is really good, I keep meaning to go to the Portsmouth Health Food Store to check it out, that is apparently where they get it. It's called Millets Special or something but I don't know the actual brand name...
  4. Hi everyone, Does anyone have any good experiences/reccomendations for eating gluten-free at Foxwoods Casino in CT. I am going next month, and it's the first time since I have been diagnosed that I have gone. It is hard to get in touch with the individual restaurants there for some reason, but so far I have talked to someone at Craftsteak and they are...
  5. Hey all, I was browsing the Sylvan Street Grille web site the other night and noticed they have an allergy list for all their menu items. Even better, it had fries listed as gluten-free. So I called and spoke with the chef that was working and he confirmed that they do have a dedicated friolator for the fries and that they also are educated on cross...
  6. Where in MA do you live Jami? I live in Seabrook, NH and all the grocery stores up here carry Redbridge now including of all places Wal-Mart. I drink hard liquor mostly so beer isn't a must or anything, but you'd be hard pressed to find my fridge without Redbridge in it lol, the stuff is so good, I honestly like it better than some of the beers I used to...
  7. Hello all, I just wanted to post about yet another new option in the Seacoast, NH/Boston area for you Celiacs out there. Last night I finally made it to Popovers on the Square in downtown Portsmouth (it is a block below Market Sq. on the main drag to downtown), and let me tell you I was not dissapointed. It is a sandwhich/pastry shop and they have some...
  8. Hi all, I couldn't find anything about this by anyone else so I thought I would post as a heads up. The 99 has a gluten free menu now online and in the restaurants. I went tonight and they had one for me and the fries are also cooked in a dedicated friolator now too (at least in the Seabrook, NH location, but fries are on the gluten free menu on the...
  9. Hi all, I am going to be in Newark, NJ next month on business and I cannot for the life of me find anywhere local that I can eat Gluten Free. Anyone know the area? I see a Chili's near the airport and that's about it. Hoping to find a few options, I'm probably going to be there for a couple nights. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Nick
  10. Burton's Grill is phenomonal for Celiacs. I went tonight for my birthday to the North Andover location and man oh man was it amazing. First off, I asked for the gluten-free menu and they had it in a second, looked just as full and nice as the other ones. For an appetizer I wanted to try the Rissoto Fritters which were fried with sausage, fried rice, provolone...
  11. I just wanted to say that yesterday I hit the Uno's in Revere, MA on my way to the Celtics game (cause unfortunately Marco's is closed on Monday so I had to eat something before the game) and tried the gluten-free pizza. It was really really good. The dough was a big soggy/uncooked in places (possibly the grease/cheese mushing it more than it usually would...
  12. I went about a month ago before a concert at the Bank of America Pavillion and it was phenomonal, I'm actually going back next week before a Celtics game, I love having an excuse to get into the city and eat there now haha. The bread was fantastic too, which is rare in my experiences thus far. If anyone ever goes searching for it just a word of advice,...
  13. I live on the Seacoast of NH and have posted several posts on restaurants in this area in the last 8 months or so since I've been diagnosed, it's great to see the options expanding around here!! I got to go to Rafferty's this Summer and I got the appetizer sampler so I could have all the things I haven't been able to eat in ages like Potato Skins and fries...
  14. Yeah, this is the closest place to where I live (Seabrook) that I know does the gluten-free pasta so far, I guess there's a place in Merrimack, NH called Ya Mamma's that does it too and then waaaay up in North Conway there's a place called Bellini's, but I haven't been to either of them. Also if you ever go down to Boston, there's a place in the North...
  15. Just a quick tip, there's an Italian restaraunt in Greenland, NH (between Portsmouth and Hampton) that now offers gluten free rice penne from an Italian company called Beretta, which I had never heard of. It was pretty good, I got it with a regular ole red marinara sauce, and I couldn't even tell the difference between good ole regular penne. The owner...
  16. Well this was my first Summer of gluten free living and although I'm nowhere near feeling 100% better (I was diganosed in April) but I'm definitley getting there (a big thanks to all of you for alot of that, I have found so much good information here). I have posted and shared some dining experiences before, but I haven't in awhile and wanted to post...
  17. I've been OK with their Wavy and Ruffles (don't know if this is luck or the cross-contamination is so slight that it doesn't bother me etc.), but I was eating Cheetos for about a week and I was so sick for that week, go figure. Ever since not eating Cheetos again I have felt great, so no more Cheetos for me. Just another one of those gotta try it and see...
  18. Hello all, I'm fairly new to the forum (and to the whole Celiac thing), I've only have posted a couple times so far, but I wanted to confirm that this is 100% true. I live on the Seacoast of NH and went up to the Belmont dog track/poker room tonight and on our way we stopped at the Outback in Concord to find out if the too good to be true news was...
  19. Hey all, I know about all the great restaurants (I think there's 2-3 of them now) up in North Conway that appear to be Celiac friendly (such as Rafferty's and that Italian restaurant) but I am going to be up a bit north of Concord, pretty far away from North Conway and was wondering if anyone knew of some Celiac friendly restaurants up in that area (as...
  20. I know how you feel also. I was just diagnosed about three weeks ago with Celiacs. I am 28 and have had stomach problems as far back as I remember. I finally went to see a gastrologist last month and within three weeks I had a lactose test and an endoscopy/colonoscopy scheduled and done. The lactose test was negative but during the endoscopy they took...
