  1. I have been hearing about the Acai Berry for incredible health properties which include weight loss. Apparently this product is helpful for blood pressure, cholesterol, cleansing, detox, and weight loss. I wrote to the company to ask if it was gluten free, and here was the response I recieved: "Our pills doesn't contains wheat or gluten." I hate to...
  2. Here is their web site: Open Original Shared Link I would ask their registered dietitians if their products are gluten free.
  3. DO NOT use the "Tide 7 signs". I tried it and loved it for my laundry, but began breaking out all over my arms, back and stomach. It is very unfriendly to DH. I can, however, use the other Tide products. I use the one in the white bottle -- no dyes, no perfumes, no worries. Good luck.
  4. Sounds to me like someone is trying to promote their product with a slightly dishonest twist. All eggs are gluten free -- not just the ones labeled as such. Wow!! People will find any way possible to promote things. Stay tuned.....it may be soon that bananas are labeled as gluten free too. Enjoy your eggs -- whatever brand you want. They're all...

    ARCHIVED What Kind Of Doctor

I am so sorry your son is having problems. I can relate. I had symptoms since I was very young, but was not diagnosed until I was 42 years old. Who knows how much damage has been done to my digestive system. It sounds to me like your son also has the skin disease which is related to celiac sprue. The skin rash is called, "dermititus herpetiformis" If...
  6. I have used the Vaseline Intensive Care lotions for years and have had no problems EXCEPT with the Healthy Glow line. I couldn't find any ingredients that would have caused my problems, but I had one of the worsed cases of DH ever after using the Vaseline Healthy Glow.
  7. Can anyone recommend a good body lotion? Many lotions can trigger severe DH breakouts for me.
  8. I have heard that you should have been eating gluten for several days before your test. I'm' not positive though. Have you asked your doctor?
  9. While working out, are you possibly drinking something that may have gluten in it? There are several sports drinks that I cannot touch without getting sick.
  10. Do you know if this includes the Mucinex DM and the Mucinex D?
  11. Gatorade? I seem to be the only Celiac that I know that cannot use the powder Gatorade. I can use it once or twice, but if I use it several times a week, my mood starts to crash. I start heading for a time of depression. As soon as I stop the Gatorade, I'm fine again. The liquid premixed Gatorade doesn't seem to have the same affect on me. I have noticed...
  12. PureFit Rocks! I have been using them for about six months now. They are perfect. I can eat them before a long run and during my endurance races. Only problem is that I can only find them online and have to order a lot at once. Does anyone know if there are any stores that carry PureFit?
  13. Hi William, Which Accelerade product do you use? I bought the orange powder, tried it one time during a training run, and the next morning I lost enough hair to fill atleast a quarter of a cup. I noticed on the container that there was an allergy warning that this was processed in a facility that also processes wheat. I decided not to drink it and...
  14. welcome to the site! I too enjoy endurance racing. I have comleted about five marathons, 10 ultra marathons, and many half marathons. I ran before my diagnosis, during my diagnosis, and after my diagnosis. Let me explain my changes to you so that you can avoid the same mistakes I made. First of all, giving up bread and pasta for two weeks and seeing...
  15. You are awesome to be willing to keep going. I'm not sure after all of that I would still want to run. You can beat this though. I have run several half-marathons, full-marathons, and ultra-marathons since my diagnosis. The trick is to train with food and drinks exactly like what you will eat during the race. For whatever reasons, I seem to be sensitive...
  16. Be sure to check you birth control pills or any other prescriptions you are taking. In addition to Celiac Sprue and DH, I also suffer from hypothyroidism. I cannot take synthroid, the most prescribed medication for hypothyroidism. I take Levoxyl instead. Also, I was on a birth control pill for years that caused the DH breakouts on my face. I really wish...
  17. Have you tried staying away from yeast? I have found that yeast causes my skin to have problems.
  18. Unfortunately, I can tell you where NOT to eat. I was going to go on the Spirit of Norfolk Dinner Cruise. I called ahead and explained that I had celiac sprue disease and could not eat wheat or gluten. The cruise has a dinner buffet. This particular night the buffet choices were pasta or stuffed meats (all of the stuffing was bread). Their desserts were...
