    I have 2 younger children, my youngest is Celiac. So, I am not speaking from experience of having an 8 year old, but just an idea...why not leave it up to him? Ask him if he wants to go, and prepare him for the fact that he needs to bring his own food.     I recently recieved a great tip from another mom with a Celiac child. Our biggest struggle with this new life of ours, is eating out. We ask for my daughters food to be microwaved in the back, and half of all restaurants say they don't have one, or they can't heat up my daughter's food because of legal issues (I am assuming the matter of possible lawsuits...

    Veggie Pirate's Booty from Trader Joes. I am not sure if it is sold exclusively at Trader Joes, but that is the only place I have found it! My 17 month old eats them up!

    What about making a few meals and seperate them into individual serving containers, and hopefully somewhere there is an extra freezer you can use in the dorms somewhere! You can store them there, and then pull one out and microwave it when you are ready to eat. If they don't find an extra space in a freezer somewhere...contact the disabilities liason like...

    Yes, Sea World San Diego! My daughter had the cotton candy, and had no reaction...and she usually has a reaction to even a crumb on bread! So, I would say eat 3 bags if you wish!     My 14 month old was recently diagnosed, so I had the blood work done last week. The lab told me today that the Antigliadin came back positive, so the rest of the tests were cancelled.     I read an idea from a gluten free book for Toll House Cookies. Just replace the flour with Gluten Free Cookie Mix.     My daughter has only been gluten-free since 3 weeks ago, but I have read a lot. In the "Kids with Celiac Disease" book, it recommends to NOT bake gluten-free cupcakes, etc for classmates, because there will always be one kid who says, "Yuck!"     I have been peeking in on this forum since my daughter has been through testing the past 3 weeks.
